Description of Work: Heather Smith is the new manager at this location. She is awesome. I frequented her former location at 11000 Research where she was an employee. I only went there on days that she would be working. On the phone, I asked for her personally. She helped me tremendously with my pool issues; I called her for chemical issues, cloudiness, totally green pool, etc. Not only does she share her personal experience with these types of problems; she has a WIDE range of expertise. I trusted her advice and did whatever she suggested. The most recent issue she helped me with was suggesting having our sand filter worked on, not just changing the sand but inspecting the valves and such. We had that done and have had a crystal clear pool all summer. As I said, she has become the manager at the location at 13450 Research. Though it is miles away from us, we are now going to be loyal customers at that location. Another great thing about her is that IF she does not have a answers, she will contact someone who might be able to help. Yeah, right, like she would not have an answer. One more thing, she spoke to me in terms I understood. She will repeat any information, from different angles, giving several options if applicable. She is the reason I enjoy going to the pool store. I look forward to seeing her.

This store is pretty close to where I live so one day when I discovered that I need a new O-ring for my chlorinator I went there directly since I cannot wait for a couple of days for shipping. The staff was ok, after a small waiting a young guy asked me what I needed and point me right to the place. When I asked him if I need a silicon lubricate for the O-ring he said "yes" and pointed me to the right product. I was just a bit surprised he didn't recommend it inthe first place. The price was ok, not the cheapest you can find online but not the most expensive either. I will continue to use them when I have an immediate need for pool supplies.

Note: This review deals with Leslie's Repair Service, not their supplies stores. After purchasing a new pump, chlorinator and robotic pool cleaner, I asked them to see if they could find a DE leak (DE was getting into my pool). The repair tech came out and opened up my filter. (That was pretty amusing, but I'll skip over that story). If you've ever looked into a DE filter that has been operating, you know that the filter grids are completely coated with DE, and DE is also on the manifold top, so you really can't see anything but the greyish, wet-sand-looking DE. The tech looked at all this for maybe 5 seconds and said, "Well, that looks fine" and began putting it back together. I almost burst out laughing. There could have been a dozen holes and cracks in there, and he could not have seen them. That was my first mistake. I should have asked him to leave at that point. Next he took the multiport valve apart and said it needed replacing. It was old and it may have needed replacing. So he said he would order a new one. About a week to 10 days later I called him to see where we were. He said, "So you want me to order one?" Uh, yeah, that's what we said last time. Ok, he said. Another week or so passed, and the part arrived. Same guy came out to install it. He cut the pipe and fittings off, to remove the old multiport. And THEN he noticed that he didn't have the right fittings to connect up the new one. He'd have to order them. So now my pool is disabled and can't run. In Texas, in springtime, your pool has to run every day. Now we entered a series of lost deliveries and can't find parts, and my pool goes from clear blue to green, to swamp. Sixteen days it sat there. You couldn't see the top step. When they finally got all the parts and got it running again, they presented me with a bill for $500. No offer to convert my swamp back into a swimmable pool. They comp'ed me some DE and a bottle of Algae Control and took off $80 where they had double-charged me for a service call charge. To get blue again it took three days of running an hour, backwashing, running a hour, backwashing. Run the pool cleaner, clean it's filter. Run the pool cleaner, clean it's filter. It was almost a full-time job. No help from the Service Manager, with whom I talked every other day. No help from the District Manager, who would not even grant my request for a face-to-face meeting so I could tell him what I'd been through. I'm a very unhappy customer. Leslie's recently bought Self Chem and Warehouse Pools, so I guess when you're a monopoly you don't have to make your customers happy. Buyer beware! Oh, did I mention I still have a DE leak?
