PC Genie

terrific. wound up buying a used laptop at good price.

I found PC Genie on Angie's list after my laptop started giving me error messages all the time and I then really disabled it when I tried to stop Internet Explorer. I called PC Genie and he gave me instructions on how to find the shop. I was concerned about parking in the West Campus area but there was free short-time parking in front of the building. I described the problem I had been having and what I had done. He knew immediately what to do and described the work he planned to do. I left the laptop for repair. He called a few days later to say it was ready. He was exceedingly gracious in dealing with an almost computer- -illiterate older woman. I was very pleased with his work and appreciate his courtesy to me.

The motherboard went out, and we were faced with purchasing a new computer. PC Genie replaced the motherboard for about $220, then ran the computer through rigorous tests for the next few days. We have been using it ever since with no problems. I would definitely use PC Genie again. Very reasonable; he saved us hundreds of dollars.

I received a call the next business day advising that it was fixed! He said that Windows had lost an instruction and he had corrected this. The total cost was only $40, about the best value in Austin. I also was concerned about being able to park in the area as the shop is in the Univ. of Tx area and school is in session. I was pleasantly surprised that there was ample parking as the area was posted for 30 minute parking only. This was ample to go in and get my computer. Willie was very professional and capable in the repair.

Willie understood what I wanted. (two shops I contacted earlier did not understand what was needed). He did the job with dispatch and at a reasonable price.
