Ody Lawn & Tree Service

Ody solicited work directly, having purportedly done work for several neighbors. (Note: one of those neighbors credited a different provider with their service. This may have simply been due to a mis-communication.) I needed some tree work done, and the price quoted was very reasonable, so after talking with them to make sure they knew their stuff, I had them do some work including removal of a few small dead trees, trimming a few oaks, cutting out a stump, and trimming some pecan branches which hung over a power line. I have no complaints. They trimmed the trees properly, taking branches back to leaders and leaving no unattractive "pollarding" on anything. They painted all the wounds on the trees, albeit very thinly, to help mitigate against disease potential. There was some wood which they neglected to cart off, but for the price, I have absolutely no complaints. I did not check on their insurance/bonding, and will confess that having tree-work done on one's property is a nerve-wracking experience! My lower rating under professionalism is perhaps unwarranted, but in hindsight, I would have liked to have seen papers for a little more peace of mind. I do not know the status of their insurance. I also don't believe that the wood was re-purposed, (oak and pecan, mostly) and it may have ended up in a landfill, which I would have preferred to avoid. The price I paid was in fact a little more than their quote. That was simply because I felt the guys deserved a bit more than what they quoted. A good crew who worked hard for a very reasonable price. I'm sure most service providers would have charged multiple times what Ody's crew quoted me.

I called several companies trying to get the tree down without killing the bees (which are already having enough problems without being exterminated). We need bees to pollinate the plants we eat, so I wanted to do my part. Ody Lawn & Tree Service showed no fear and much good humor about this project. A beekeeper can now come and remove the bees safely, and the dead tree is no longer a hazard in my yard.
