John did some landscaping for a neighbor. We really liked it. So we arranged to meet with him. He showed up on time. We, however, wrote down the wrong time and were late. We talked, shared our ideas, preferences and budget. A very nice and knowledgeable person. We never heard back from him. We decided we could increase our budget so I wrote him with that information and additional thoughts and questions. We never heard back from him. It has been more between 5 and 6 weeks and no word, even with intervening emails. If he wasn't interested, too busy, or otherwise unable to do the work, it would have been nice to know. If he wanted to do the work, but had other jobs first, it would have been nice to know. Now the season is well advanced and it is likely too late to get our yard re-designed this year. In our world "reliability" is important. Not responding is not a hallmark of being reliable.

Lack of returning phone calls even if he were not interested in doing the work is a bad business practice.
Description of Work: Mr. Barr made two trips to my home to discuss landscaping ideas and even drew up the plans, which he charged me for. But when I called him to tell him that I wanted him to do the job, he didn't even have the courtesy to return my calls. A very big disappointment as I thought he understood what I had envisioned.

I had a contract with the member to design her landscape. I completed this contract by presenting my design as agreed, she liked my work, and paid me in full. As she states in her review, she liked my design and was happy with the completion of our contracted work. Her disappointment is in my choosing not to enter into a second contract. I probably might have handled it better, but based on all our previous interactions, I decided that it would be best to cut off further communication. Again, we had a contract; that contract was completed in a manner that she approved of; and I was paid in full for my services. I chose not to enter into a second contract, which disappointed her, hence my low rating. Thank you, John

Native Cottage Gardens was an excellent company to use. I was very pleased with the design they did. They were also very prompt in their attendance. Our lawn looks beautiful and we have had a lot of compliments from our neighbors. The work was done in two projects but they did an excellent job both times they were here.
Description of Work: They designed a custom landscape for our 80x70 square foot area. They installed a path sitting area, herb garden, flowerbed, lighting fixtures, tree line, hedges and also fertilized our lawn.
