Went to McNair's to buy a dishwasher. I walked in, looked around, and when I was walking out someone asked if they could help me. I said I was looking for a dishwasher. He pointed me to the back of the store and got someone else to "help" me. Salesman comes over and said their dishwashers start at $400. Told me how I have a $200 dishwasher at home (how does he know where I live or what I have?). Said how the $200 ones are loud and don't wash as well. So I asked for prices on two of the dishwashers they had on the floor (nothing has prices posted). He said he'd go look up how much they cost, and he never came back. I was the only customer in the store. I waited a long time, then was walking out and passed by his desk. I asked him how long he was going to keep me waiting back there, and he just smiled at me and told me to have a nice day. Ended up going to Sears and buying 2 $400 dishwashers (one for me and one for rental).
Description of Work: Gave me the worst service I've had anywhere in years.

They were helpful in providing information and an estimate on the items we were interested in. We ordered everything through them and had to submit payment for all items, before they could be ordered. We had to call to check to see when the items arrived. Once we got confirmation that the items were in their warehouse, we scheduled a date to have them delivered, and scheduled our plumber and electrician to also be on site. The items did not arrive on the scheduled date or the following day. Also, our sales person would not return our calls, once we had provided the final payment. Once we did reach our sales person, he said my husband should just call the warehouse, it was too much for him to manage. We re-set to delivery time. Once the trucks arrived, they called to say we'd have to pay them another $25 to move one single 1x1 board sitting in the driveway and to carry the items inside. We were not impressed with this company's overall customer service and would not recommend them!

My builder allowed me to buy directly from McNair's without additional markup after a brief and somewhat heated discussion. I purchased a Viking wood paneled 48'' refrigerator, 36'' range with hood, wok ring and griddle, Maytag s/s dishwasher, Neptune washer and dryer all installed on the same day. Other than initially bringing out the wrong refrigerator, everything was handled well and at a discount from list price.
Description of Work: Viking kitchen and Maytag Neptune washer/dryer.
