On Nov. 9, 2017, I contacted One World Van Lines and spoke with Ashley of the Sales Department. I explained that I was moving from Austin, TX to Ann Arbor, MI in the first or second week of December and we went over what my needs were. I asked specifically about delivery, explaining that I was moving to a very small street and that a semi- truck would not be able to fit. I asked if there was a way to get a smaller truck to do the whole transport from Austin to Ann Arbor. Ashley said it would be really expensive to reserve a truck and it is. She told me about the shuttle option and explained it thoroughly. I chose the shuttle option and the cost was added to my delivery costs as evidenced on my order/bills and the signature showing payment in full. Thus, there is no question that my belongings should have been moved into the smaller truck once in town and prior to arriving at my new home. I found out that my things were to be delivered on December 13th. During the day, the weather worsened and the driver kept in touch. He called early evening to let me know that they couldn’t finish the job they were doing until the next morning and should be to my house by noon on the 14th. Of course I had no problem with that. When the Driver, Viorel Bujulea, arrived at noon on the 14th, he told me that he couldn’t make the delivery because he had a semi- truck that would not fit on my street!!!. He said I could pay him $700 to rent a truck to reload. Or, I could rent a U-Haul and get friends to unload it. I told him I had pre-arranged and paid $1000 for a shuttle & that my items should be ready to unload right then. It was a sunny day and not snowing at this time so had this been done it would have been a great time to unload. He said he would go call the company. I don’t know what company he meant but he had a copy of the paperwork that clearly showed that I had ordered a shuttle for delivery.I called One World but could only get voice mail and no return calls. I sent email too and had no response. I have a copy. The driver didn’t come back for a while, so I went out to look for him and he was walking back. He said the company said it was okay not to charge me and that he had to let his guys go but he would go rent a truck and hire some guys to do the transfer from truck to truck and unload. Of course, this would take about 6 hours.By the time he came back with 2 men he found somehow through Craig’s list and who had never worked for a moving company, it had been snowing for a while and was dark. The Driver got the U-¬haul stuck in street by the end of my driveway and they spent a long time trying to figure out what to do. I gave them wood chips, salt and a shovel but nothing worked. After an hour or so, they decided to start unloading from where they were stuck & also called a tow-truck to pull them out. While unloading they put some of my furniture, boxes, etc. in the snow on the driveway as "staging". Boxes were marked but they did not put things where they belonged, damaged many walls, scraped/chipped wood off a hardwood plank separating two rooms, hid a filigreed heavy metal steel table that they broke (it cannot be repaired), tracked mud on new carpet, left garbage in yard, and damaged trim & doors such that filling & repainting are required. All trim must be painted so it matches. (Later owner offered 75 dollars for me to hire someone from Craig's list to patch the spots - or said a friend could do it) Boxes were stacked in a precarious manner with television placed diagonally with only 2 points touching & on top of ceiling high pile. The entire unload was unacceptable. They did not leave until midnight and rushed out the door. I had put labels pointing to each room and labeled each box. I was exhausted & distraught. I have all documented and pictures. There was no way to do any inventory with they crazy way the unload was done. The Driver charged me more money because I had stairs to the basement that he said he didn’t know about. They cursed and said they could not get my sofa in the house. I showed them how. Had my delivery been made using a shuttle as ordered, I doubt that much of the damage would have occurred. Saying that “I finally got the shuttle” doesn’t apply” as you now understand I’m sure! As I’ve been here a while longer and tried to unpack, I have discovered more damage and it is so disheartening that so much work will have to be done. This house was immaculate when I moved in and this is part of the reason I bought it. The owner was unresponsive until I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. The responder in the comments to the complaint was not identified, but comments were untrue and then the responder stated that the co. was under new management. When I was able to make again direct contact with the owner, he was the same person who has owned the company all along and there was no new management. I have now talked to him extensively working hard to clarify my concerns & why he owes me what he does. I am specifically adamant about the shuttle payment refund. He clearly does not have any idea how business works in terms of handling customer complaints or the company's responsibility to refund the amount paid by the customer for services not provided (the shuttle service). He believes that because the shuttle was finally delivered, even though not as promised, that I should now get on with my life. He stated that he cannot pay me back because he has already paid his contractor and the money is gone. Further, he complained that paying me back would cost him his profit margin. "Maybe a large company can afford that, but I am small and cannot." He said that I have my things and have moved to my new house and it's time to move on and enjoy my life. I tried to explain how business works (actually out of kindness - I never yelled at him - I'm an MBA) but he really does NOT get it. I would not use them again. I have had no resolution and am going to be taking this further.

Calvin, Antonio and Gerardo were my movers at the pickup end. They packed all the furniture with shrink wrap and moving blankets with great care and professionalism. I bagged my queen mattress and didnt expect them to wrap it in sturdy boxes for extra protection. Even when the truck had a flat, they called their repair guy and kept working. They were respectful, courteous and above all very hard-working til the job was complete. Great job guys. Four stars for the sales end though. Ron, however good at getting the deal signed, I felt disappeared after the sale. Also I specifically asked if I should get a parking permit for the truck and his response was the truck was small enough so "not sure. Sure i recommend them for friends and family good job .go one world

I had a very expensive carpet install in the living room. After they finished, one end of the carpet was very frayed. On September 21st I sent pictures over to the owner of the damage that was done and got no response. This included the carpet and a pot that had been broken. I also cannot find the part that holds up my TV.

Description of Work: Horrible service. I would never use or recommend One World Van Lines to anyone. First of all they showed up with one less guy than I paid for and said they wouldn't be able to do the move because one guy didn't show up. I told them I needed to be out by that night and that they would need to. They got on the phone and cussed someone out for 30 minutes and charged me for this time. Eventually they did start the move. They damaged a $2,000 brand new refrigerator. I told them about it and they said to just send pictures of it to a certain email and they would take care of it. To this day they still have not done anything despite several calls and email. They keep saying I should get a call from some third party, which never happens. Stay away from these guys.

Once they got going they moved fast and were efficient. I move with them so that helped motivate. They finished early and moved some other things from the inside of house.

Description of Work: I purchased 2 movers for 3 hours and a truck for $267. But company said they will provide 3 movers and charge $1200.00. I cannot accept their offer and do not use their service. I will only move some small things with in 3 hours, the rest I can move myself or my friends. but they refused just move with the 3 hours. So we do not reach the agreement. You asked the guys to move the whole home witch was almost 2 truck loads and u dont agree to pay any extra hour and you don't want to move partial stuff, you talked to me and you offer 950$ flat and you know for sure that the offer is hourly rate, the guys spend more than 2 hours with you telling them you have friends and offers and to wait to finalize, will sir we would give them something else to do to get paid instead of you telling them to wait you to finalize what you need to get done. Description of Work: I will never use them again!! They complained about my furniture the whole time. They told me I hadn't packed enough when they were only taking my furniture! I asked them to come on Friday and they said they would come back Sunday which threw off my plan of unpacking during the weekend. Then at the end he said he would wave the $50.00 reschedule fee - I said good because I wouldn't pay it anyway, I didn't want to reschedule he did! He acted like he was giving me this great deal before he reminded me to write about the company on Angie's List. I had paid for 6 hours and they took a break in the middle when I bought them water (or what ever they wanted.) At the destination the couch pillows were put on the ground. They kept trying to sell me another man for another hour or more. They got my furniture from point A to point B Less than a mile. It was not a stress free pleasant experience at all!

It took much longer than I expected. They took two trips and charged $200 for the trip charge. Also charged $92 for packaging. Although they sent three men, only one of them are working at 100% efficiency. The other two could work faster. I bought an angieslist deal with $349 for 5 hours with two men. End up spending 10 hours with three men. To be fair, they gave me half an hour discount at the end. But with the long hours, trip charge and packaging charge, it went way beyond the original budget on my mind. I checked with my friends and they all told me that is on the expensive side and I could have found better deals elsewhere.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life! I have moved a lot before, but they were all local moves. This one was long distance. The first contact was nice, and David came to my house to give an estimate, and took pictures of all of my belongings. (This is what is recommended online for a good quote.) Their quote was $2931, which was far below the others I got, so I agreed to let them handle the move. I had told other companies what I had, not seen them in person, so I figured One World was more accurate because they came out to see in person. On moving day, they arrived about an hour late, but had several loaders and it LOOKED like they were doing a good job. I have a lot of nice antique furniture, and I was relieved to see them wrap each piece in blankets, with the blankets taped on around the furniture. They also charged me $126 for packing supplies, like tape for the blankets and boxes for a few things I had in bags. About half way through the move, the lead guy informed me that I had much more things than I had "told" them, and that the cost was going to be a LOT more than the quote. The total was now $5571! I had estimated about 100 boxes, and there were 140, and they kept bringing that up over and over. I kept reminding them that David had looked at every single thing I had, and taken pictures, but they didn't care. I had to be out of my duplex that day, and I had no choice but to pay them and continue. (I had to borrow money just to even do that, as I didn't have extra thousands laying around.) To be THAT far off on the estimate was either stupidity on their part, or deliberate deception to win the bid. I could understand a little increase, but nearly double? NO. I knew that they were going to use a different truck to make the long drive, but again, all looked secure. Well, 6 days later they show up in Mich. with a Uhaul! They made me pay them IN CASH, before they would unload. These were nice guys, but as they started unloading, the first thing I noticed is that there were NO blankets on any piece of furniture! Each piece made the entire long trip with just a little brown paper between items! Every single piece of wood furniture was damaged! Plus an cloth chair was torn and my mattress edges were filthy black (even though I paid $30 for their plastic bags.) WHY would they put on such a show of protecting it all and then remove the blankets?? Astounding. I told the guys how unhappy I was but there was nothing they could do. It took me days to get anyone in the office to call me back, and when they did, all I got were excuses. They kept saying "you said 100 boxes and you were way off" and "you didn't tell the unloaders that anything was wrong,", which was NOT true. By then I was beyond furious. I took pictures of all the damage and submitted it to the company for their paltry 60 cents per pound of coverage, and as of now, many weeks later, I have not heard a a single word from them. Please don't be duped by this company!

Sorry for what happened first,now about the move itself, I talked to you and told you that this matter im taking care from here on so Yes we called you, I told you i was in your delivery myself, and i asked you if you are happy or if there is any damages and there was NONE, only a small fish tank that was inside a box that you packed, the only complain was the price as you told me that you have to get more money from your brother to finish the move, I explain to you 100% why you get charged as you requested from the estimator to put 100 boxes in the first place and he listen to you as a customer now when we deliver your garage, office and living room was full of boxes stacked to the top as the sizes of your boxes mostly large, im open to send any pictures of the move for anybody request them as im sure 100% that this is a fals claim to get some money, we have our hard quality work to give everybody equally, and you could stop the guys loading the truck before you excceed your estimate as this is an option that you dont take. Im working in your claim with the claim department and ill send you updates as on the time i have them , Thank You

During the sales stage everything went smoothly. I was to have my belongings moved from my home in Austin, TX to storage in Austin, TX and held there until they could be moved to my new home in greater San Diego, CA. On the day of the move (March 3, 2015) I supervised the packing of my 1,200 sq. ft. home. The movers packed the kitchen and bedroom. Most of the rest of the home's items were packed (about 30 boxes) by me. Things were packed well. The movers used bubble wrap and a lot of paper for kitchen items and breakables and original artwork. They used blankets to wrap chairs and tables. The mattress and box spring were boxed. This looked very secure, however, when the items were delivered to me on May 25, 2015, the inside of the truck looked a storage locker gone up for auction--a mess. Most boxes were crushed. Most concerning, the mattress and box spring were no longer in a box and in fact were leaning against the side of the inside of the truck, were filthy and now had holes in the cover. Many items that I personally packed were no longer packed with bubble wrap and/or packing paper inside. One box with a one-of-a kind lamp, had no protection from the electric drill packed in the same box. The majority of furniture had received damage ranging from a hole in the side of a box spring to a chunk of wood 4" x 2" gouged out of the side of a valuable night table, to smaller gouges in table tops. Original artwork was damaged as it had not been wrapped or protected. Wardrobe boxes that usually stand about 4 feet high were delivered smashed to 3 feet with holes in the top and sides and the clothes sat dirty in a pile at the bottom -- some not cleanable. I brand new wrought iron table now has one bent leg. A box of very, very old family photos was ripped open on the sides. I will never know if I have all of my family photos. Of the 82 items listed on the bill of lading delivered, 25 had major damage and nearly everything else was had some type of damage: chipped, dented, cracked, stained, ripped, or bent. I am an experienced mover having made 3 long distance moves in the past the past 15 years but have never seen anything like this. I am very distraught over the damage so many precious and valuable items. There is a side note: for the two weeks preceding delivery I tried to reach someone at this company to schedule delivery. With a lot of research we were able to find an alternative number that got us in touch with a person. I have questions... why were boxes seemingly repacked? Was the truck in an accident? Do I have everything that I packed?

First Time i used this company was last week . I was so stressed out by one of the removal company i booked. I call MSS Laura to get a price . Was little expensive but im sure its worth the level of service they provide me in very short time. Im glad i found this company and they did my move. I will definatly use them again. And booked them alredy for sending some itmes to Nevada. Nice, clean , polite. Very honest. Even they found couple of pounds under my bed and mobile phone i was at the other property. After the first call we schedule Onsite estimate, David came he was very friendly and professional, took a video and ask me questions about things that's going and whats not, and explain to me what my estimate is going to be based on, he give me a packing deal, we agree and we set up the date for the move, the guys show up on time, introduce themselves and start working, they was very organized and fast, the team leader was David and that what i like about it, the estimator is the one who do the job (Drama Free ) after they load everything they told me to call 10 days in advance when I'm ready for delivery and i did use there warehouse for 2 months, i called them and they did the delivery as i scheduled, everything as is love there service they assemble everything and it was done good . excellent job i recommend them .

I hate moving, but this move went incredible smoothly!! After reading so many good reviews and speaking with their professional sales person (Jeff) I decided to use One World to move from TX To NC. I have to say it was the least stressful experience i ever had with a moving company. Since the beginning, their staff was very professional, Jeff in specific. He asked for an exact list of items and gave a quote that was a little above the average (but was worth every penny). Two and a half weeks before my move I realized that I need to postpone my move in 2 weeks and called the costumer service, which was extremely supportive and responsive and coordinated everything with no issue. Then I requested the move to start at 8am (since I needed to be out by early afternoon and calculated an hour delay), but the guys arrived exactly on time. They were extremely professional and packed everything so quickly and efficiently. I was really nervous because I have many valuable items but the packing seemed so professional I was really relieved. And eventually I didn't even see a scratch. No Surprises at the end like in with previous movers that I used. I paid a little over the average, but it was totally worth it! If you care about your stuffs choose One World moving
Description of Work: My wife and I were moving from TX to NC, it was extremely difficult to decide on a mover especially when you are being bombarded regularly. My sales agent was very knowledgeable and therefore I hired One World Van Lines . The service was excellent all around .Totally professional, considerate, experts and were a pleasure to work with .
