We chose Max Leaman after reading many positive ratings and reviews on AngiesList.com. They did not disappoint! Top 3 Points: 1) Great customer service by phone, as well as through email. (Thanks Jori and team!) 2) Secure electronic delivery both sending and receiving electronic documents (PDFs). We did all documentation, except final signing, electronically. Very convenient for our busy schedules. 3) "Float Down" option actually kicked-in and knocked our rate down. (This option cost us nothing, but it effectively locked us in to the broker by accepting to pay a sizable fee if we chose not to close with this lender. In our case, it was worth the "risk".) Our only disappointment was that we had to go to title lawyers office to close when we had the impression that we could do the closing at out home... But, I may have confused this service with another lender, though. I also learned that brokers legally do not have much say in choosing titling law firms anymore. (I think this helps to reduce potential conflicts of interest.) An early estimate of cost to close totaled $3500. However, this was before the Good Faith Estimate (GFA) was finalized. We also ran into some titling issues that needed to be taken care of before closing. This raised our cost. But, Max Leaman had no control over this. So, I guess the message is; just expect the unexpected! (And budget accordingly. Or hold off until you can.) Overall, we were happy with our Max Leaman experience. We will do business with them again if/when the opportunity arises.

I found Max to be tremendously helpful and patient in his dealings with me. He answered all of my questions and really went out of his way to help me understand the process (I was a first-time home buyer). He was quick to respond to my questions and request for information. He made everything very easy and I didn't have to worry about anything - he kept my best interests in mind. If I ever were to need another mortgage, I would go to him first! I recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone looking to buy a house.

Our financial advisor suggested that we refinance our home. We proceeded with his recommended mortgage lender, and the entire experience was terrible. Frustrated, I took matters into my own hands, turned to Angie's List and found Max Leaman - Prime Lending. Jori Stern handled the entire process, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The professionalism of this group can't be beat! Every detail was handled carefully and swiftly. I strongly recommend this group and would use them again. I know my son will contact them when he purchases his first home.

Our experience was excellent. Jori worked hard to find us the best interest rate for our type of refinance loan and was very patient and knowledgable about any questions we had. When it came time to close, I was recovering from surgery, so they actually came to our house with all the paperwork and we closed everything there rather than make us drive over to the office to do so. I really appreciated this. Although Primelending does not continue to service your loan after initiating it (they sell them), they do a great job in getting you a fair loan.

I refinanced my residence a few years ago. I used a major bank as my lender, primarily because they were the servicing agent for my mortgage at the time. My experience was so bad that I was reluctant to take advantage of today's low interest rates. I vowed, "Never Again!". Eventually, I decided I must take advantage of the interest market in spite of my fears of an unpleasant experience. This time I looked to Angie's List and selected Max Lehman - Prime Lending due to all the high reviews. I cannot say enough about what a smooth and professional experience the mortgage process was with them. I would rate my experience with Lehman as outstanding. I worked directly with Jori Stern, Loan Officer, and Janey Allcorn, Loan Processor. Both were courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, prompt, and dependable. Lehman furnished a competitive rate, reasonable closing fees, and great service. What a contrast to my prior big bank experience.

We chose Max Leaman and Primelending based on the reviews on Angieslist. Our loan closed yesterday. I am a corporate attorney and have pretty high standards for attention to detail, accuracy and responsiveness. Max and his team met or exceeded those expectations at every turn. Documents were produced quickly and accurately and e-mails and phone calls were promptly returned, even on nights and weekends. At our request, our closing loan documentation was provided several days in advance of our closing. Funding occurred within 15 minutes of our signatures at the closing table. Both our real estate agent and selling agents had positive impressions of Max and his team. Having a lender who is known for prompt and efficient execution on one's loan can be an advantage for a buyer in a competitive market. Our experience with Max was far better than our prior interactions with lenders. In all, I would recommend Max to a friend or family without any reservations.

I chose to work with Max and the PrimeLending team in Austin even though I was buying a home in Houston. They made my shortlist because of the excellent reviews they have consistently received on Angie's list. I ultimately chose them after receiving three quotes (including theirs) at the beginning of my mortgage process. His fees were the most competitive. So, choosing PrimeLending was easy. Max was exceptionally responsive, professional, warm, and prompt in every interaction from the beginning through the closing of my loan. We purchased a spec house which suffered from prolonged delays. This resulted in a very complex closing where our interest rate was locked over 60 days prior to close. Max and his team worked tirelessly with us to find solutions that would allow us to keep a great rate while minimizing any rate lock extension costs.Further, the appraiser had to be sent out numerous times and miscommunications between the builder required smoothing over on more than one occasion. Thus, I am confident that he and his team members spent much more time and energy on this loan than 95% of those they encounter in a given year. They rose to every challenge and invariably treated us with the utmost integrity, care, and flexibility. In sum, I would recommend Max to anyone looking for a mortgage. I would trust him with my family and closest friends. Work with him and I promise you will be glad you did.

After much of a research on Angie's List and a few conversations with different lenders, we decided to call Max Leaman Prime Lending. Jori and Tiffany, our loan officers, were amazing! Highly experienced, easy to talk to, always responded to our calls and emails, and most important, gave us the best rates. During the process, we encountered some difficulties. However, they both were helpful as they worked hard in order to continue with the process and complete it as quick as possible. Excellent Experience!

Went to Max Leaman based on reviews from Angie's list. I contacted Jori and she walked us through the process. She provided a GFE and my wife and I discussed it. We decided to move forward with the refinancing of our home using Max Leaman. The whole process took about 45 days and Jori contacted me via email at every steps of the process. It was simple and we closed on the date given to us at the beginning. Could be more satisfied!

We found Max on Angie's list to provide mortgage services for our parents. He did such a great job that we decided to use him as well. Max was prompt at returning calls, and was very efficient in his handling of the transaction from start to finish. We actually had to do very little work - just gathering typical documentation, and filling out an application. We did not have to submit paperwork or provide documentation multiple times, as with some brokers. He was always straight forward, and reassuring in our conversations - we never felt uneasy. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we highly recommend him.

No hassle, no surprise and quick closing. That is what Max Leaman and his team have offered me. Working for a foreign company I'm an out-of-the-box case since my paperwork is not the standard one that may be required for any other US citizen working for a US firm. Here is where Max and his team have made the greatest difference by showing a great deal of capabilities to run a custom process within record time and being able to get underwriter acceptance at the first attempt. Max has been able to understand the specifics of my case, guided me through the process, briefed and advised on the best approach to use. I'm very impressed with the willing to work and to provide an excellent service that the team has showed at any step of the process.

We tried to refinance in mid 2010 shooting for a rate around 4.875%. We worked with one of Dave Brennan's recommended firms, but found the required PMI costs would rise to $160/mo from our current $61 on a 6.5% mortgage. That plus closing costs of over $5000, not counting escrow deposits, reduced the savings too much, so we did nothing. late Jan 2013, with rates now in the 3.5 - 3.625% range, we decided to try again. I provided this to each of four candidate lenders: Home value based on realtor's comp study, mortgage balance, credit score for wife and myself, w-2 and 1099 incomes, debts, annual real estate tax and insurance costs. I told each I wanted to get written ballpark quotes - cost per month, escrow requirements, estimated closing costs; then I would pick one or two to proceed with formal refinance application. Costco: I found out Costco was contracting with banks and with an Executive Costco Membership, their handling fees would be maxed at about $500. As soon as I requested a quote and submitted basic facts, I received a call from Bank of the Internet within minutes. They were able to provide verbal rough quotes on monthly costs, stated I needed $100/mo PMI, and mortgage amount needed, but could not or would not provide detail closing costs, which looked like $4K based on other numbers. But after that first call, I could never talk to the rep in person and exchanged emails and voice mails and played phone tag. They were quoting 3.625% A 2nd bank recommended by Costco also called almost immediately, and gave me rough verbal estimates. This one also said I needed PMI for about $100/mo. Quote was 3.625%. Quoted closing costs were vague. Navy Federal Credit Union - my main bank - I called in, gave enough facts over the phone to submit a rough quote request, and received an emailed detailed quote the next day. But it included exhorbitant max numbers such as a $2000 survey charge, $500 appraisal, too many months of escrow, etc., which totally turned me off. No one ever followed up by phone or email, ever. Quote was 6.25%. I know they were quoting on the high end, but this was ridiculous. Then I looked at Angies list, found Max Leaman, Prime Lending, and submitted quote request about noon, Friday 1/18. I received a reply soon, and a call from Jori Stern. I discussed my desires and facts with her, and had numbers from her that afternoon. I had given her the comp analysis from my realtor friend and she assured me that PMI was not needed. I received answers on Sat, and by Monday was given a written quote with closing costs in the range of $3100, not counting escrow. By Tuesday, 1/20, I was emailing past tax returns, pay stubs, etc. Jori was always prompt in her replies, and gave me sound advice on whether I should buy down the rate with points (not worth it) and on other issues. We were shooting for a 3/1 closing date. With their low closing costs and the absence of PMI, our mortgage cost per month, including escrow for tax and insurance will be about 29% lower and the savings will pay for the cost of refinancing in about 9 months. By 2/5, Jori had confirmed a target close date of 3/1/2013. Over the next week Jori promptly emailed answers to any questions I had and kept me informed of the status of our mortgage In Mid Feb Jori told me Tiffany Garcia would be my Loan Processor. Tiffany promptly contacted me, and asked for a few more documents. Then I was contacted by Bryan Adair of Patten Law, which was handling the Title, letting me know when the notary public man would conveniently visit us in our home at a time of our choosing to sign the paperwork. We did not have to go to a title company office. Paperwork was signed in about 30 minutes on 3/1. On 3/7 Jori let me know the mortgage had been funded. The notary handed us a DVD with all of the documents on 3/1, and on 3/4 Bryan Adair emailed us copies of the 140 pages of signed documents Throughout this process, everyone we dealt with - Jori Stern, Tiffany Garcia, Patten Law, and the notary public - were professional, knowledgeable,courteous, and efficient. Overall, I probably spent no more than 3 hours on this, primarily gathering,scanning, and emailing the initial set of income, tax return, employment and other documentation. I really felt like a customer in the hands of professionals. 12/24/13 Just got a birthday card, starbucks gift card and a thank you card, signed by each of the team at Max Leaman - a nice professional touch nine months after we closed our refinance.

Everyone we worked with througout the process was professional and responsive. I was a little concerned with using out of town company but it was not an issue. The process was easy, we got a good interest rate, we were able to send our documents securely and it was convenient to have the notary come to our home to sign the papers rather than having to go to the title company office.

Jori Stern knows customer service. She was always very prompt in responding to my questions, provided straight forward help, and most importantly to me she never badgered me on making a commitment. Prior to dealing to her I discussed refinancing with a number of brokers from other companies that could sometimes out do the worst of any used car dealer. The whole process took just over a month from the time I had her lock in my rate. Was also pleasantly surprised right at closing when she was able to drop the rate I had originally signed up for! (The float down option helped). Very pleased with my experience and results.

After very frustrating responses from several lenders and mortgage companies, including GMAC my current loan servicer, I called Max Leaman Prime Lending based on the rating on Angie's List. From start to finish, they were friendly, helpful, and upfront about refinancing my home. I had difficulty getting Good Faith Estimates from other companies, but Max Leaman Prime was honest and true to their word. Jori was very easy to work with always responsive to calls and emails. I had totally dreaded the process. If I had known how easy refinancing would be with Max Leaman, I would have done it long ago. Oh, and did I mention they also offered me the best rate? I was very satisfied and would highly recommend Max Leaman Prime Lending to anyone in need of mortgage services!

I decided to go with this company due to the other Angie's List reviews I had read about them. I specifically asked for Jori Stern since I liked what I had read about her work. I was not disappointed in the least. From start to finish, Jori was extremely responsive to questions, and responded to her emails almost immediately. Jori always gave straight answers without leaving me feeling like I was talking to someone trying to pressure me or trying to sell me something. Even though Prime Lending is based out of Austin, I did all of our business over the phone and email and it couldn't have been more stress/hassle free. At closing, they sent out a notary to my home at my convenience and we signed all of the closing documents in my kitchen. The notary left me a CD ROM with all of the documents I signed on there as PDF files. I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. This is my second refinance and I was so impressed by Jori's service and attention to detail combined with outstanding customer service, that I can tell you I will never use another lending company for a home purchase or refinance so long as Jori works in this business. My wife and I plan on purchasing another home within the next 5-7 years and I hope that Jori is still in the business at that time. I have already personally recommended her and this company to several co-employees. Go with this company, specifically Jori, and you will not be disappointed!

Great experience. I was in the position of having to base my pending home purchase on primarily self-employment income. There were other mitigating factors as well. The combination of these factors created a lot of uneasiness. I called a few other brokers prior to placing a call to Max. He was very personable and easy to talk to from the onset. My conversations with him were preliminary as he laid the groundwork as to what to expect and any difficulties I may encounter in obtaining a loan. Regarding price, the team provide a generous closing credit in exchange for a small bump in my rate and in order to match another quote I received from an online lender. I much preferred working with someone local, especially a group with such a positive online reputation...so their price flexibility made my decision easy. When it came down to the details of the loan I worked primarily with Amy. She assured me that despite the unique circumstances that we could make the numbers work. It wasn't a line...she followed through on that promise. Further, anytime I had a question, I would hear back the same day. Any and all questions I had (which were many) were always explained to my satisfaction. All deadlines were met well in advance and there were no surprises. Many things complicated the actual sale, but none were the product of PrimeLending...they were the one reliable piece of the puzzle. Of all the professionals I dealt with in the home buying process, Primelending is the one entity I have no hesitation in recommending to friends, family, and the Angie's list community.

I had been on the fence about refinancing for some time. I checked around online to see what was available but I didn't see anything I liked. Then I remembered my Angies list account and I checked if mortgage refinancing companies were included. Fortunately they are included and I started going through the reviews. There were so many positive comments on Max Leaman at PrimeLending it convinced me to check and see if refinancing was right for me. I am quite pleased I did, the entire experience was of the highest quality. Every question was answered promptly and professionally, every request was made respectively and responses acknowledged with a thank you. Even though I am in Dallas the entire process was easily handled over email and the phone. I didn't even have to leave my house for the closing, the notary came to me!
