MMLA provided exactly what I needed; good landscape design and talented crew. The professionalism and follow through of the owner and his crew were great. Several site visits were made before the work began which was very comforting to know that great thought went into this project. MMLA owner has an eye for great Hill Country design. The work was done with great care and was completed in a reasonable time frame and area was left cleaner and neater than when they began. I plan to do more work on my landscape and will not hesitate to have MMLA perform the work.
Description of Work: Dig up and replace existing limestone walkway and small courtyard. Prepare large plant beds with soil enrichment and mulch. Design and implement new courtyard and flagstone walkway with pea gravel.

First of all, this is a rave, and for those readers who don't understand the Angie's List process, by doing this, I'll get a phone call from the folks at Angie's list checking up on whether my report is bogus or true. It's true. My sister-in-law got a business card from Mike and decided to interview him. Since he wasn't on Angie's list, I was skeptical. However, after she had a few meetings with him, she raved about his designs and how attentive he was to details and time-lines, so I agreed to meet with him about a project we wanted to do at our house (see above). He was indeed cordial and really listened carefully and understood what we wanted done. Still skeptical, I asked for everyone he had worked with for the past year, then called all of them. The references were uniformly perfect. No one had anything bad to say. I even asked, "Isn't there something negative? Anything?" No one had a single bad word to say. My wife was sold; I was still skeptical. But Mike is just so sincere and earnest that I decided to go ahead and give him a try. Still, I decided to watch him, somehow knowing that without an Angie's List recommendation, he would end up being a problem. His crew showed up and were all courteous, careful and smart. If one didn't know how to do something, rather than forge ahead and make a mistake, they got the foreman over and he personally handled the hard parts. They worked from 6:45am until 4pm, sometimes until 8pm, every day (except Sunday) for about ten days. During the entire time, they left a clean work area at the end of every day. If something wasn't going to be done when we expected (exactly twice during the whole project), they would politely let us know in advance and explain their plan to get it done. They left the area we set aside for their meals spotless. Mike's crew used top rated materials, including really large chunks of limestone to create a perfectly flat patio and walkway. The fire pit is a work of art that looks - as we asked - like an old Hill Country ranch cistern. The posts look as though the architect had originally designed them the way Mike's crew finished them. The cleared area is clean, the live oak they planted is in perfect condition and they understood about filling it with good materials. In all, I couldn't be any happier with Mike's work. He was there several times each day to make sure I was happy and his crew had a clear idea of the day's objective. Juan, his crew chief, is an absolute genius, so creative in solving problems, and he somehow keeps his crew on their toes doing grueling, back-breaking work, and with nothing but smiles and kindness to us. At this point, I completely believe Mike's references. His work is nigh-on perfect, and I'll be joining the list of enthusiastic references. My only let down is that when the rest of our Angie's List people find out about MMLA, it will be harder to book them for a job. Still, this one is too good to keep under wraps. I hope that all of us in our community share our best finds. This unqualified recommendation is for the best find I've had in many a year.
Description of Work: Mike did a professional design that we would have paid hundreds of dollars for from any other landscape designer. He then brought in a crew that ranged from 4-8 men on a daily basis and personally supervised them several times per day while they created a gorgeous limestone patio and a walkway under our long arbor. They also did cosmetic work on our 14 long-leaf yellow pine supporting posts (IE, we're talking structural work), cutting off the bottoms and placing them on limestone pedestals to help make sure the bottoms didn't get any rain damage. They installed a fifty gallon live oak tree. We had a broken, in-wall wine cooler. They removed it, patched the wall both inside and out. They also cleared trees and built a 40 foot long circular wall to operate as a fire pit and a place for company to sit and enjoy a fire in colder weather.
