It was a great experience from start to finish. Max is great at what he does.

My buyer and I were informed of all the loan details from credit application to closing. Max was also at closing to answer additional questions my buyer had. Max also did my personal mortgage and was on time, I had no surprises, and everything happened as he said it would.

The whole experience was exactly how it is described in the introduction on Angie's List. It was stress free and Max was helpful throughout the entire process. My only regret is that I do not have any other friends to recommend to him that are in need of a mortgage or refinance. All questions were addressed promptly and no concern ever seemed to insignificant for his time. He could always be reached wether it was by phone, text, e-mail, or fax. I mention these things because we made an attempt in 2009 to refinance when rates were trending down. We decided to work with Barton Mortgage because they helped us with our initial mortgage. We assumed that since we had a history with them and were repeat customers that the process would be easy. No such luck. Phone calls would be returned days later; items had to re-faxed and with so many delays on their part we missed our window to take advantage of the lower rates. I felt like we were constantly requesting them to process our paperwork so we could lock in on a good rate. Our experience with Max was the opposite of that. He did everything he could to facilitate the process and we were able to take advantage of the rates at the time. Also, as far as cost goes, it turned out to be half of what it would've cost with the other company. Needless to say, we were very happy with our experience and if he can help us in the future we will be contacting him again.

I was introduced to Max by friends who previously worked with him. I'm a foreign US resident and wanted to buy a home in Dallas. Being a foreign resident and under current stringent conditions to get a mortage I knew it was not going to be easy. However I found Max who really did a good job for me. Starting from a simple application we had to go through a very though approval process where I needed to provide tons of papers and declarations to justify my incomes and liabilities. Max was always there to advise and provide support throughout the full process. Moreover I felt like Max established a connection with my needs and worked as a bridge between my case and what requested by its company and the market. He briefied me at any step making me better understanding what was going on at any time. The process was though but it Max did a great job. I think it's during hard times when you see if people have a value. Max showed he did have.

Based on high grades on Angie's list, I called Max to see if he could help us get a mortgage. We were in the process of buying a new home, and wanted to see if we could get a better deal than what the lender was offering. As it turned out, we ended up using the builder's lender after all, but only because they could close the deal faster than Max could. In Max's defense, they did have a head start on getting the paperwork done. Max's costs were lower than the builder's lender's, so if we would have had more time to close the deal, we would have likely used Max. Our dealings with him were very pleasant, he responded very quickly to our phone calls/emails. He provided an estimate very quickly and helped us to navigate through it. Our best wishes to Max and his team for the future.

We've never had a better mortgage experience in our 35 years of home ownership. In the past, we've either dealt with an unknown mortgage officer in person or over the phone. We weren't prepared for the level of personal attention and care we received from Max. He even showed up at our closing...never had that happen before. Max is personable, professional and efficient. The application process took all of an hour, if that. Throughout the process, Max kept us informed of the loan status. When our closing was rescheduled several times to accommodate the buyer of our old house, Max was flexible and unflappable. Max was recommended to me by two friends (and backed by Angie's List) as I was dealing with headaches and changing stories (fees) from other lenders. I was on schedule to close in 2 weeks. Since I'd already gone through the process with others, I brought my stack of papers to Max and he gave me the best deal (by far!), the most thorough answers, and greatest availability. He was both personable and highly professional. I wish I could give "AAA" ratings because he was actually able to meet the original closing date only 2 weeks from our first meeting!! Unheard of, especially on an FHA loan. He was available to answer questions as they arose by email, phone, and even text message (and, believe me, I had a lot of them). Also important, he was able to swiftly answer questions in layman's terms, showing that he was very well-qualified and knew what he was doing. The closing, which Max attended, went very smoothly. Simply, MAX WAS AMAZING! His charges were much less than my bank's, his rates were better, and his service was exemplary. I cannot say enough about the service Max and his team provided. He made the entire process effortless. He was even at my closing, so I could get the keys to my new home right then. The application process was extremely easy as it was an electronic form. There were some follow up phone calls to us to explain some issues having more depth but the process was fast, efficient, and personable. We qualified for some excellent rates but normally would have expected to have an increased rate for the third property but Max worked diligently and forwarded additional information that qualified us for the same lower rate on the third property. Max is exceptionally knowledgeable and very personable. We enjoyed the financing experience and its outcome. Max was at each closing to provide any background information and to confirm all data was current and available. I highly recommend his services.

I'm very glad I picked Max. I had seen a number of good reviews online and he came with a strong recommendation from my realtor. In our initial meeting Max explained the whole process to me, start to finish, things to watch out for, and the various choices I would need to make. His integrity and honesty were apparent right away, and I decided to hire him pretty much on the spot. Max came to my aid with creative solutions every time I ran into a hiccup during the process. For example, I was changing jobs at the time of the purchase, and he worked with me to satisfy the bank's employment verification process. He saved me half a point on the interest rate by letting me lock down the rate at the most beneficial time, rather than waiting until closing. And he was extremely honest about the source and use of each line item (fee) on the loan paperwork. All of the other lenders I'd looked at had higher rates, gimmicky deals that were bad for me in the long run, and tended to lump all the fees together so that you couldn't easily compare lenders. Max will go out of his way to make sure the whole mortgage process is as easy as it can be. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had, and, try as we might, he always beat competitor prices. I'm not going to say that you shouldn't shop around, but you will be doing yourself a disservice if you do not have Max as an option.

I found Max on Angie's List while researching mortgage companies to handle a cash-out refinance on our home mortgage. He was in our neighborhood, NW Hills, which made it convenient for us to meet with him. Max was responsive, enthusiastic, and helpful. He was upfront about how things would be handled and how long it would take before we closed. I would definitely recommend Max for anyone looking for a competitively priced home mortgage.

About five years ago, I made the biggest purchase of my life...A house! However, this was no small feat. It all started with a close, personal friend and my realtor suggesting I meet with this loan officer named Max. I set up an appointment to meet with Max to discuss my financial capabilities. Max told me some things, which at the time, sort of discouraged me. You have to remember these were the good old days of mortgage lending when every tom, dick, and harry got a fly-by-night adjustable rate loan. Not that I was looking for that, but I did want instant gratification. What I got, instead, was actually, in hindsight, really good advice from Max. He suggested that I not go for the "anyone-can-qualify" loan and instead save up some more money and obtain a more secure loan. So, a monetary goal was agreed upon by Max and I, and the hardest part of the process began....Saving! Needless to say, I reached my goal. In roughly 10 months I had saved the money and was back to knocking on Max's door. With my end of the bargain being met, it was time for Max to work his magic. Max did his best to educate me and hold my hand through every step of the loan process. I must say it was a little intimidating at first. Its a lot of numbers to compute and papers to sign. Never once did I feel like I was being taken for a ride or rushed on through so he could get to the next guy. I felt very trusting of Max the whole time. And in the wake of the financial crisis and the housing bubbles I felt vindicated in my choice of loan officers. The sound advice and the great service I received from Max left such an impression on me that I now recommend him to ALL of my family and friends. I just re-financed my house to take advantage of the shockingly low interest rates, and the second time around was even easier then the first! I can't say enough good things about this guy.

I purchased my first home in October. It was an incredibly stressful process, but Max Leaman put my wife and I at ease-many, many times. He was professional from start to finish and he was completely accessible throughout. We had a thousand questions-not only about our loan but about real estate in general. He made us so comfortable about where we were buying, the value we were getting, etc. Max paid careful attention to the mortgage rates and got us the best possible deal. His fees were very reasonable, especially considering the level of customer service. I've heard about houses not closing on time because the lender didn't have the paperwork in on time. That was never an issue with Max. He had everything done early and there was nothing unexpected. In addition, he was happy to run multiple different scenarios with me so I could see what my payments would be like with many different options. I would highly recommend his services.

Max was incredibly accessible, accurate and efficient. We have been snakebit by mortgage loan officers in the past - lost paperwork, last minute add-on costs, and this experience was totally different. He responded to my on-line request the same day, quoted figures the same day, and I completed the paperwork on-line which was so efficient. His rates were very favorable to others we looked at. He clearly knows his business, always answered questions fully and clearly, and followed up regularly to insure things moved along without delay.
