They did a fine job. I would hire them again. They came when they were supposed to come and did what they were supposed to do. They had an appropriate schedule.

Email communication was satisfactory. Beau Delozier called to confirm the appointment. When he realized I lived in a different county than where he works, he advised that Angie's List made a mistake with the posting. He said he covers only Travis County and Angie's list posted Travis, Hays, and Williamson counties. (I live in Hays County.)He then asked if I was agreeable to paying the technician extra money for "gas". This was a red flag for me, but I agreed to do so because I needed the work done AND I didn't realize at the time that I could just cancel the deal and get a refund. He suggested $20.00 extra then changed it to $10.00 because the technician's appointment before mine was also going to be in Hays County. Rick, the technician arrived and I explained what work I wanted done on the front door. He adjusted the door so it would close more snugly, but now it is harder to engage the dead bolt lock. Although the weather stripping was in good condition, I had pre-purchased new weather stripping in case it was needed after the door was adjusted. He then said the weather stripping needed to be replaced-not because of the adjustment, but because it had paint on it. There was only one small area of a brush stroke of paint that had gotten onto the weather stripping so I didn't understand why it needed to be replaced. He then said the weather stripping I purchased was not the right type so I made a plan to go purchase what he wanted (3 long pieces). He removed two pieces of the weather stripping from the front door and left one piece. The next issue was to examine the front door lock. I could intermittently lock it with my key, but I could not unlock it. When he tried my key, it didn't lock or unlock so he said it was a bad key. We then tried another key and that worked fine, so it's plausible that my key was the problem even though it worked intermittently. However, he said he would need to rekey the lock even though I now had a functioning key. I told him I would just cut a new key and he said that wouldn't work because I needed the original key or I would just be cutting bad keys. This did not make sense, but I stopped arguing with him. He said he needed a new key (which I had) and the special tool that goes with the smart key locks that I had. I produced both and he rekeyed the front door. A few minutes later he asked me for the special tool so he could rekey the back door. I told him he had not given it to me. He said he had and I again told him he had not given me the tool. He then told me I would have to get a new one when I went to get the weather stripping. It was bad enough that the tool was apparently lost, but his tone of voice was very disrespectful and rude. I then said I shouldn't have to go get another tool and he said he didn't understand what I was getting upset about, that life was too short to get angry. At this point, I asked him to leave. Once he was gone, I looked for the special tool and it was on my front porch by the door. I would also add that I explained to him that I wanted the back screen door rescreened. This required two small pieces of screen. I already had all the tools ready for the job. He said he was a carpenter and not a screen guy and that he didn't like to do screens because they were hard to get straight and he was a perfectionist. Aside from the disagreement in the work, he was very unprofessional, rude, and condescending. After he left, I rekeyed the front door to the original key and installed the weather stripping myself. I called On Call Home Services and left a voicemail explaining that I had had a very negative experience with their technician and that I wanted a full refund. Julie returned the call and I explained to her what happened. She apologized and said she was surprised to have this type complaint about Rick because he had a good reputation among the customers and they usually ask for him. She told me that I had to contact Angie's list to get the refund and she provided me with the contact number.

They were useless and it did not work out for me. They did not do what I wanted them to do. They did not do a good job. They sent one person out to do the job.

They do not seem organized and wanted to charge a trip charge but didn't have a specific amount and wanted me to give the estimator cash. Just doesn't seem to be on the up and up. Update: 7/1/2014 One of the employee called and apologized which was nice but then Beau Dellozier, the owner, called this afternoon in an effort to try to intimidate me to take my review off and I am not going to.

The ceiling fan/light in our dining room was coming out of the ceiling. Whoever put up the original had mounted it with only 1 large nail into the ceiling stud. Repairs included building a new brace for the fan and installing it in the attic so the fan could be mounted properly. Luckily I found a BIG DEAL on Angie's list for $89 for 2 hours handyman service. They contacted me right away and after a brief explanation of the problem we scheduled for the fan to be remounted. The handyman arrived on time and was professional. Within 2 hours he had the fan installed and working again.

We were told we'd be able to get about 250 ft of baseboards installed with one day's labor. While the quality of work was good, he only got 2/3 of the baseboards done after 10 hours of work. At that pace, we have to find someone else to finish the baseboards and install quarter round. The guy who came out spent too much time doing things we said we'd do ourselves (sweeping, moving furniture out of the way), including 45 minutes at the end to sweep up the sawdust in the room he was working in. Also, be careful if you have pets in the house. We had to remind him a dozen times to shut the door behind him and we still found it open after he left for the day. I'm amazed none of our animals escaped.

Jonalyn (dispatcher /office mgr) was great at answering questions, gathering information & requirements (pictures) for the project, assessing full set of needs to determine right handy man for the job. Bobby (handyman) was great - he previously had a door & window business. He did a great job on the doors and window trim. Bobby did a great job cutting out & removing the media box from the ceiling, however was not the best guy for the sheetrock patch. It took several phones calls over 7 days to get someone else out to fix the patch job. Their best sheetrock person was on another job. At the end of the day it was much better floating / skimming job. We sent photos of each area (individual windows & media box in the ceiling) spoke to dispatcher several times. There were a few communications glitches, but nothing earth shattering.. I recommend them and have used several times.

Beau at OnCall Home Service was extremely prompt and polite when calling me back to discuss my project. He explained everything in detail and reached out to a couple of his subcontractors to see if they would be able to perform the work for the amount of the deal I purchased. Unfortunately, we could not make it work. Beau was a pleasure to talk to and I would definitely contact him again should I have a future project.

The service went well. They put in a pet door for the garage and adjusted the front storm door. The technician was very contentious and hard working. He completed the service in about 2 hours and scheduling was very easy.

I called to schedule an appointment but received their answering machine. I left an message and Beau called me back within 2 hours. Very courteous and responsive. We scheduled a time for his technician, Rick, to come and work on my doors. The day of the appointment, Rick called me and said he was on his way and would be there shortly. He arrived on time and did an excellent job of fixing my doors. He even explained what he was doing and told me what I could do to avoid the problem in the future. He was very courteous and efficient. He finsished within the specified time and then cleaned up afterwards. I will definitely use OnCall Home Services again if the need arises.

I contacted Beau after seeing a special deal for carpentry work. He immediately responded to my question. When I spoke with him on the phone, I explained what I was needing help with but didn't know how long it would take. Beau was awesome and worked with me on the price. Rick came out to do the work, which included adding trim to a vanity, adding a section of baseboard, and adding a transition piece to the bathroom entry. Not only did Rick call me when he was en route, he showed up on time (very impressive for a contractor!). Rick did an excellent job fixing an awkward gap. It wasn't what I had in mind, but I am happy with it. Rick also gave me a lot of good advice. He explained everything thoroughly to me and I would highly recommend hiring him.

He was absolutely amazing. He walked em through everything and what my best options were. It didn't work out but he was great to interact with. He got was timely when calling me, and was very polite.

I am trying to do a remodel in Austin, while I live out of state. We have had a difficult time getting workman to commit to a date when I fly in to Austin for a few days. We will have the days set, but then they do not show. I called Beau Delozier a week ahead because I was impressed with the reviews I read here on Angie's list, and he lined up his carpenter for us. I was not disappointed. The carpenter stopped by the evening before to check out the job and what materials he might have to pick up the next day. He arrived punctually the next morning, got right to work, seemed very knowledgeable and professional and finished the job in a little less time then he had specified. Because I didn't have another quick job for him, for the few minutes left he brainstormed with me about some of the other carpentry projects that needed to be completed. I was very satisfied with this first small job. I hope to have Beau's workmen help with several other projects that need to be completed. I found his prices very competitive and he is very good about returning calls.

Wow! Beau is super responsive and always checks on his subcontractors daily as well as gives us frequent updates. Beau was super easy to work with and flexible. I can't wait to get his help when we are ready to redo the kitchen.

Rick was on time, professional, and did a great job! He worked fast which freed up the rest of the time for other odds and ends around the house. Highly recommend!

It went very well overall. The door frame was never properly installed and I've had open space due to the door not seating properly. The technician arrived on time. I call Richard a technician rather than "repairman" because he truly is a door technician... he really understands them. He fixed the lock and door latch perfectly. When he finished the weather stripping it was much better but not completely resolved. I called him the next morning and he came back within the hour of my call. The weather stripping simply would not seat properly at the lower right corner. Richard took some heavy folder material and cut out several shims for the two lowest hinges. After they were installed, the door closed perfectly .... not even light was coming through any part of the door. It was art, I swear to it. Additionally, I had some trim on the chimney box outside that had rotted and I had a leak that was allowing water to drip inside the fireplace inside the house. This project was separate from the door issue so he quoted a fair price, installed the new trim, calked it and it is perfect. He also noticed that the top of the original trim piece was causing a shingle to buckle. So, he worked that, got the shingle settled and did some caulking on that. To my surprise, it resolved the leak on the inside of the fireplace. Richard has a great demeanor, professional at all times but great attitude. I would recommend him as one of the top contractors I've ever met. Very well done!

Did some work on our older set of french doors. Very informative as we found out the doors were not put in correctly before we lived in the home. We also discovered the bottoms of the doors are rotting out, but Despite this He was able to reset the doors to close properly and fixed a gap under the threshold. The gentemen was very nice and provided lots of information about what we would need to get order a new set of doors in the future. My only complaint was that he was 45 minutes late for the appointment, but he called to let me know and finished the work in a timely manner.

We were replacing the door jamb bc we were planning on having tenants move in. The day the service was scheduled, the stupid electric company shut off the power on the wrong day. The poor guy had to come out again and fix it another day. He was very accommodating with the schedule and the work is great.

I purchased and Angies Big Deal they offered 3 hours of labor for $99. They contacted me in short order about scheduling and appointment and were on time on the scheduled day and time.

All went well with the fix.

Eric called 30 minutes prior to arrival to let me know he was coming. It was a 9am trip from South Austin to Georgetown so it took him 20 minutes longer in traffic. He offered to go to Home Depot for the supplies needed and still completed to service in the 3 hours the Big Deal paid for.

I purchased the $99 deal for three hours of door maintenance. The service was scheduled, and I was advised to have the needed materials, which included new weather stripping and locks, available for the appointment. I purchased the weather stripping and two locks, and Rick was prompt and very professional. He showed me where one of my French doors was in poor repair and recommended I purchase a new set of doors. He gave me a list of all the materials he will need to install the French door, which was retrofitted from a sliding glass door, and I will definitely have OnCall Home Services replace that door as well as a screen door on my porch that needs to be replaced. Beau has already provided the estimate, and I will be ordering the new doors in the next two weeks. I definitely want Rick to return to perform the work.

First off ? very timely ? Rick was exactly on time and I live out in the country (hard to find place). Once we went over everything that I wanted to get done in three hours, he started right-a-way. Before I knew it he was done and I thought that the back french doors would probably take all three hours as they were really out of alignment due to builder discrepancies. So I found some more doors in the home that had minor issues and Rick fixed those too. So as you can imagine I was extremely pleased. Also the wife noticed the difference in the doors as soon as she came home from work, which it's got to be good for here to give an A+ ? to top all of this off, the owner of ONCALL called me the day before Rick arrived and told me that if he finished up before the three hours that I could get him to do an other home repairs that I might have. That's unusual in itself these days ? to go above and beyond. Needless to to say any further ? I was impressed, very pleased and very happy with Rick's work and the service p;roved by ONCALL.
