Pedro's Handyman Service & Repair

Last year we hired Pedro’s Handyman to do some tile work and a bathroom remodel. They botched the job and after trying to resolve the issues with them via Better Business Bureau, we took them to court and was awarded a judgement of ~$7000 plus interest, but they refuse to pay. As you move forward with home improvement jobs, simple or complex, make sure your contractor has ample insurance; takes responsibility for their work; respects the court decision when judgement is awarded for poor workmanship and has never been sued before.

This is the first review I have ever written about any company, EVER. Since the company service was so awful, I am compelled to write this review, especially since I have been threatened by Dee that she will file a slander suite against me for writing a review about my experience with them (I have the threat in writing). I called for service (Pedro's) because I had a sprinkler leak. Pedro came to my home and completed a complete assessment of my sprinkler system. He agreed to provide an estimate within a few days. I did not hear from him, so I texted him several times for an estimate. After not hearing from him in a timely manner, I finally reached out to another company who had agreed to do the work. Steve comes to my home and tells me that Pedro sent him. Since he was there, I allowed him to do the work and paid him in cash the price he quoted (never got a quote from Pedro). Today, I see that the sprinkler is still leaking. I call Pedro's office to have them come repair it. I speak to Dee. She tells me that Steve and I made this deal on our own and that Pedro is not responsible for it since I do not have a contract with them. I did not know Steve prior to him coming to my home on that day and stating that Pedro sent him. On here, Angie's List, their profile proudly states, "Description Handyman Services with a network of trusted contractors to utilize for larger projects. Cash payment due at time of service." If this is true, why would you employ or send someone to my home who isn't trust worthy. When I spoke to Dee today, she now tells me that Pedro is a plumber and not irrigation (she claims that she told me this before, which is absolutely not true). I would never hire a plumber to do irrigation work. Pedro presented himself as someone who specializes in irrigation, because he checked my entire sprinkler system and left my yard full of his red flags suggesting work that needed to be complete. If he was a plumber and not irrigation, why are you having a discussion with me about raising and moving sprinkler heads. Again, I am writing my first review ever mainly due to my conversation with Dee who refused to try and reconcile this issue or take ownership for Steve showing up at my home. Dee or Pedro had to have given Steve my address, so they had to have approved him doing the work. Otherwise, how did he get my address.

Pedro and Dee made a quick trip out to review the work, and provided a reasonable estimate within minutes of leaving the house, scheduling the work for the next day, and the following if it couldn't be completed. Pedro and his assistant were on-time and brisk, finishing off all these repairs in 3+ hours, professional, high quality. They made sure to check to ensure we were happy with progress and the final product.
