They missed the first appointment, due to a phone# and address mix up, but the second time, called in advance to confirm and showed up right on time. Very professional and recommended where work was not really needed and where there might be concerns in the future. Check out every GFCI outlet inside and outside the house for functionality and to determine what was on each circuit of the breaker panel. Demonstrated quality of one GFCI being replaced with the one they were installing. Actually completed work a bit early and offered to replace any bulbs that might need replacing to use up the rest of my purchased time. Felt very comfortable with the repair person and their abilities and would definitely hire again for any work required.

The entire experience was a positive one. I called Malco before purchasing the Angie's List coupon and to my surprise, someone actually answered the phone. That alone gives them a good rating as most service providers in Austin don't answer phone calls and many won't even call back. Anyway, the woman in the office was helpful and we scheduled the appointment. The electrician showed up on time and was very friendly. He completed the job as requested in a reasonable amount of time and cleaned up after himself. I had purchased one of the Angie's List coupons for this job but it turned out that a different one was a better value so they allowed me to change my coupon to help save some money.

There were some problems after the first day of work, and I called the company and spoke with them about this. They offered to send out another of their electricians to check over the work that had been done. Every single person I worked with was very courteous and pleasant throughout the process. When the second electrician was unable to diagnose the problem with my cook top, I had another conversation with the company. The owner of the company and two of his long-time electricians then scheduled with me to come out. I was very impressed with how much both the owner of the company and the supervisor were determined to get everything working well. In addition, the owner purchased some under cabinet lighting which was better to work with than the fixtures I had purchased at the big box store. He also had purchased a number of other items like outlet boxes, so that he would have what was needed on hand. After the three electricians worked all day, everything had been installed and/or corrected to my satisfaction. We all agreed that better communication at the time of first scheduling could have helped the project go smoother. Again, the people in this company are experienced and friendly, and were willing to stick it out to make sure I was happy with the outcome.

Chris was professional, efficient, and informative. He also fixed some shoddy work done by the original builder and recommended the whole house surge protector deal on Angie's list which we are taking advantage of after our lightning experience. Malco has done other work for us over the years and they are really excellent.

We took advantage of an offer offered by Malco on Angie's list, and the pricing was reasonable. The electrician that came out was not only very quick, but he did a thorough job and was also very personable too. My wife and I thought he was fantastic and we would definitely recommend Malco to anyone in the neighborhood.

Originally I had someone from Malco come out who attempted to fix my fan among other things. He did not have the new remote (my fault since I didn't know it required a new remote) and when he took out the old remote, some of my lights did not work anymore. I had previously reviewed them because during my previous encounter, I had someone come out to install an attic fan (he did not have the correct materials to do that and worked on getting the old one off for over an hour before an AC guy came out and had the appropriate tool to help him). This ate into my time with the Angie's List deal for 2 hrs for $144. Even the electrician said his service should not have taken that much time. Still, I was charged the overage as well. In any case, Randy, the owner, contacted me. He was concerned that I did not get the service that he knew his company could provide. He offered to come out again free of charge and to fix the remote on the attic fan as well as the lights that were not working. In addition, he refunded me the extra $49 I was charged above the Angie's List deal. Randy was intent on making sure that I walked away a satisfied customer. He sent John out (very friendly and knowledgeable). He made sure to show up on time and also let me know when he was on the way. He did a great job fixing the remote in the fan and making sure all my lights work. I was very pleased with the follow up from Malco Electric. Perhaps the previous electrician that came out was just having a hard day and it didn't help that he was unfamiliar with the attic fan portion. In the end, Malco Electric did make everything right, and I am walking away a satisfied customer who would use them again.

The electrician arrived slighty ahead of schedule and was courteous and professional throughout the service. He listened while I explained the problem then diagnosed the light and line before coming to any conclusions. Onced diagnosed he repaired the problem all within an hour. In the end it was just a loose wiring at the electrical box. The 14 foot ceiling required a long ladder for which he was equipped and for which I was grateful of not having to work at that altitude without assistance. I paid for this with a Angie's List deal of 2hrs of service for $144. I over-estimated the time it would take for the repair because it might havebeen caused by a ceiling water leak. The electrician didn't have to crawl and work in the attic after all so I would have only needed to purchase one hour of service but who new. This was no fault of Malco Electric and I would recommend them for future service.

I corresponded with the contractor with the intent of obtaining a simple estimate to install an electrical jack in my home. The contractor also has a Angies List coupon for $200. The contractor responded, but refused to provide any type of estimate or duration for the job. I asked repeatedly for a time duration or estimate for this simple job, which i would assume an Electrician has done a lot, but he would only quote his hourly cost. This appeared that he wanted free reign to start a job with no estimate and drag out the job to get paid for multiple hours. Similar reviews from other customers complain of this contractor dragging the work out. I would not recommend a contractor who refuses to give an estimate. Pretty flakey.

Purchased coupon for electrical services through Angie's List. Called immediately and scheduled as soon as they had an opening. The front office staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Chris, the electrician was very punctual and professional. When I explained what we needed to have done, he was a bit perplexed and so consulted with a colleague on best practices and ways to complete what we needed to have done. We were trying to install 2 NEMA 14-50 plugs into our garage. It required 6 gauge wire to be ran from the panel to the garage. They worked with us to ensure they were installed to our satisfaction. Chris worked all day and then came back the following day to wrap everything up. Overall, we were very pleased with Malco Electric and would definitely consider working with them again.

I purchased the deal for 2 hours for $144 thinking there was no way it should have gone over 2 hours. The technician even told me when leaving that it should have taken no more than 1.5 hours. First, he tried to fix the light that had gone out in my son's room. The light was also connected to a fan with a remote switch on the wall. He told me that he would not be able to fix it as it was because he didn't know if I needed a new controller for the fan remote or a fan switch (which was a little weird because the fan still worked from the remote switch on the wall...the light was the only thing did not work). Anyway, after knowing that he could temporarily fix it, but I would have to call another electrician back out to get my switch as it was on the wall, I told him to go ahead. This was my first disappointment. Now I was going to have to call someone else out again and pay another service fee and electrician charge because he could not get it back to original condition. After working on that for some time, he replaced a light switch in the kitchen. Did that quickly and it works. Finally, he moved on to the attic fan. Well, after about 45 minutes he comes down and tells me he can't get the fan off. He goes outside for a while and saws off part of the shaft to try to help, but to no avail. Thankfully, about that time I had an AC guy came to the house to fix our AC. Apparently the AC guy had a tool in his truck that easily removed the attic fan from the shaft. So, over an hour was spent on something that should have been done quickly had they come out with the right tool. At $96/hr, I was not too happy. Also, they knew they were replacing an attic fan, so any tools should have been sent. I finally do the walkthrough of everything, and notice that two lightbulbs in my son's room are no longer working. He goes back up to fix that again, and finally finishes everything. I am upset that I had to pay an additional $49 and on top of that am now going to have to call another electrician out to fix the light/fan wall remote in my son's room. Worst case, I do not think I should have been charged that extra amount. Even the technician felt it should have been done in less than 2 hours.

We bought the 2 hours of electrical for $144. I was sort of hoping most of the labor could be done in the two hours, but the disposal hook- up and wiring took most of the two hours. The ceiling fan took about 40 minutes and the dimmers only took about 15 minutes. So it was wishful thinking to think it could have been done faster. He did a really good job and answered my questions and helped us brain storm solutions for the location for the switch to the disposal so that he didn't have to cut through the tile backsplash. We were very pleased with his work.

This company is the BEST.. I bought a 144.00 deal for 2 hours of service. They actually came out 3 times to my house because there were problems with the lights I purchased. They did not charge me again even though they came to my home 3 times. Very polite electricians and I am going to use them for all my electrical work!!

This was a $144 big deal purchase. Everything went fine. He still needs to come back and put a cover on a hole. We paid, I think, $700-something. They were good. He was there on time. What he did was good. He picked up after himself.

Jeff came on time on the scheduled day. I bought the $144 2 hour electrical service Big Deal, plus he had to spend more time to get the job done. He repaired 6 electrical outlets and repaired the doorbell which wasn't working. Jeff is friendly and efficient. He stands behind his work. I would definitely use him again.

The contractor listened to our description, then investigated fuse box and outlets. He installed some new outlets, checked the wiring, and problems resolved. It's been over a month, everything continues to work well. We can definitely give a thumbs up!

The installer arrived on time and called me before to notify me of his arrival. Installer got right to work and finished in about 2.5 hours. The installer also provided advice on some electrical questions I had.

Went well, took longer than expected but end product was good.

Don't know what happened to the 2nd 100ft roll of cat-6 cable, but the empty spool for the first was in the trash can. Charged me $60 for 200 ft of cat-5 cable (a 500ft roll of cat-5e goes for under $40). Charged my for additional 1.5 hours when he was only there for an hour over. WILL NEVER USE THIS CONTRACTOR AGAIN

The whole process went really smooth from beginning to end. Jeff has a great work ethic, is very courteous and consistently communicated throughout the process. He was very patient as I had quite a few things to be done. When he installed the chandelier in the dining room, he noticed that it didn't look right, no fault of his. We both took time to look at it, he adjusted several times until we were both happy. He was more bothered by it than I was! I have new work I need done in a week so I'll be calling on Malco Electric again.

We were building a large water feature and the contractor forgot to tell us how close he was to needing a large electrical outlet. I had exactly 24 hours to get it installed. I called Malco and they re-arranged their schedule to squeeze me in the next day. They were very professional and did a wonderful job

Malco was very professional, prompt, thorough, and knowledgeable. We will definitely use them again for electric work.
