It was fine. I don't think there were some additional cost. They were quite prompt. I made the appointment. I mad it for after the holidays and they totally understood that. They were very friendly and the gentleman arrived on time. He works very hard. He was very pleasant and very professional. Most of the quality was an A. The tile grout was an A. He also grouted around our shower door and that kind of was a C. He was a very nice man. Around the shower door, it just wasn't quite as smooth as the tile.

The On Call worker arrived around 12:10 pm. He had just finished a job before he came over. He looked like he had just finished a drywall or paint job by his clothing and shoes. Nothing wrong with that but didn't take his work boots off when he stepped in my house. (He did take them off later.) I showed him what needed caulking and where then allowed him to do his work. He finished the guest bathtub caulking job. He did a good job on that. Then on to the kitchen where the existing caulk between the tile backsplash and granite countertops is a "clay" color. Some areas were cracked and beginning to separate from the granite counter tops. He didn't have a color that was anywhere near the "clay" color. Of the 3 colors he had white, a dark brown and a lighter color none of which matched or even close. I asked about other colors available. He said I only had 3 colors to choose from and didn't offer any immediate solutions. Then I showed him my copy of the Angie's Deal voucher I purchased and pointed to the bullet where it said "other colors available for an additional fee". He quickly glanced at the voucher details and said "I don't know anything about that"? Imagine my surprise that On Call doesn't educate their workers about their own Angie's List coupons and all the details? He then offered to run to Home Depot to try and match the color after I told him I wasn't going to go. I don't know what to look for when buying caulk..I don't know anything about caulking....that's why we hired On Call. I did have to pay for the caulk which was fine with me. He left around 12:50 pm. I noticed the time because the Deal Description states one worker for up to 3 hours. When he returned, the color he purchased still looked a little lighter than the existing but I said okay go ahead with the job because I was getting frustrated and time was running. He finally finished the job which was sloppy at best. Both bathtubs were left dirty from the caulking for me to clean as well as my kitchen granite countertops. Whatever the case he remained polite and friendly throughout the job. Based on the results this deal was not worth the $149.99 (+ the out of pocket cost for additional caulk) we paid. The caulking was applied unevenly and looks worse that what it did before because the colors don't match.

The service worked out pretty well. I did not incur any additional charges to the Big Deal. The handyman was on time and got everything done that I asked him to. There was nothing I really disliked at all. There were some things that he could have done a little bit better.

The company will only do work up to 8 feet off the ground for the deal. My specific need is higher than that and unable to be done under the big deal offer. I have now requested a refund for the big deal. They were very nice and would do the job but not for the big deal price.

It went well. The tech arrived and corrected both problems within 40minutes

i did not read the fine print. the "deal" would cost me an extra $35 for travel to Cedar Park. Cut my losses. I believe the guy said his trucks were coming from Universal City, north of San Antonio. Don't know if that is Angies List or On Call's design of the deal. I don't think service people should be going beyond a 1 hour max drive time from home base and therefore should not show up on Austin listings. Unless the service provided is extremely specialized and then put the limitations and extra charges in larger, bolder print.

I had plaster applied to damaged areas surrounding a window, around a fireplace, a small area of peeled-off wallpaper, a couple of nickel-sized holes in a wall. The application was slightly sloppy but the repairs sound. The craftsman left smears of plaster on nearby A/V cables, drapes, and windows, and left debris for me to clean up. This was despite the knowledge that there was ample time to do the work. I do also have an area of popcorn ceiling that is peeling due to moisture, but despite my having told the scheduler about my desire to patch it the craftsman did not bring the necessary materials. I did not get the impression that he has been informed about any job tasks ahead of time. He offered to "run out to Home Depot" to get a can of spray-on texture but overall was reluctant to deal with this messy task. The craftsman was personable and offered some practical advice on how I could DIY a couple of items not covered by the Deal. Kind of a mixed bag of an experience, but I think if I had been more organized and prescriptive it could have gone better. I would use this company again if the price is right.

It was excellent service. Very quick and professional and did a great job.

It went alright. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but he didn't get as much done as I would of wished for in the amount of time that it took. The deal was for 7 hours and I would of like to know if he could accomplish everything I wanted done in that time frame.

So far good everything is going good with the fixing of my drywall. However, they were not able to perform everything is 3 hours so I’m hoping I’m able to purchase a second deal to complete the services.

I was told that I could get an estimate first, but this company would not honor it.

I have to say I am very impressed with this company. The first person came out and did do a professional job on a ceiling that needed repair from a previous tenant's water damage. I also asked for a wall repair in the bathroom that involved an angle. He stated he didn't have the right tools and that was the end of his visit. I thought about it for awhile, then called Julie a couple of weeks later because it just did not seem right that he only worked one of three hours stating he didn't have a tool. She was very grateful for the call and assured me that they wanted the job done right (and that the fellow who did my job was no longer with them..and had never told them there was any problem on the job). Today, John came, promptly and got right down the work--and did not need any "special tool" either!!! He was a serious professional who got right at the job. Patient and thorough in a small powder room that had been the subject of a hack repair by the aforementioned previous tenants. So glad I called back instead of chalking it up to a bad experience--it was not at all and I am glad to learn of the high degree of customer care that On Call services has! And the job worked out great...taking the mirror off the wall entailed a drywall cut and repair as well! Unexpected but perfectly done! Thank you!

adjusted front door to better close but was unable to reseat to original state

Rather than removing the old grout and regrouting, like they said, grout seems to have been squeezed over existing grout from a caulking gun. So instead of having the nice smooth finish of grout that has been mixed and pushed in using a putty knife then smoothed with a sponge, they skip steps and give a crappy finish.

The service was great. They came in and did the work we asked them for. We got the $1500 deal and they did the 40 hour work without additional charges. There weren't any unexpected issues. They were great. They were very responsive, and they were right there when they said they would be.

The woman who handles the appointments sent her workers to the wrong address. When they called they said they were out front, but they were at the incorrect address. I had to have it rescheduled since they were so late. When I called to have it rescheduled, she gave me a hard time. Mike who came out to do the actual work though did a great job and was very thorough.

Their insurance would not allow them to work at heights over 8 feet. and if they were able to do the work I would have to rent additional equipment @ $150 per day and I would get a $99 credit towards any work performed from the coupon.

It turned out it was actually termite damage and not wood rot. He was able to tear down and expose the damage. They didn’t show up with the supplies and he brought his teenage girlfriend who was a chain smoker. I didn’t call him back to do the other repairs.

It worked out fine. They were punctual and there is no gobbledy goop up front. They were just nice people.

Everything went well. He finished after only being there for 45 minutes. I was unaware when I purchased the deal, that we would be limited on what he could do. We have a couple of ceiling fans that are wobbly and he said it would be half a day's job and he was not able to fix them. Also, he couldn't look at our water heater connection to make sure it was ok. (Our home inspection said it was "substandard".) So basically, we ended up walking around our house looking for minor things that we could do ourselves, but since he was there with all this time, we had him do it. He was friendly and professional, and I would recommend this for someone who is unable to perform simple tasks. However, for any minor to major repairs, you will need to look elsewhere.

Overall, I think the new door and the fit are excellent; $450 is a lot of money, but doors are not easy to install. So I paid all that money; now the glass beside the door is shattered. For that price, I think he could have painted the trim as well. I am at a loss -- what to do now and how to pay for the new disaster.

The man who arrived was very friendly and professional in terms of being a decent person. It was even fairly evident by his tricks of the trade and efficiency that he knew how to perform "drywall work". As punctual, friendly, responsive as he was however, in the end the main thing that matters is the quality of the work which was not that of a true professional. That is, he was to apply a smooth, non-textured application of "plaster" over two holes where I had placed new sheetrock where previously two holes had been. When complete, one of the holes was uneven with significant bumps and ridges especially around the electrical outlets. It was not smooth. I didnt inspect until after they left unfortunately and so I then just spent 45 minutes sanding the area and cleaning up. Even I could not get it perfect not being a professional myself. A true professional wouldve inspected his work , easily noticed the bumps and ridges and wouldve then fixed it.He should not have left such obviously imperfect work for the customer (me) to find after he left. Again, though, he was very, very friendly. A great person. If you dont care about obtaining truly professional quality and "OK work" is good enough for you, in that case I do recommend this company.

Professional, nice, and they worked hard to get everything done quickly. I would work with them again for future needs.

John worked quickly and carefully to complete all projects I needed done. He was also polite and professional.
