After applying the 3M Color Quartz we followed all the instructions from Marshall Plaster and our Pool builder. The standard brushing of the plaster for 2 weeks and resisting the urge to use the pool and hot tub. Four weeks after the plaster was applied we realized the the color did not look like the brochure and pictures on the internet had shown. There were white "splotches" all over the pool and even a footprint in the hotub. At this point we notified both our pool builder and Marshall Plaster. The owner of Marshall plaster tried to lay blame on our water in our pool and finally after my pool builder insisted and paid him $600 he sent a team out to our pool to dump acid in the pool to "fix" the splotching. After the acid treatment the folks from Marshall Plaster came back and dumped "neutralizer" in our pool so the water would be safe to swim in. The pool did look better after this treatment and the splotches did seem to disappear, though the foot print in my hotbub was still barely visible. The team at Marshall Plaster neglected to tell us that this treatment would ruin our pool filter cartridges, which it did. This cost us $500 to replace.Another 2 months later the splotches returned. Repeated calls to Marshall Plaster were unreturned. Another 6 months later after much persistence the owner of Marshall Plaster came out to see my pool which has progressively gotten worse. The owner took a sample of my water and stated that the pool water was to blame for the horrible splotching. A few days later I had the manufacturers representative for 3M Color Quartz which was acquired by CLI industries come out to view our pool. Upon first view of my pool he made the comment that my pool looked like it was "ten years old". After more persistence with both my pool builder and Marshall Plaster the owner of Marshall Plaster agreed to re-do my plaster for an additional $1,500. I have refused this offer as I don't understand why I should pay anything for a job that was never done correctly from the beginning. The owner of Marshall Plaster knows I can not directly sue him since my pool contract is with my builder not him. We have new quotes to re-do the pool and it will most likely cost us $6-10k to complete. In summary, Marshall Plaster does not stand behind their work. They constantly blame others for what is their responsibility. At this point I am hopeful that I can help others avoid this Horrible company in hopes they will not shaft others.
Description of Work: My pool builder contracted Marshall Plaster of Kyle Texas to apply the coat of custom plaster and 3M Color Quartz in my new pool. My family selected the Carribean Blue color of the 3M color quartz product. We selected the 3M Color Quartz product for its color, strength and warranty. The 3M Color Quartz was a $2,300 upgrade over the cost of standard plaster.
