Response on first call and estimate was very timely. When he saw how bad the situation in the junction box was he altered his schedule for us and immediately came to work on the problem. He is professional and his work looks like art work. I recommend him to the neighbors and I would feel confident about his work. He does not cut corners and is true to his word. That is unusual from the contractors I have had in the past.

Paul was very professional and during the quote process he offered some good suggestions. He and his assistant arrived on time the day the work was to be done. They worked efficiently and completed the job in one day, then cleaned up at the end. I really don't have much to say because things went so well - if only all contractors' experiences could be like this.

Dan was only one of 3 places called that called me back on a Saturday. Said he could come by in 15 minutes and give me estimate. Did so took notes and came back on Wed. and did the work.
Description of Work: Installed main service panel . Pulled permits from city to replace old Federal panel. We needed a a 240 for new variable speed pool pump and only had 110. He was there when he said he would be, does quality work, and he was the only company to respond back to me on a Saturday. Dan is a professional and really nice guy.

Dan is a really nice and professional person to work with (as is his Asst. Mike). Dan is a busy guy so you can't be in a hurry (which says something positive), but I think the quality is worth the wait. They arrived within 30 minutes of when they indicated they would and began immediately after a confirming consultation of the work I wanted done. I was also consulted a few times as the work progressed for input, which was helpful and led to good collaboration and better results. Fortunately, my house provided a friendly structure in which to perform this work. This, combined with Dan's approach to being as minimally invasive and destructive as possible, made for minimal clean-up and minimal required follow-up work by a drywaller. For example, instead of cutting open some holes in order to pass wires through the 2x4s behind the walls in the living room, he took advantage of the back side of the same wall being in the garage and opened up a hole on the garage side instead. This meant no open holes in the sheet rock in my living room, leaving it clean and "finished" upon completion of the work. Another area that required removal of sheet rock in order to perform the work was cleanly cut and replaced, thus minimizing the repair work to the sheet rock by a dry waller. It took about 6 hours to perform all this work and they also provided some advice on a couple other minor issues (electrical and alarm) I was having, which was more of a courtesy, enabling me to resolve myself and save money. I would highly recommend Dan and expect to call him at some point to also upgrade the incandescent lights in my kitchen with recessed LEDs.
Description of Work: I had four new recessed LED lights and two new recessed eyeball lights added in my living room as well as two switches to operate them, and an outlet added in my bathroom. I also had three recessed incandescent lights replaced with recessed LED lights.

During the initial bid, Dan offered some great suggestions on adding recessed lighting in the living room with the option of using LED fixtures that would not produce heat and be very energy efficient. We discussed what I was wanting to accomplish and some of the different options of achieving it. There was no pressure, no sales pitch, just honesty and information. Dan really stood out among all the others bidding this job. Dan and Mike were punctual and professional. The job went very smoothly over three days. The furniture was covered to protect from the dust of cutting holes in the ceiling. They also cut the holes the same sizes and left the sheetrock inside each hole for the drywall repair person to use. This saved having to buy and cut new sheetrock. Those that bid for the drywall repair were pleased and impressed this was done. I will definitely use Dan again and recommend Molitor Electric to friends and others in our condominium community. Thanks!!
Description of Work: 1. Ran new wiring to add ceiling fans and recessed LED lighting in a stack condominium with closed trusses (cut out ceiling pieces and drilled holes in trusses for wires to run through). 2. Installed ceiling fans in 3 rooms. 3. Installed 4 recessed lights in the living room with dimmer switch. 4. replaced light fixture in kitchen/dining area with recessed LED light. 5. Ran cables for television and internet from living to add to 2 bedrooms. 6. 1973 Condo has aluminum wiring. Changed all switches to white rockers, added GFI's in kitchen and bathrooms, changed out all outlets to tamper-resistant white outlets using appropriate Al/Cu purple wire connectors. 7. Added dedicated plugs for garbage disposal and dishwasher 8. Added covered outdoor outlet on the balcony. 9. Troubleshooting on some wiring issues 10. Knowledgeable, Professional, Courteous

The electrician was great. When I called him he was way on the other side of town, but he said he would be happy to come out for an Angie's List member. He gave us an estimate and he rearranged his schedule to come back on the following Monday to complete the work. Clean up went very well. He was very professional and I will use again in the future. He arrived on time as promised.

Most of work was done in two days. Dan arranged to do the labeling of the fuse box in the following week. He was prompt, respectful, and cleaned up after the work. He kept me informed all along the way. I would highly recommend him for anyone seeking electrical work.
Description of Work: I had to have my septic electric line moved. The old line went under the drain field. Dan and his crew had to run a line through the attic, dig two ditches, put steel piping in the ground; reinforced the post the septic switch was attached to, connected the switch box to the electric line. He also put in a couple of florescent lights in the shed, a light switch, and a double plug in the shed Dan let me know that my fuse box needed to be update prior to selling the house. He replaced the fuse box too. He worked with Pedernales Electric Coop to get a new meter.

Dan was very punctual and professional. He worked me into his schedule and even come out on weekends to finish the job. Dan was the only contractor we have met to date that told us the job we wanted him to do was overkill and we could get the same results for half the price. We ended going with his recommendation and couldn't be happier. He was very detail oriented and took great pride in his work. We will be calling him back to do more electrical work in the future.

He was clean, courteous and stayed in touch about his arrival time. He absolutely would be the person I called again. Price was great and I really appreciate the extra time he took to explain what I was doing wrong.
Description of Work: Light switch for fan with dimmer stopped working. Bought a new switch and tried to fix it on my own but could never get the light to work with the dimmer - the fan would work or the light would work but not both. Finally broke down and called a pro to fix it. He fixed in about 15 minutes and then took another 10 minutes explained what I was doing wrong.

Overall was a solid experience and I would gladly use them again.
Description of Work: Redid my backyard and needed electrical run from the house to certain points on the new deck for outlets and lighting. Dan helped come up with a design and a plan. Let me know what could be done and what couldn't (easily). He was very forthcoming with areas that were not his expertise. Once agreeing on a plan, we made an appointment to come out and do the work. He and his team were quick and efficient. When a problem came up, he made me aware, and we quickly altered the plan in a reasonable way. Price was in line with professional work and worth every penny.

We were very impressed with Dan Molitor. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional as well as reasonable. We will call him again in the future for any electrical needs that we have.
Description of Work: The lights in the kitchen and breakfast area suddenly stopped working. We called Molitor Electric on a Saturday afternoon and within 1-1/2 hours Dan Molitor arrived at our house and began tracking down the problem. There was a short in the laundry room receptacle. Mr. Molitor fixed the problem very quickly and then resolved another issue with a switch in the hallway that had never worked since we moved into the house.

Months ago, I accidentally tripped a GFCI-controlled circuit using a GFCI tester. I figured it must be a GFCI outlet somewhere, but spent a lot of time looking already. I couldn't find one and thought I had a more serious problem. I put off calling an electrician for a few weeks. I finally called one who never called me back. Then I called Dan. He called me back within 15 minutes. When I described in detail what happened, Dan assured me it was more than likely a GFCI outlet that I hadn't found, and where to look. I did what he said and was able to find the GFCI outlet. Thanks Dan!!
Description of Work: I called Dan and left a message describing my problem. He called me back in 15 minutes. I told him what happened. He gave me some tips on how to fix it myself. His advice helped me fix the problem myself.

We are in the process of remodeling a 17 year old house including changing out most of the fans and light fixtures. I found out very short notice that I would be hosting Thanksgiving for my family. Several of the new fixtures had arrived including a massive dining room chandelier. I wasn't sure I could get anyone to install the fixtures before Thanksgiving on such short notice. I called Dan and he was able to schedule for the afternoon before Thanksgiving. He worked steadily all afternoon until 6:30PM to make sure that all the fixtures were up and working in time for the Thanksgiving event. I was so pleased with the work, price and Dan that he will definitely be doing more electrical work for me as we remodel this house. He also made excellent suggestions to include more energy efficient fixtures for other areas of the house. I highly recommend Molitor Electric.

Dan Molitor did a terrific job on my mid-1960's house that needed a lot of electrical upgrades. Dan was very professional throughout. He explained everything to me (I ask a lot of questions) and gave me a lot of straightforward advice. Dan was prompt in starting the job and finished in a very timely manner. The work involved a lot of climbing around in the attic and installing new plugs in some unexpectedly tight spaces. Dan got everything done on time and on budget. Just after the initial work, I asked Dan to come back to install some new kitchen lights. Upon arrival, Dan called me and suggested we discuss some changes to what I originally wanted. His suggestions made much more sense than what I originally envisioned. Dan wasn't trying to sell me anything; it was an honest discussion about modern kitchen lighting and the other options I had. I agreed to it right away and I'm very glad I did. I'm very pleased with the work done by Dan Molitor and would certainly use him again.
Description of Work: Replaced the indoor and outdoor Federal Pacific electrical panels installed in the mid-1960's. These panels have been deemed dangerous and replacement is recommended. Also installed an outdoor storm riser and wiring, brought some things up to code, and installed several new outlets (regular and gfi). Then came back and installed cannister and pendant lights in the kitchen.

A+++++ DAN MOLITOR DID A FANTASTIC JOB WORKING ON MY HOUSE! HE IS AN EXTREMELY CAREFUL MASTER ELECTRICIAN WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS WORK. HE QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $600 FOR ONE DAY SINCE I HAD MANY THINGS I WANTED DONE. HE WORKED FOR ALMOST 12 HOURS AND STILL ONLY CHARGED ME $600. MANY WORKERS WOULD WORK ONLY 8 HOURS (AT THE MAX) AND THEN CHARGE AGAIN FOR THE NEXT 1/2 DAY. HE EVEN MADE A SECOND TRIP LATER THAT WEEK TO FIX AN OLD LIGHT SWITCH HE WASN'T HAPPY WITH...FREE OF CHARGE!

It went brilliantly. Dan made sure I knew what was going to happen, and kept in good contact while waiting for Austin Energy approvals. Amazingly to me, all the work was performed the same day, and we were without power for only 4 hours. Dan had an initial plan and materials for the installation of the breaker box and routing of wires under the house, but changed plans on the morning of the install to take advantage of the wall I had open on the inside (I did not think to tell him ahead of time that we were renovating the room behind the wall where the breaker box was to go). He drilled through the outside wall and ran all of the wires inside the wall, up to the attic and down to the crawlspace. The result was a beautiful installation on our exterior wall. His assistant that day, Mike, had the unpleasant task of performing connections under the house and in the attic. Each junction box to house wiring is conveniently mounted and the routing of the wires in the attic and under the house is very neat. Even though he was very busy with the task at hand, he offered to pull some coax and Cat6 into the attic for me, which was extremely useful. The hardware Dan used looks top-notch, and even though it was getting late, took care to correctly label the breakers with a label maker. Molitor Electric clearly takes pride in doing good, clean work and making the customer happy. In fact, they exceeded all expectations.

Overall the jobs were performed on time and at a very fair price. I would highly recommend Dan to other customers. When I chose him from Angie's list...he was one of only a few contractors who had a 100% satisfaction rating. I gladly continue reporting that I am 100% satisfied as well.
Description of Work: Dan is by far the best electrical contractor I have ever had. He is courteous, prompt, extremely fair in pricing and just overall a very nice gentleman. He has performed two separate jobs, one for my son's remodeling project at his condo, and most recently at our residence. I trust the job is done right when Dan completes the work. If all contractors took the care and interest in pleasing the customer that he does...the world would be a much better place.

He did a really good job in several areas. He was extremely punctual. He answered the call himself. He made an appointment right away. He stuck to the appointment. There were no delays at all. He was very prompt in that sense. When he arrived he was very competent and was able to identify exactly what he needed to do. The lighting that he installed required a lot of work getting them to fit properly. The brackets were not made in the United States, so he had to work around some unfamiliar challenges. He did everything perfect. He did a really good job. I thought his pricing was extremely fair. He charged me a very fair amount. He is the owner and operator of the company. He is a top notch guy. I would call him again if I needed to. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
