Wanted additional $35 for "gas" money to come to Georgetown although coupon said Williamson county area was covered....said they would take $20 if we pd in cash.....wanted my husband to buy material or go with contract team to purchase material......how would he know what to buy..she said to take a picture and they would tell us what we needed.said this was standard practice. No thanks....

I needed some repair to some wood rot on my chimney. They wanted to charge me an additional $500 since this is above the height limit. They also wanted to charge me a service charge to come to my area. I never read anything about them not servicing my area, especially charging any other fees. The deal specifically states that they service my county. The woman on the phone stated they do not service outside of Austin without a service fee. I am just canceling this deal with this provider.

The company could not do the services I needed.

Communicated with vendor shortly after purchase but the service could not be completed within needed trim frame.

This company is very professional; unfortunately we were not able to use them due to scheduling issues.

My husband had already built a frame for the downstairs deck with measurements at approximately 9'x16'. The carpenter was instructed to make sure the frame was complete and then install the composite deck boards. However, after 6-7 hours of work, he didn't change much upon my return. He replaced some nails with screws, make-shift leveled a couple of deck boards by putting scrap wood under them which made the boards sit too high from the cement portion of the porch, and managed to get a bracket stuck in-between the only two deck boards he installed. For mastery carpentry, he was hardly that. Not to mention, I sat there and watched him spend almost a full hour picking up his tools which weren't many. He gave my husband the impression that he was very detail oriented, but the details he failed on were details that shouldn't have even been an issue in the first place. Disappointing, but lesson learned, and unfortunately, we won't be using this company again.

Dr. Door is a great artist. When he was finished, I had a beautiful front entrance. He even replaced the cement at the stoop to remove a long standing cat urine odor. The only problem was that I had to keep going back to the hardware stores to get exactly what he wanted to make the entrance beautiful. I will admit that I started to stress a bit when I was back at the store for the third time. I finally asked him to join me to help pick out the materials. That went better, but I think it would have been easier to find out certain stores did not have what we were looking for by phone instead of driving there. When he was finished, he gave us precise directions as to how to stain the trim. I finished this, and the result was well worth the effort!

Showed up on time and completed the work as described. The back wall where the tv was hung was left a mess but it's really not visible.

The service provider was very good at scheduling, but said we had to provide all the material before the service date. We do not know what material to provide, which is why we needed at contractor for help. They said that this is not what we purchased, only their time. We wanted someone to do the job start to finish.

Fantastically. The repair guy showed up on time, took the time to do the job thoroughly, and was finished within an hour. Now that the door has been repainted (done by the condo association), the damaged area looks as good as new.

Summary: An extremely knowledgeable and courteous tradesman - Dr. Door (aka RIck) clearly takes great pride in his work. While the total price I paid was on the high side, the work was done the right way and should last decades. Details: We had a leaking exterior door that had been replaced about 8 years ago. The "new" door worked for a few years, then it too started leaking. I purchased a 3 hrs for $99 deal for door repair from OnCall on Angiie's List. Rick can out and after some exploratory "surgery" quickly diagnosed the problem: the people who installed the door were incompetent. He was amazed at what a poor job they had done, and pointed out all their mistakes that led to multiple sites of failure. Even though I had paid for 3hrs of work, it only took Rick one hour to decide the door needed replacement and to give me a very detailed specs for the replacement door (special order) and all the supplies needed for the install. After a trip to Lowes to special order the door and pick up the supplies, I called OnCall to schedule the install. The first available slot after the door was to arrive was three weeks away. On the day of the install, Rick was punctual and set to work right away. The only problem was that I picked up the wrong type of shims, so I had to make a quick run to Lowes to get the right ones. Oh, and there was an incident with my dog walking across the threshold right after Rick and shot a whole tube of silcone sealant on it, but that's another story... During the install, Rick gave me a few pointers and identified a few non-door related problems with the house that I was not aware of. Unfortunately, after he was done, there was no good way to replace the siding around the exterior of the door - so I will need to get another contractor out to go that work (and fix some other siding problems Rick caught for me). Bottom line: I paid $665 in labor, $500 for the door, and nearly $100 for supplies, and still have to find and pay a contractor to replace the siding. But, it rained this morning and the door did not leak - yeah!

We purchased a Big Deal from this company but, when we called to schedule services, additional fees were cited that had not been included in the information provided about the deal.

David came out on Friday morning to work on my doors. When he got there I showed him all the doors that I wanted worked on and explained what problems I was having on each one. He promptly went to work after that. Along the way he explained what he saw that was causing the issues on each door and how he was going to fix it. My back door had much more serious issues that what I had originally saw. He pointed out the issues he found with the door and what he could do to resolve/alleviate them. He also explained what needed to be done to permanently fix the issues with the back door. He was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable and I appreciated him taking the time to explain what was causing the issues with the doors and how he was going to fix them. He did a great job!

Beau DeLozier arrived at the scheduled time and was very pleasant and professional in his approach to analyze my wish list. He helped me understand the relative costs of the work I was wanting performed and suggested good ideas for achieving the remodel in a reasonable fashion.

He was late coming out. When I bought the deal, a lady called me the next dayand told me the soonest he could come out was 07/21 to work from 8-12, but he didn't come out until around 9:30. When he came out he was nice, but after he checked out the work I wanted to apply the deal to, he said the stairs needed replaced entirely (he said they were rotted and are unsafe), so I have decided to cancel the deal.

Everything was great. The gentleman showed on time, did a good job with the repairs, and cleaned up after himself.

The handyman seemed motivated to do a good job. He fixed the most obvious problems in the time allowed and made recommendations for future work. This will most likely be an on-going project.

Professional, quick follow-up after purchase; but, their availability was too far into the future..more than a month.

I was able to make the repair myself. The service provider was prompt in returning my phone call and understanding in my request for a Big Deal refund. Angie's List was very professional when I requested a refund. The refund process is efficient and well designed. Painless!

Called the vendor and discussed the use of the Deal... While they said they would honor the amount of the deal for any service, the deal was primarily for door adjustment... I was looking for door refinishing and the price of the door refinishing was quite a bit more than I expected based on their over the phone estimate...

The company contact I worked with was very prompt and efficient and provided an estimate to me in a very timely manner. The estimate was a lot more then I was expecting and have decided that we are not in need of this service at this time.

I gave very little description of what I wanted since I wasn't perfectly clear myself about what I wanted. What I really wanted was for someone to come out and fix these things in the right way, using some expertise that I don't have about what the possibilities were to guide the completion of the projects. This is exactly what Rick did. He knew what would fix these problems in the best way leaving me not only with a problem solved but a better situation all around. For instance, he remounted the screens which were originally secured with six finishing nails with eight screws, improving not only the looks but obviously also the strength of the whole set up. He also shaped up a piece of one - by - one cedar to match the rest of the railing on the stairs. This I would never have asked him to do; I would have been happy with a railing that worked, but he gave me a railing that worked and also looked great. In the living room he also fastened the railings to studs which of course they should have been in the first place but weren't. Everything he did was solid professional workmanship. And he was on top of that a very pleasant person to work with.

He had to use a ladder on my upper deck to seal around some picture windows that were rather high up. Just standing on that upper deck gives me vertigo, so I appreciated his nerve to work on a ladder there. The work was finished in good time, and I am quite satisfied.

They were responsive and professional. The estimate was just well over what I was ready to pay for this project.
