Wood floors installed in the front and back of a 840 sq ft condo. All floors still have sharp places on them. They could never fix all of the sharp and rough spots. We had them try twice and they still failed. Have to replace half of the floors because they all started to bow up. Contacted again and they said it was not their fault and that we would have to pay for repairs. They became totally unresponsive at some point and it was difficult to get them to return calls. Contacted another installer and was told the installation was bad and that we would have to replace approximately half of our floors due to the terrible installation. DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE OR YOUR WILL BE SORRY.

They did a great job. We have a tricky layout which they took in stride and figure out the best way to lay out the flooring. They were very respectful of our belongings and did their best to keep down the dust and debris. The finished product is outstanding. They were perfectionist and it shows.
Description of Work: We had approxiamtely 1500 of hardwood flooring installed. This included demo of tile, laminate flooring and carpet. In addition we had them sand and stain existing harwood flooring to match.

We purchased most materials including bamboo flooring and moisture barrier based adhesive from Floor & Decor with the intention of trying DYI. However, after never finding the time, and being uncomfortable with installing ourselves, we turned to Floor & Decor to use their installation service through their Home Service Store service. They pointed us to Perfect Floors as a one of their referral independent installers. Our initial appointment with Chad from Perfect Floors was cordial, and he provided a comprehensive detail of the services they would perform, and he provided a very good price quote for the work. They were able to get started within a week, which was great. Since we were installing the entire lower level of our house, we had planned on a strategy to move all furniture to one side of the house, install the flooring on the other open half, let that dry for a day, and then move all furniture to the other side and install the remainder of the flooring. The first step of the process was leveling the entire first floor slab. They worked quickly and comprehensively, although their estimate of leveling cement required was short, and thus we had an immediate $200 in additional cost we weren't expecting. Not too bad, and it seemed reasonable that the extra cement was needed to do the job right. After the leveling was done, their install crew arrived - on a Saturday no less, which was very convenient for me and my wife since we both work. They worked very quickly moving all the furniture from our kitchen & dining room into the living room, and installed the bamboo in the kitchen and dining room very quickly. However, immediately after laying the final plank in the dining room, they began moving my furniture from the living room back to the dining and kitchen areas, on top of the planks they just laid without giving the adhesive a chance to dry. I told them Chad mentioned we would give these areas time to dry before moving the furniture back, but they said, "no, no, it will be ok, it's already dry" at which point I drew my finger through a batch of wet adhesive seeping through an area where they first started. I had to tell them we are going to wait until this dries. A few hours later, I tested some areas again and was comfortable we could proceed. They moved all the furniture from the living room, and proceeded to install there. A couple hours later it became apparent we were a couple boxes short of being able to finish the job. The supervisor, who was maybe all of 20 something years old, said they would go ahead and spread the adhesive for the remainder of the unfinished area while I made a trip to Floor & Decor for a couple more boxes of bamboo. I told him no, we can't install new bamboo out of the box that day without letting these new planks acclimate to my house, and he said we don't need to do that, we can finish today, it will be alright. Again, I had to keep them from cutting corners to get the job done as fast as possible, and I told them we would need to reschedule the final installation after 4-5 days when the new bamboo has acclimated. They came back a few days later and finished the job, but between this time and the time they first started, I noticed several problems while reviewing their work. First, they scratched our stainless steel stove while moving furniture (which they ultimately paid for by reducing their install cost by the repair cost to fix my stove). Second, they installed the wood floors in my utility area with the planks abutting up against my interior door to the garage, so I couldn't open the door to my garage. Third, they didn't reinstall my commode or my pantry door when they said they were "finished". Luckily, I didn't pay the remainder of the job until these problems were fixed, and getting them fixed is really were the problems began. When they installed my commode and pantry door, and trimmed the planks to allow my garage door to open, they scratched multiple planks while doing this work, not taking care with their tools. Thus, we had to schedule additional work to replace all the planks they damaged. One crew came out to do the work, only to show up 5 hours late at 5pm, and when they arrived, they looked at the repairs needed and left saying they would come back to following day. After taking another day off to meet this crew, they never showed up, and the perfect flooring supervisor was difficult to get a hold of when I was calling for status updates, but when I finally spoke to him, he was not able to a hold of this crew to see when they would get the work done. They finally hired another crew who came out and replaced numerous planks, which still to this day feel as if they weren't properly installed, as they feel hollow and improperly attached to the slab. Because of all these problems, I made multiple calls to Chad, who I assume is the owner, and none of my calls were returned until I called The Home Service Store to inform them of all these problems and their lack of responsiveness. Once I made that call, they called Chad directly to inform him of my problems, and only then did I receive call back from Chad to ensure me these problems would be taken care of. After multiple trips to repair these problems, I finally felt were at completion of the job and paid the remainder of the cost. To Perfect Floors credit, they did reduce their install cost by the cost of my stove repair and the cost of the additional boxes of bamboo to replace the planks they damaged. But just a couple weeks ago, my bi-fold pantry door came off its track because they didn't reinstall it properly, and when it fell it made significant scratches in my flooring by the pantry. So I'm still suffering from their installers' lack of expertise, lack of quality control, and lack of attention to detail. I should also point out that it didn't appear that any of the crews sent were Perfect Floors employees, maybe their supervisor was, but not the other workers. I say this because each time a crew came out, they were different workers, and I was lucky if just one of the crew members spoke English, so it was difficult for me to communicate what repairs were needed to be done when they were on-site, and to do my own quality control as they worked. So, needless to say, after this experience, I will never use Perfect Floors again, I don't recommend Perfect Floors, and I make sure to tell any of my friends and colleagues who are getting their floors done to stay away from Perfect Floors.

The project was delayed by a week due to missing flooring. Perfect Floors misrepresented themselves as the team that would be installing our floor when in fact they contracted it out to a completely different company and charged a high fee for that service of being the middle man. Additionally, the overall appearance of the floor is damaged by glue/caulk residue left on the floor by the installers they subcontracted in to do the job.
Description of Work: Hardwood flooring purchased and installed through Costco Trusted Home Services program. Perfect Floors provided estimate for wood flooring, demolition, and installation. We were under the impression that Perfect Floors would perform the installation and that their team was "certified" or somehow more qualified than other installers we had spoken to. This was their justification for an installation estimate that was well over $1000 more than any other flooring installer. In actuality, they contract out the installation to another installer. Perfect Floors also provides estimates and installations for TreeHouse.

Member, I am sorry that you feel the way you do. The loss of the wood had nothing to do with Perfect Floors. You bought the material from Costco so they were responsible for the loss which they did everything they could to correct it immediately. We gave you a very competitive price. If you shop our price compared to any other legitimate flooring company, you will see that we are extremely competitive. We can not compete with small guys that are just working out of their vans because they do not carry the required insurances that Costco and our other big clients require us to carry which is why we get their work and other installers do not. All of our installers are independent contractors but we guarantee their work. These are guys that we keep working on a regular basis so they primarily work for us unless we do not have work to give them. If there was or ever is a problem with the installation then we will quickly take care of it. In the end, the quality of the install was good which of course your wife signed off on otherwise we would have stayed until the work was completed to your satisfaction. Sincerely, Chad Tafs

When we decided to replace carpet in the living areas on the first floor, we looked at a number of hardwood stores and a few vendors with very high ratings on Angies list to get the work done. After comparing the cost of the project, we were interested in getting the material from Pro-Source and installation done through Perfect Floors. We had initially got the reference to Perfect Floors through a family friend but we were scared due to the couple of very negative reviews on this contractor on this site. We spoke to our friend and he assured us that Perfect Floors has done an excellent job for him a couple of times and a few more times for his friends. We decided to take the risk as we thought that the risk was definitely outweighed by the benefit of saving some money. In the end, we are definitely glad that we took that risk and could use the money saved to get additional things done at the house. We are very pleased with the work the crew did. The work was done very carefully and in the time originally estimated.
Description of Work: Removed tile in entry way and part of breakfast area. Removed carpet from living areas. Installed Engineered hardwood on approx 600 sq ft area. Installed vinyl in bathroom, removed and reattached toilet.

We found out about Perfect Floors from a local flooring store...the store does not provide installation, but only provided their name as a suggestion(not an endorsement). Chad was quick to respond to my phone call and actually showed up a day early for the estimate. But that was the last I ever saw of him...I could never contact him directly via phone and always left messages. The crew never consisted of the same people and I never knew what time they would show up because they work multiple jobs at once. On one particular day, they finished for the day, but asked if I had a gas can because they did not have enough gas in their van to get back to the shop. I paid to have their van filled with about $20 of gas. For the job, I paid half up-front and half was required upon completion of work...I paid the last half despite the job not being complete(they needed to use two different strips t-molding along the edge between the family room and kitchen which were not of the same size). It took me two months to get them back to my home to complete the job...but when they did return they were about 4 hours late. The overall appearance of the floor is very good, but there was so much hassle in getting the work done and communication was very poor. I won't use them again.
Description of Work: Pergo flooring needed to be replaced after our half bath partially flooded the family room area. We were interested in bamboo flooring and found a nice sample of carbonized vertical bamboo. Chad from Perfect Floors stated that he had similar flooring available at a discounted price.

I AM NOT QUITE SURE WHAT HAPPENED ON THIS JOB. I KNOW THAT THERE WERE SOME ISSUES WITH THE TRANSITIONS BUT THAT IS ALL THAT I WAS AWARE OF. USUALLY THE OWNER MANNY HANDLES THE REPAIRS AND WE DO THE BEST WE CAN TO GET ON THEM IMMEDIATELY. I AM SORRY THAT YOU COULD NOT REACH ME. I USUALLY DO NOT HANDLE THE ACTUAL SUPERVISING OF THE INSTALLATION BUT WILL DO MY BEST TO MAKE MYSELF MORE AVAILABLE TO FUTURE CUSTOMERS. WE ARE A GOOD COMPANY AND WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING SURE YOU AND ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SATISFIED. I AM VERY SORRY THAT YOU FEEL THE WAY YOU DO BUT WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO IMPROVE IN THE AREAS THAT YOU HAD ISSUES WITH. WE APPRECIATE THE FEED BACK AND WILL BE A BETTER COMPANY FOR IT.

Chad was professional, punctual, and friendly when he arrived to do the estimate. He specifically told me how the junction between the new tile and the existing carpet was going to be done. He never told me that he would not be a part of the job after that day. I made the 1/2 price down payment and a date was set for the work to begin. I was told the job would probably take 2 days, but they would plan 3, "just in case." Several days before the job was scheduled we got a call saying they were overbooked, so they wanted us to let them come tomorrow. We could not accommodate that with our work schedules, then it turned out that they could come as planned anyway. The crew was late to the job the first day, saying they were held up because they had to get supplies, etc. There was a 2 man crew of people we had never met and neither one spoke English. They stayed until 7 or 8PM that night working. At the end of the second day I was told that the work would be finished tomorrow around 5PM. I told them I would be home around 6PM from work, but my husband would let them in at the designated time in the morning--their choice. They did not arrive as scheduled, making my husband late for work. We had to leave our home unlocked so they could get in. When I arrived home, the work was far from being done and they were there until 9:30PM. When they "finished" I had to remind them to re-hang the doors they removed and return our appliances to the kitchen. The trash was left in the driveway for days. We called the company and were sent many more seemingly random people that did not speak English. There were cracks in 3 tiles that I was told were too difficult angles to cut, and, worst of all, where the tile met the carpet it looked terrible. The carpet was not tacked down, and there was grout everywhere, and it moved when you walked on it. After much stress, arguing, and wasting the next entire Saturday, the company sent us someone who completed the job the way it should have been done initially. Although we requested the owner to come and see the job, he never came.

Perfect Floors installed hardwood flooring purchased from a flooring supplies store. The flooring supplies store sells only materials and recommended Perfect Floors to install. Materials delivered the day promised but several hours later than agreed. Installers hard working laborers but definitely not artisans. Adhesive was on the surface of the floor nearly everywhere, plus on kitchen cabinets and counter tops. Board color selection was poor - light colored hardwood concentrated in one part of room rather than blending. Doors did not close due to improper installation of reducer strip. Uneven edges where hardwood meets carpet had to be covered with reducer strip to have a reasonable appearance. Installation crew lacked qualified supervisor. Our opinion: speed first, quality last. After complaint, Manny, owner, and crew returned to try to make job presentable. End result is acceptable, but not good. Perfect Floors will never be allowed in this house again.

They ruined $5,000 worth of wood. Used a buffer on prefinished wood to pick up glue and etched the floor with buffer marks. Tried to fix it with a buffer! Just made things worse. Tried to cover it up with oily residue from glue remover and then because the floor was shiny tried to tell me how great it looked. Installation was haphazard and not professional. The next piece out of the box was the one they installed, even if it meant installing five one foot pieces in a row. We will have to have the prefinished floor refinished. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with home improvement. Lumber Liquidators was not much help with this situation either. Lesson learned: Buy the wood and installation from one company who is well established and has a long history of customer satisfaction.

I know that the people from Perfect Floors had a big job ahead of them when I first hired them and I thought they pulled it all off pretty good. I found nothing really wrong that they could have done better. Every room looks great and I would be more than happy to hire them again. I had no problems with the workers and I definitely enjoyed their company. They were very outgoing, but, did good work at the same time.
