ot the Vinicio's name/number from a friend. He appears to be knowledgeable and provided the lowest bid. I went with him. The experience was good. Vinicio was punctual, showed up on time, which is not commonly seen among contractors nowadays. Although I did have a hard time to reach him in the morning through the phone, it turned out his cell phone ran out of juice -- he had to charge it at my location. Back to business -- we went over the details one more time, then he and his guys started on the job. I gotta say he moves fast. I mean, literally, he walks fast, speaks fast, everything fast. I observed how they did the work and reached the conclusion -- these guys how what they are doing. I had them convert a veggie garden to lawn, installed two pallets of sods to replace dead grasses. The ground was tilled, raked, then loam installed, before sods were laid down. Ground grading appears to be right. Vinicio was flexible to allow me order sods myself from Lone Star Landscape Supplies. It turns out to be a mistake -- the two pallets of sods I ordered, picked up by him, were yellow. Seeing the work they did, I went ahead to have them installed one more pallets of sods, to replace all dead grasses. This time Vinicio bought the sods for me, for $5 more per pallet, and the sods were, right, green. Vinicio offered to take out two tree stumps at $25, total, as he is doing multiples in the neighborhood. It is a fantastic deal. I hired Vinicio for future lawn mowing and all yard maintenance work. One big attraction from Vinicio's work is his reasonable price -- or you can think it as low. Hopefully he is not going to jack it up too much in the future, though I do expect it to rise to make a healthy business. I have to say one drawback -- he doesn't pick up the phones every time. It is easier to do text message with him.
