+ 0 moreHe was able to do my whole list of odd and ends. I think he was there for a little over an hour and did not charge me for it. He was a little late so I think that is why he did not charge me for the little extra he stayed. I thought he was very courteous and I did not have any complaints about the work he did. He did everything very well. He stayed at the job the whole time, did not horse around. I did pay for an additional hour. I thought he was very professional. I even had to run to the store and he just worked on other things until I got back with the part.
Description of Work: I used OnCall Home Services to change door handles, put up curtain rods, and caulking in bathroom.

It was a relief to work with such nice people that worked with me to bring together a beautiful room. I will definitely call on them again for future projects.
Description of Work: I had carpet pulled up, hauled away, and tile cleaned underneath in one room to get ready for hardwood laminate installation. Hardwood laminate was installed and baseboards and window and door trims were painted in same color as laminate.

+ 1 moreContacted this company while we were in town on a short stay to get some work contracted at our newly purchased home. At first I was skeptical because my husband spoke with someone on the phone who said he'd call us back if he could get a handyman scheduled for us during the time we were in town. We didn't hear back for a couple of days and I was starting to think that we were going to have to contact someone else. Before I could come back to Angie's list, my husband's phone rang and we were scheduled. We got a good deal with one of the Angie's Deals, too. The handyman was punctual (early actually) and a hard worker. He needed a supply brought to him and that took some time but he didn't charge us for the time spent waiting. Even though we had to wait for a response, I've got no complaints - after all we called and had a very tight schedule for our requested service dates/times - and I will use this company again in the future.
Description of Work: Horizontal blinds installed over sliding glass door, ceiling fan installation.

+ -1 moreFirst saw a $75.00 Big Deal for 2 hours of labor for Handyman Services. Called the company and they said no worries on paying Angie's List directly. We will take the payment when we arrive. We had scheduled for 10 am, but he did not arrive until 11 am. The worker did not seem prepared as in he came in a personal vehicle and did not have many tools to do the work. Asked me if he could borrow a small step ladder to install the light fixtures. He did not give me a receipt that day. The owner called the next day and wanted to provide a receipt over email. The $75 was dated for the 4/17/13 for 2 hours labor. And then charged for an additional $35 on 4/18/13 for an additional hour of labor. It just seemed that the company was not straight forward with how they were charging me and the professionalism of their work. Will not use or recommend for anyone in the future.
Description of Work: Installed a few light fixtures around the house.

+ 0 moreClint did an excellent job and it only took him an hour. He rolled up the carpet and set it on my curb and they picked it up that same day, even with it raining really hard that day. He also had to scrape the floor underneath because the carpet had left a pretty big mess. He was very thorough in removing the closet doors and putting them back on. I will call on them again.
Description of Work: I needed old carpeting pulled up where there was tile underneath and then the whole floor cleaned and prepared for laminate floor installation.

+ 0 moreThey answered my phone call right away, it did not go to the machine. Josh was very nice, and said that he would send someone out right away. He told me the name of the employee, Kevin, that would be coming out. Kevin came the same day that I called, and was able to give me an estimate and perform the work then and there. He was very knowledgeable and smart. It was very little work that had to be done; he explained exactly what he needed to do. He was finished within an hour, and since I was paying for two hours, he found additional work to do on my fence for me.

Description of Work: I had a new toilet installed, two bathroom showers re-caulked and a tub faucet spout with a jammed deflector replaced. I also had the old toilet disposed off.

+ 2 moreWe own rental houses and our other contractor was out of town so I rushed to Angie's List and left voicemails for 10 handyman and only got two responses back...On Call was one of the fast returned calls. Our renters needed a fence repaired that had blown down and needed it done ASAP. On Call had someone out there the next day & got the job done without issues and for a fair enough price. We are now having them do a small remodel in our kitchen (removing a half wall) next month because it was such a great experience working with them. We'll certainly be using them in the future for repairs on our rental houses or on our own houses!

I have climbed around on ladders and on tree limbs myself in the past, wasn't up to it this year. OnCall did a nice job quickly. Jason called after new year's day to let me know when the crew would be by to remove the lights.
Description of Work: Came to house and wrapped limbs of two large oak trees with white lights for Christmas. I had a couple of strings, they ordered and provided rest of the lights. Crew is coming out to remove lights, roll them up and leave them with me for next year. When part of a strand went out, OnCall crew member came and fixed it immediately with one phone call.

+ 13 moreBeau, his brother Aaron, and Charlie did a superb job in performing the work that we requested--they deserve an A+ for their workmanship, courtesy, attention to detail, and our needs. Be assured that I am not exaggerating because I have evaluated hundreds of individuals as a requirement of my job and they are tops in the field of reconstruction and home repair. They are efficient, do not waste time, and give the customer the best value for their dollar. They worked for us off and on according to our schedule over a two month period of time to complete the tasks we asked them to perform. We would definitely call them back if we have similar work to be performed. Courtesy, respect of the client and their wishes, and professionalism were their greatest attributes.
Description of Work: The team worked in five rooms and two hallways and performed the following: Smoothed the rough texture of all walls, removed popcorn texture from all ceilings Painted all rooms and ceilings with matt paint Painted all trim throughout the rooms and window frames with satin paint Cleaned by sanding the Saltillo tile on the patio and applied several coats of sealer Painted the interior of the fireplace pit with 'engine' paint to match the beige of the outer brick Removed the fire screen, cleaned and painted it, and attached a new wire mesh closure to the screen Cleaned/sanded and waterproofed several feet of pavers on the front entrance and walkway and applied several coats of sealer and urethane Caulked two living room beams and repainted them Adjusted the front door, sanded it on the interior and painted with semi-gloss paint Painted interior of laundry/utility room with several coats of a bright color after removing rough texture on all surfaces Installed ceramic tile on laundry room floor after removing old vinyl tile Tore apart wall board of lower floor area of one room because of water damage, reinstalled new insulation, and reapplied new drywall then repainted Sanded and painted laundry room/utility bi-fold doors Reattached/repaired missing plasterboard in one room due to earlier re-wiring then painted room Installed four ceiling recessed lights and fan in one room Caulked all shoe baseboard molding throughout the rooms

+ 2 moreI was hesitant to ask someone to do these small time tasks that I just didn't want to take on myself, but Beau was very happy (it seemed) knock them out for me. He was very flexible on the time and arrived punctually. He is an easy person to talk to, he listens to what is needed and then he does it all quickly and competently. The whole experience was very comfortable. I'm glad to know someone I can call on for pretty much anything I need some help with: someone I can trust both to do a professional job and to charge a fair price. He offered to come back for free if I had any problems with the stairs or the toilet, but everything seems fine. I'll definitely want to ask him to do other work in the future.
Description of Work: 1. replaced a rotted step on stairs leading off of raised deck. 2. fixed leaking toilet.
