Metro Maids

Metro maids came out to strip and wax our break room floor. After they were done the floors look super shiny in some spots and dull in others along with large swirl marks. They had to come out a second and third time. The second time the girl totally forgot about the job and it had to be rescheduled for the following day. The third time they were late and had to reschedule for the following day again. That time they were doing the work until 3am Sunday morning. Our employees arrive at 7am. This is not enough time to let wax dry. No one even called to let me know this. There was also wax on everything. On the bottoms of all the cabinets, fridge, dish washer, and all the baseboards. The floors were still wet and could not be walked on. And the entire building smelled so bad because they did the job and just locked up. Didn't air the building out at all. The owner was completely willing to keep coming back as many times needed to fix it which is a good sign but after 3 times it was enough. The floors just looked terrible. We I asked for our money back, but were were only given 2/3rds of it.

My friend who has a learning disability has used Metro Maids for three years in Austin. They have provided outstanding service for a reasonable price ($50 a week for a messy one-bedroom). The manager, Charlene, and the individual cleaners have really cared about filling my friend's needs, always going above and beyond the agreed-upon basics. They would fold or hang up the clothes he had washed, and adjusted to his wish for privacy and his careless habits. My dear friend is a slob, and Charlene is a saint. Last week, on moving day, Charlene came to the apartment to give us a price on the final cleaning. She picked up a box and helped us pack. She is smart and kind and full of energy. I thought since she was the manager and only a phone voice to me all these years, that she would not do the hands-on work, but she whipped my friend's move into shape with a smile. I hope Metro Maids opens an office in San Antonio, where my friend lives now.
