Not good and I'm a reasonable person with reasonable expectations. Unit stopped working while I was out of town and asked friends if they recommended anyone. Terry was referred to me by a friend (which I've learned is probably the worst way to get a recommendation). Nutshell: his helper William said there was leak in condenser coil and would be 1700 to replace. I decided that a new unit would be best since new units don't use the expensive coolant gas that is being phased out. Will quoted me 4,000 for a 4 ton unit and I said okay. Come install day, owner Terry asks me what the square footage of my house was and I told him. He then realized his helper had incorrectly estimated the unit size for my house and that I needed a 5 ton unit. Terry leaves and returns with the correct unit. Will says to me while Terry is gone to pick up the correct unit " sorry, the markings on the unit weren't very legible and it will only be 200$ more". Terry comes back and says " yeah, the price difference is only $500". At this point I just needed the unit installed because we have a newborn. After all is said and done he tells me he needs to charge me $160 or so dollars because I'm paying with a credit card. I paid with the credit card because I know with a credit card you have buyer protections built in should something happen. Unit worked well but I went to go check the install in the attic and noticed that the evaporator coil was 2" lower on one end, angled away from the drainage hole. The plenum (big box where all your vents are attached) was off and crushing a vent below it. It wasn't properly supported with foam blocks to which Will later said " oh, I must've knocked out one of the supports inadvertently " . The mastic and taping was also very poorly done with multiple air leaks. I had to call them twice afterwards to get it done properly. I regret not shopping around but I was out of town and had a newborn at home. My recommendation would be to call 3 different large reputable companies and get estimates.
