Description of Work: love the siding i have a new home. one draw back for me was the 500.00 that was advertised on Angies list was not given to me . when i asked i was told that i was given a 3%discount but was not shown the total prior so some questions on that . i also had 2 windows replaced in the showers and tiles were broken and it was not told to us that M&M was not responsible for fixing nor was it in the contract so we have to fix 2 showers @ our cost. something i was not expecting. Moving forward i would make sure that i have every thing in writing as to why they are advertising and not following thru. always ask questions when replacing windows.

Description of Work: Contract negotiation was painless, and the price estimated was the price paid with the exception of a very small surcharge for more expensive choice of stone than negotiated. M&M removed and replaced all of our my home's siding, masonry, windows (8 total), exterior sheathing, front entry door, and fascia trim. They installed my choice of insulation on every exterior wall. They also replaced a window with a new exterior door and closed in my exposed soffit. They were willing to install windows purchased from another source when other weren't, and worked around me tackling some smaller projects that worked well in tandem with the exposed walls. The onsite workmen were friendly, courteous, and thorough. Management was the same and quickly responded to every phone call and email. They happily took care of a few small issues that we neglected to discuss during contract negotiations, and very quickly took care of the few very minor issues I raised at the conclusion of the job. I'm happy to rate M&M "A" and recommend them gladly.

Description of Work: I left a message and waited less than 1 day for a callback--which was a pretty quick response time. I was able to schedule an appointment with an estimator over the phone for the following week. I requested that he call on the day of the appointment to confirm since I have to drive clear across town to go to the property. On the day of the appointment, I proceeded out to the property yet the estimator never showed, nor did he call. When I called him, he stated he had it written down correctly but, for whatever reason, kept thinking it was for Tuesday (the appointment was scheduled for a Monday). He was very apologetic and attempted to reschedule for later on the same day. I informed him this simply would not do since I have limited time for these sorts of things (hence why people normally schedule appointments). I asked him to check his schedule and get back with me (call me back) to propose another appointment time since I was not in front of my calendar and wanted to "cool down" after realizing I've just wasted half of my day for an estimate that never occurred. Heard plenty of apologies when he didn't show up but no follow through to perform the requested estimate. I never heard back from him. Not impressed with punctuality or the company's attempt to service at all.

Description of Work: House was built in 1984 with 70% stone and remainder wood siding. Remove wood siding and trim on front of home and replace with James Hardie siding. Moisture barrier was installed where the siding was replaced. The garage jamb sides were replaced on the two doors. All seams were caulked and flashing was installed on all windows top and bottom. Wood to be painted was power washed, sanded, primed and caulked prior to painting (using Sherwin Williams Super Paint). The wood painted included all fascia and soffit on the 5 sides on front of house and the two gables located on the sides of the house. Old gutter was removed and replaced with 6" seamless aluminum with baked on enamel finish; approximately 44 ft in length. Gutter was installed on fascia on front right at entry. Back of house was not done at this time.

Description of Work: I had a roof leak in my garage. The leak was attributed to dormer windows above the garage. Gary replaced windows and flashing, but the flashing had to be redone three times before it worked. During the period of time I waited for Gary to come back and fix the problem, the roof leak persisted and the ceiling in my garage is now rotted through.

Description of Work: I have a 2-story house built in 1983. Living in San Antonio, TX, much of the homes that were built during that period have sheet siding which I believe is masonite. Last year, I started to have holes develop in the siding, including one extremely noticeable (and embarrassing) one right above my front door starting a couple of feet below the roof that developed into a verticle gash that looked like my house had been opened up with a can opener. The other hole was near the top of my chimney, which was about 9" across by the time I noticed it. In addition to the holes, I had some rot in the siding taking place near the foundation in a couple of areas, some soffit damage, and some trimwork which was rotting. In general, between the damage and the fact that it was time to caulk and paint, it got to where I didn't even want to look at the outside of my house, and I definitely did not want my friends coming over. It turns out, the holes were caused by water running down behind the masonite when it rained. This was caused by my flashing being incorrectly installed by whoever the prior homeowner contracted with to replace the roofing. (Live and learn) Before any one wonders; yes, I had a home inspection and it was not noted on the report and it was never mentioned. Since we are in an extreme drought, the holes didn't widen any more, but I had to get this taken care of. I started setting aside money before I even called my first compnay to come in with an estimate. After calling a few companies and getting nowhere (one company wanted to sell me hardiplank which would have cost approximately $15k and the other company didn't want to fix what was damaged behind the siding), I signed up for Angie's list and found M&M Roofing, Siding & Windows. I called and talked with an amazing professional named Linn LeGrant. After explaining my situation, I set up an appointment for him to come out the next day. This was in June 2011. He came out, looked at everything, pointed out what I hadn't noticed (the rot near the foundation and some of the trim) and spent over an hour talking over options. Since my house is valued at approximately $105k, I did not want hardiplank at $15k, that would have been ridiculous. I wanted my problem fixed at a reasonable price, and the option I chose was a reasonable and affordable one for me. Linn wrote up an estimate to remove and replace the rotten siding and exposed framing, remove and replace damaged facia and trim and remove and dispose of all guttering. He was also going to correct the flashing issue so that it wouldn't happen again. In addition to the damaged areas, the estimate also included prepping and powerwashing entire house including overhangs, paint entire house with 2 coats of 100% premium acrylic exterior paint-Sherwin Williams Superpaint in Satin, two colors, siding and trim. Since I did not want to finance this, and I did not want to dip into my savings, I needed a couple of months more to complete the amount needed for the work to be done. When I called in August, Linn came back out, walked the exterior and explained what his crew was going to do and what day. We set up a time, (which was over the hottest weekend on record for August, with temperatures soaring up to 110 degrees.) I asked about a deck that I wanted to remove, and asked if they could remove the header and replace the siding behind it. I would take down the deck, but I didn't want to replace it in that location. He was fine with that, the only thing he had to charge was for was cutting the deck back, removing the header, and the additional siding that needed to be replaced behind the header, all of which increased my estimate by only $200.00.

Description of Work: I had them replace my roof. I was very happy with the service. They were on time, did a great job. After the job was done, I talked to some neighbors and discussed what I had paid, I found out I could have done it at a much lower price.
