Awesome. Beaux and Julie are very easy to work with and super responsive. We received a quote from them and within a couple of weeks our bathroom was being remodeled. Beaux and his team were punctual and professional. The quality of work was great. Our bathroom is just what we wanted. I would recommend them to anyone. I will certainly use them again.

Not well, the scheduler rescheduled for several months. She continuously called and rescheduled due to other projects. I tried to resolve the scheduling problem by pushing out appointments as far as a month then 1.5 months. It was a joke! No one could be this disorganized and stay in business. All appointments were a month apart from another previously canceled and rescheduled appointment. The provider sent someone to replace 2 damaged astragals, replace the weatherstripping including door sweeps, adjust the doors as needed. One astragal was improperly installed. After seeing what he did i asked him to leave the other astragals alone. Only problem is that he had removed them from the other doors. He replaced them and screwed them in using dry wall screws with several protruding outside the doors. They sent another person out to fix the problem and he said that the parts used on the doors and the astragal were incorrect. he rescheduled to fix the issues, then rescheduled again and finally showed up to fix the doors. He repaired one door closure, removed the protruding screws and said that he would have the scheduler reschedule the appointment so he can work on the other doors. Months have gone by and I have not heard a word from them. I emailed them through Angie's list and have not received a response.
Description of Work: Repair doors with door sweeps, weatherstripping, adjust doors, repair/replace astrigals.

They showed up on time. They were supposed to provide the materials (stain and polyurethane), but they showed up without materials and told me they were my responsibility. So I rushed out to buy the materials, because I didn't want to reschedule. I contacted the company, and they sent me a check to reimburse me for the cost of materials. The actual refinishing job was pretty good.
Description of Work: They sanded, stained, and sealed my wood front door.

I had pre-purchased a doorbell from Home Depot. He came on time and understood what I needed done. He saw that the one i had bought was wrong size. Since it was a small job he offerred to go to home depot and exchange it for one of the right size. The work was completed within 2 hours and he cleaned up. He left me with old doorbell/chime in neat stack. I was completely satisfied.

So back in September OnCall had sent out a gentleman to re-caulk our master shower. He did a very subpar job. By November, the caulking was already peeling and separating. After several back and forth discussions, OnCall agreed to send out a second gentleman-David Gallus of Angelzcrew to inspect the work to decide if it indeed was negligence or normal wear & tear. He agreed with us that the original workmanship was poor. So in order to keep us happy and to stand by their reputation, OnCall decided to just let David completely redo the work right then and there. David was fantastic. He explained everything that he saw, he answered every question that I had and he even encouraged more questions. He was friendly, prompt and professional. We even chatted about some potential problems that he could see forming on down the road. When he felt the workmanship was good he complimented the builder rather than try to sell us on more repairs. He was very open and trustworthy. He even explained how he originally got into this line of work and talked about all of his experience and training and how he came to start working with OnCall. Despite the initial fiasco, we are very pleased with OnCall standing by their work, doing what it took to fix the situation and we are equally pleased with David Gallus and Angelzcrew. We will consider using OnCall again and will ask for David Gallus by name! Julie was the OnCall representative that we dealt with over the phone & via email. She was very kind, courteous, prompt and professional as well.

It was fine. They hung a mirror for me. Actually, later, I had to hire somebody to lower it. I didn't feel comfortable with them when they came back to hang the mirror. They also put together a couple of pieces of furniture. They did a good job of that. I was not happy with the mirror. I would be very reluctant to call them again. Their price was fine. When they came to hang the mirror, he needed somebody with him to help him. So, I paid for an extra person. He was so grumpy when he came, I didn't want to tell him he was not doing it right. The company maybe fine but I didn't like the individual that came.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal from them. It was $139 for three hours of handyman service.

I was relatively new to using Handyman services, but OnCall Home Services were did good work, were extremely polite, profession - asking me at least twice where I wanted a particular item to be place. I used a smaller project as I started using HM services and they grow with each time I need HM service. I feel like they are a good company for my straight forward handyman jobs

The handyman was very thorough and did the job exceedingly well. He mounted the TV correctly and accurately. He fixed an install that I had messed up. Then also did some minor repairs around the house. Highly recommend this company.

He did a good job although the cabinet was hung more than a foot higher than requested. When I called them to come back he said I thought that was the "minimum" height you wanted it. He had even marked the wall with the height expected. He changed outside door knobs. I had purchased the incorrect ones but instead of informing me he installed them anyway. Thankfully the cabinet was moved to the correct location when he returned a few days later. He also was able to locate an electrical problem but it was extensive and needed a licensed electrician.
Description of Work: Hung a cabinet on the wall. Checked electric problem. Changed outside door knobs.

This job was done by the hour. It was obvious he was taking his time. My 89 yr old mother walked faster that this guy. Not sure if this is reflective of others employed in this company but I am not inclined to ask them to return. The work was done correctly. No complaints there.

He had to take a couple of times to get the wall mount right and then he broke a light on the chandelier. They are portable and punctual. The work is pretty good but it could be improved.

He declined to use my spray gun, even though I provided him with a hose and compressor. He used a roller and took longer than he would have with the sprayer. In addition, there were several spots where the bare wood showed from the sides (between the strips of wood) when a sprayer would have easily covered this. He left the work area when I was indoors w/o advising he was leaving for the day.

Well it went okay. It took a very long time to get it done. I was not very impressed with the people who arranged it, because it was a drought and it was very hot. So the people who arranged it were kind of loosey goosey and took a long time to be done. I also wouldn't do it again they were not offering to do the inside of the door but the job they did was good. It wasn't done until the end of August early September. I wasn't there the day they didn't my husband was. It didn't feel like they were very efficient like they wanted to get it done. I guess they showed up on time, I wasn't here. I think they were okay.

Wasn't happy with the service, they put up two shower heads and one of the shower heads wasn't working after the services were performed. I asked that the provider mount a TV in my guest room and asked for it be in the middle of the wall, but it was mounted to the side of the wall. The company did come back to fix the shower head that wasn't working, the first thing the provider said was "that it wasn't on me". My father had to show him how to do something to get the shower head working properly. I can't comment on the whole company, but the person they sent out, I would not want to do work for me again.

It was not done. I received a refund from Angie's list. There was no option for non applicable in the overall listing.

We are also sorry that it upsets you that we charge a trip fee to go outside of our primary service area (Travis County). It clearly states that information on our Angie’s list page. We do offer coupons at a very reasonable price and provide excellent service. That extra fee is for travel for our handymen to help pay for their gas and drive time. That money does not come to us. The coupon also states that it is for labor only and other equipment and materials are provided by the customer. I’m sorry if there was any miscommunication about your project. The man showed up a little early, but that was fine. He got right to work. It was all drama free. Not a lot of talking. Jobs were completed before the two hours were up. All the work is first rate just like I had hoped. The only drawback was the woman who took the original appointment. She was pretty rude and sort of wanted to argue small stuff a bit when I started describing what I wanted done. It was a simple job. There was no need for that.

The technician said he would come back for the final touch up of the small opening that was patched, but he did not. Messages were unanswered. I rate this 'big deal" as C-.
Description of Work: The technician repaired two holes in the sheetrock left by the water cleanup crews. One hole was about 8x18 inches and the other was 28x20. The large one was repaired well, but the small one needed some more spackle to smooth over several ridges and dimples.

After his two hours are up he is supposed to charge $75.00 hour and for a 2 hour handyman service it is for a one time trip. He is not required to come back. It states that on the coupon you purchased. If he did tell you that he would come back it would be on his own time and not get paid for it. It sounds like that he did a good job and that you were satisfied with his work but he just didn’t have enough time to get finished. We do appreciate your business and thanks for your feedback!

John from home services was prompt, friendly, and completely professional. I had purchased 3 hours and (as indicated during the scheduling process) bought all the material I believed he would need based on my own drywall project. I honestly had no idea if 3 hours was enough time or too much time for a professional to complete a good sized bathroom vanity area. Bad news is that a good portion of the time was spent doing things I *should* have done before John arrived -- things like draping the counters and removing the light fixtures. Probably spent an hour just on that prep, so my advice to others would be to do as much of that yourself before your appointment. But once John got to work on the float, tape, texture part he moved pretty quickly. I'll tell you -- owning a hopper makes that texture application go 20x faster. Another lesson: they sell those texture in a can things for any size project, but anything bigger than, say, a door-sized wall and you are probably better off finding a hopper. John was dedicated to finishing the room in the time allotted (which I appreciated), but it did make him rush a bit through the remaining 2 hours. He was polite when he was working and was mindful not to bring the mess of drywall dust and plaster out of the bathroom and into the hall. Solid quality -- there were some imperfections in the texture (thumbprint, grooves), which from my personal experience seems to be expected (especially when rushed). Nothing I couldn't even out with a little sandpaper before I painted. All-in-all it was a great job for the time and price. Saved myself probably another 2 weekends worth of work by paying for a professional to get it all done in 3 hours. Well worth it.
Description of Work: We're remodeling a guest bath, which included removing 20 year old vinyl wallpaper. Behind that wallpaper was plain drywall -- perfect condition but "raw". To match the rest of the house (painted walls) we needed to have knockdown texture applied, as well as some fixes to the float and taping damaged over time and during the wallpaper removal. I don't own a hopper, no experience with drywall / texture -- but I did do the water closet myself using those spray texture aerosols you can get at HD. I did a great job (if I do say so myself), but I burned through a full weekend on the project. So for the larger space (vanity area) I bought time through Angie's list to have a professional come in and do that tape, float, texture part.
