I have already purchased a door and frame. The provider said during my estimate that it would be an all day job and acted like he did not want to honor the deal, he wanted to charge me much more than the deal, $489 plus labor. I knew what I was talking about in the time frame of getting this door installed. I did specify that I was a member of Angie's List.

I recently purchased a home and booked the handyman for the day after closing to do the items that had come up on the inspection list. Scheduling by phone was easy, handyman was prompt. The handyman was very helpful and was really a jack of all trades who did quality work- he did everything from adjusting sprinkler heads to installing a blind over a bathroom window (that ended up needing to be custom cut). He did caulking, installing a ceiling fan (which is perfect!), fixing doors, etc. I would definitely use them again- I felt like price was very good and jobs were done right the first time. They were reliable, polite, and did things right.

I called today and hoped for an appointment within 48 hours. OnCall was able to work me in their schedule and had the job completed within 3 hours of my initial call. I'm sure a little luck played into the timing, but I really appreciate Beau's willingness to make it happen! I will definitely call OnCall Home Services the next time I need handyman services.

Purchased $75 deal for 2 hour handyman service. THe handyman came on time and get everything done with 2 hours. Very satisfied.

Bought the Service on Angies List, but when I talked to Oncall home services, I found out that the deal was for handyman work, like paint, light construction, etc. I needed repair work. They were very nice about it, and were happy to allow a refund

I purchased the Big Deal to get some appliance reapir done, but he doesn't do that kind of work. He was very honest and professional.

The man arrived on time, got right to work and completed everything within the time alloted. I would use this company again.

They were in and out in a couple hours and followed up after to make sure everything was working well. I'd use them again for repairs/projects aroundthe house.

I am a new resident to Austin and found this company on Angie's List. The handyman arrived on time, was extremely professional and he did a fantastic job! I highly recommend them.

It was fine. I spent quite a bit more than what I had purchased the big deal for. The total cost of the service was maybe somewhere around $1000 at least. I got a front door replaced and that was like $500.

This was a bad experience. The vendor set up an appointment for 10:00 am on 10/11. The repairman was a no-show and I had even taken vacation time from work to be available. Then when we contacted him after the appointment had already been scheduled and missed, he informed us that we were outside of his service range and therefore would have been charged an additional $35.00 fee for him to drive from Austin to Round Rock!!!! I looked up the mileage and it is 19.2 miles distance and this is mostly freeway. That's about $6.00 in gas for travel both ways! He also overemphasized that each additional hour would be another $40.00. This company seems extremely opportunistic.

I bought the $549 Angie's list coupon (2 painters for 8 hours per day). I just purchased a brand new home and wanted the great room, kitchen area and master bedroom painted. The home is a small home and 8 ft and 9 ft ceilings. Therefore, this was not a large area to paint. On Call was very responsive with setting up my appointment. They told me they had a vendor who could come to my home, the day of the appointment, to mix my paint. The vendor is supposed to be with Valspar. The workers were supposed to show up between 8am - 9pm. They showed up at 9:30 am. I received a phone call beforehand to tell me the paint vendor was not going to be able to come out until 1:00 pm. Of course, that was not acceptable since they were supposed to paint for 8 hrs. This caused an intial host of problems because I didn't have any paint. When the painters arrived, we had to go as a group to the paint store to pick up the paint. However, since I only had this one day off, I scheduled another trade person to come at 10:00 am to measure my kitchen for other work, thinking the painters would have already started their process. Since the painters didn't show up until 9:30am, I had to leave the paint store, meet the other company and then head back to the paint store to buy the paint. The painters consistently told me the wrong amount of paint to buy. Therefore, I had to go to the paint store 3 more times during the day to buy more paint. Overall, the work they did was very basic based considering painting I have had done at other homes. The painters did not have the proper equipment to reach to ceilings. In fact, I had to stand on my kitchen countertops to paint an area they could not reach! I can now see the roller marks in the paint now that it has dried. They took forever just to paint my great room and kitchen. The master bedroom was not done. They did not leave until almost 8:00 pm. Lastly, they got paint splotches on my brand new floors! I was very upset. I called and spoke to one of the owners with my concerns. I will say they and the painters were very nice. They did not charge me for the time over the 8 hr period the painters stayed. However, I will not use them for future projects.

I agreed for the provider to arrive at my home by 9 am. The morning of the project the provider called by about 8:30 am and indicated that he could not get to my home by 9 am and could he come by 10 am. I indicated that, that was fine, as I was a little under the weather and could sleep in a little longer (but I also unexpectedly was scheduled to go to work because the staff was short handed and needed the extra help and would need to leave my home by 2 pm). So the handyman needed to be here by 10 am in order to have plenty of time to finish my project. 10 am arrived and there was no handyman, he did not actually arrive until 11 am. Arriving this late the individual had to rush to make sure he got everything done. The wall entry pet door is sometimes tricky. When checking the the wall entry pet door, corner of the wall entry pet door is lose and not securely fastened to the wall.

I called at about 8:15 on a Saturday morning, and some one was at my house by 10:00 the door lock was fixed with some adjustments to the door hinges and a little bit of shaving off the door. Done by 11:15. , my house could be secured, and I could enjoy my weekend. They truly were "on call" and came through at a reasonable price. What a relief!

After purchasing an Angie's List promo deal for a handy man for 8 hours for a special set price, we contacted On Call to do an onsite review of the work we wanted done and to schedule the work to be performed. While they were onsite, we also discussed additional projects we had and the work and cost for them. We purchased a wooden closet organizer system from Lowes. We had completed part of the project, but due to a lack of time to do it ourselves needed someone to install the closet rods and the shelves that went along the walls above the rods in the top of the closet. We also wanted some new shelves built in one of our guest bedroom closets. We were told this could be done in the 8 hours we had purchased with our promo deal. The guy that came out did a good job, but he was a little slow. It took him the full day to install the master closet rods and shelves. He was unable to do the other guest bedroom shelves we needed . I contacted On Call's office and we scheduled the closet shelves and some of the additional work we requested to be performed as well. They sent out a different handyman to do this work. He was scheduled to be onsite at 8 am, but called at 7:30 am, and said they had made a last minute schedule change and he had to push us to noon. He called again around 11 am and said it would be closer to 1 pm. When he arrived he started on the laundry room. He installed the new dryer vent pipe in the wall through the attic and cut a new hole in the wall to install the recessed dryer vent connection box. We found an issue once the wall was open, and we needed to reroute the plumbing pipes for the washer in the wall to allow for the dryer vent box to fit. We put the dryer box install on hold until the plumbing work was completed. We called again to the On Call office and scheduled the guy to come back out and finish the remaining work. We ended up getting rescheduled multiple times over the next several days and the guy ended up coming out a week later. The handyman started on the bedroom and bathroom closet shelves. After 3 weeks of again scheduling and rescheduling the handyman to come out the closets were completed, the dryer vent box was installed, and new base boards were installed in the bathrooms. When the work was completed we noticed multiple issues. The finish work details that we expected just did not happen. The nails came through the top surface of the shelves and should have had the excess removed to provide a smooth surface. The caulking that was done where the shelves met the wall or met up to another board was sloppily done leaving a lot of excess caulk on the shelves. One of the shelves that was installed in our guest bedroom closet had an inch gap from the wall and was not on it's main support board at all. When I put our stuff back in the closet on the shelf it noticeably sagged in the middle right away. All of the shelves that were installed were covered in saw dust and we had to clean them ourselves. The dryer vent box was installed in the incorrect location on the wall and did not match up with the connector on our dryer. The wall board that was installed to replace the wall board that was ripped out in the laundry room to fix the plumbing issue and allow for the dryer vent to be installed was not properly attached to the wall. We contacted On Call about the issues and they sent the guy back out to fix the nail tips that were sticking up and he also fixed the sagging shelf in the guest bedroom closet, but the laundry room issues were not corrected and we fixed them ourselves along with the excess caulk on all of the shelves. They compensated us on the price we were charged due to the issues we had. I think a lot of the scheduling issues they had were due to selling a lot of their Angie's list deals and not having enough staff to perform the work. The shortage of workers seemed to also be driving their quality issues as well, but you do only get one chance to make a first impression. I do not think it is likely we will use them again.

This is my 2nd time use this company. It turned out to be much worse than the 1st time. First, I asked Josh to assign a handyman who is good at drywall repair. He was not able to get me anyone. This handyman is not good at drywall work. It took him more than 9 hours to do a few small ceiling patches. An experienced handyman would have done it within 4 hours. Because they charge by hours, I ended up paying twice as others would charge. Second, they were not honest on hours. This is rental house, so I didn't stay the whole time to monitor the work. The hours they charged me is more than what tenant told me they worked. I don't think I will use them again.

They seemed to have good intentions, but couldn't get it together. They completely missed an appointment one day and when they did come, never gave me a quote. They called to say my estimate would be ready by the end of day, but then called the next day and said that was an error- they needed to schedule another appointment to re-assess the area. The office girl always gave too much information. I didn't want to hear that they couldn't see me because they were working North, South, and West Austin that day so traveling wouldn't make sense. Reading me the scheduling details for every day isn't necessary. I was told they had a change in management during this time so it was chaotic, but I wouldn't recommend them.

The cabinet was installed however, the lack of preparation was disturbing. I sent the following note directly to the service provider and have not gotten a response: Just wanted to let you know I was very disappointed by your workmen. After making several trips back & forth to the truck to get what should have been standard tools to install a cabinet, I started giving him mine. I gave him a rubber mallet to set a brand new cabinet rather than the metal claw hammer he was using. He didn't have a tape measure or needle nose pliers. He shocked himself on the outlet and rather than asking me to shut the power down, he later tripped the circuit when working on the outlet a second time. He took now precautions to cover the brand new $1200 range he was working above. When I started covering it in card board, he commented he would drop anything...meanwhile there was saw dust coming down where he was working. He "eyeballed" the cabinet, never used a level. When it came time to unpack & install the microwave oven under the cabinet, they misplaced the directions and wasted time looking for them.... then informed me that the unit I purchased was "the wrong one" for my ductless cabinet. I had to remind him to retack the moulding in place, which had him go for another 5-7 minute trip to the truck for his compressor (which he used for 3 nails). He did no clean up when he left. I had some one load the microwave into my car and trekked back to Home Depot only to find that the microwave could in fact be installed and that it ws made to handle both a duct and/or ductless system. I arranged for Home Depot to install the unit on Friday. Although I had asked for quotes on doing other work (BEFORE any work was done in my house by your guys) for a patio enclosure, gutters and repairing the garage sheet rock, installing an attack access ladder and a few more jobs, you can forget that... Given the laundry list of projects I have, I would have thought they'd be working to impress me. I wasn't impressed.

It didn't go very well, I felt like the rushed a number of things and as a result they had to come back and fix some things.

A time sensitive job due to the fact that other contractors were scheduled to replace countertops and install tile. Jonalyn worked with me on the timing and met my requirements and was pleasant in the process. David was punctual, courteous and professional. Highly recommend.

The Handyman that arrived was helpful professional and most of all quick with all the work we had to get done. Even though I had to go to buy an extra timer switch (the one that I had was faulty) he was willing to wait and complete any other work we had around the house. The only downside is that they are a tad on the expensive side. Was very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend this company to others.

In terms of over-the-top, there wasn't anything that stood out to me. OnCall Home Services did everything as advertised. They were right on time. They were neat and clean. They did a nice work. They finished and got everything done in the time allotted. They worked nicely for everybody. I didn't end up spending more than the big deal purchase.

The service went very well. They are really fast. They did a really good job. I would use them again if I have anything else to put together. There wasn't anything that I wasn't happy with.

We own rental property & have had 2 recent fences in need of repair. We called OnCall for both repairs & they did a fantastic job arriving the next day & making repairs at a reasonable cost. The first repair was to a section of fence that had fallen into a neighboring yard. The other repair was to a wooden side gate that was not functioning. They made both repairs very quickly & they look great! They're now on my speed dial for when something goes wrong or is in need of repair at our rentals!
