My impression was that initially, they were really good. They gave me the explanation I needed and described what types of flooring they had to offer; they were very good teachers. They got sort of pushy once the sales really kicked in. Their estimated price was $7500. I would probably contact them again in the future for another quote.

We recently had carpet installed in our home by Landers. My wife and I decided to drive well out of our way to shop at Landers due to a recommendation from a relative. We found that they have a very good selection and their prices are more or less in line with other stores we shopped at. Unfortunately our sales rep made some mistakes on the measurements of the area to be carpeted so they had to come back the following week with more material to finish the job. This seriosly annoyed me since I had called and spoken with Stephanie Landers to confirm that the salesman's measurements were accurately and she assured me that they were. The salesman had made a number of errors on the initial invoice which made me question his attention to detail, hence my conversation with Stephanie (turns out my concerns were well founded). On the bright side, the carpet looks very nice and the installation crew were very good, on time and professional. Since they were not able to get it right the first time, we're going to give another outfit a try for the hardwoods on the other side of our home.

This place was highly recommended to me by my friend. She bought her wood floors here and had them installed by another person. I found their wood prices to be reasonable but I found their installation price too high. I found their carpet price to be too high for what we were trying to accomplish ~ Basic carpet for three bedrooms, nothing fancy, in a basic color. The first time I went in the sales guy was very helpful, and we did see some wood floors we liked. There were a few boards not available that he wanted us to see so he took our contact information and said he would contact us once they had come back in.I never heard from him. I called them, spoke to a different sales man and he said he was sorry for the lack of communication and that he would help me. He was helpful. But we decided to go with another company that we felt was a better match for our needs.

We had a list of about 10 companies we interviewed. At the end of the day, we agreed to hire Landers. We had an excellent experience with Landers. Beginning with Dale, whom we thank for sharing his knowledge of the wood installation process and making the estimation and buying process as easy as it can be. What we like about Landers is a one point accountability for everything, including selection and purchase of the wood, installation materials and the installation process itself. Landers was right on their estimate, with no hidden surprises in the process. We had to get our stone cut in the living room and chimney cut at the bottom of to fit our wood and they were able to cut it without having dust flying everywhere in our house. Their installation crew was extremely professional, taking special care to details as i have not seen in other labor crews before. They made sure to clean everything up when the job was done. In summary, Landers performed an excellent job, if you need wood floors installed, make no mistakes and select Landers!

I visited the showroom a couple of times and each time took home samples to look at in my own home. Finally made my decision and supplied the measurements myself. They scheduled the install, but then we had to move it because of rain- not their fault. The crew arrived on time the day of install- they did a great job of moving all my remaining heavy furniture. They did the install and I went out to lunch. They were finished before I got back- had the whole mess cleaned up too. Carpet looked good and felt great. Very happy!

I like the fact that you go to the showroom and select your flooring rather than having a salesperson bring samples of what they think you'll like to your home. Lander's has a great selection of carpeting, tile and flooring. Grant helped us thru the selection and measuring phases, coordinated with the carpet manufacturer to insure dye lots were the same (we ordered different weights of carpeting in the same color) and coordinated the installation. Installation went very well and the carpet looks great. Also installed a hardwood floor in the master closet which is beautiful. I recommend Landers...they have traditional and some very non-traditional flooring products. The service is great and pricing fair.

Everything was well done and done in a timely manner. Folks we dealt with were all professional and courteous.

They were excellent and we did not have any problems with them. It's a beautiful floor that we have. They were fairly priced. They quality is beautiful so we think they were reasonable. We went to the showroom to place an order and there was a sales person to assist us. We got good customer service from them. The flooring came in when they said it would come in without any problem. I would recommend them and definitely use them in the future. We got our contractor from Angie's List and that guy did an excellent job. We rely on Angie's List.

Outstanding. Thier sales person was professional and knew what he was talking about. No high pressure. Very informative and helpful in selecting the right carpet based on our need and desired budget. We did have a small problem with the installation where some seams were not installed right and there was a small area that needed to be re-done but it was a large job (2500 sq ft). They sent out the installer right away and replaced or re-installed those sections. No hassle, no headache, just great service.

They were recommended to me by my interior decorator. The experience was excellent. They were very efficient, the crew was courteous and they sent in a team that was used to working together. They were able to complete the job in one day which was very helpful because I took the day off to be here. They were very helpful with moving the furniture, taking out the carpet, leveling the foundation where it needed to be leveled, setting up fans for it to dry over lunch time then coming back in and installing the floor. They cleaned up after themselves, they were done by 4:30 in the afternoon and I was amazed.

This was a big, expensive job, and we spent a lot of time researching flooring companies before making our purchasing decision. Dale from Landers did a fantastic job helping us to decide the appropriate flooring for our house. Tile takeup was messy, but given the size of the job I'm not sure that it could have been done more cleanly. More importantly, there was no noticeable damage to cabinets/walls as a result of the tear-up. Wood floors were installed in one day -- they showed up with a huge crew of 8 people and worked dawn-til-dusk. We found 3 small imperfections, and the installers came 2 days later to fix and did a great job. After the wood was installed we decided to go with Landers for our carpets. The carpet installers also did a nice job. Overall, I highly recommend Landers, especially for wood floors. They float the floor edge-to-edge, and really know what they are doing. Dale was a great person to work with and made the selection process very enjoyable.

While I know this review is long overdue, I would like to share our experience with fellow Angie's List Austinites who may be considering a flooring project for your home but are anxious about the entire renovation adventure. I was a ‘Nervous Nelly’ about it in the beginning of our flooring project with so many questions and so little time. Not knowing exactly what would work best for our home, being very pregnant with our second child while working a high-level, demanding corporate job at the time, just made me dread the whole project. But I knew that if we were ever going to feel good about living and entertaining in our home, updating our floors was must. Landers has a wonderful selection in a beautiful showroom setting where I could lay out the samples and get a feel for how it would work, all the while keeping a watchful eye on my toddler on the closed circuit while he had a ball playing in their room designed to keep kiddos entertained. The staff was very knowledgeable and sincerely wanted to help us make the right choice for our home - they asked the lots of questions to help narrow down our selection, and they were patient with the plethora of technical questions my husband had about different types of wood flooring, why one was engineered differently and more 'bullet proof' than another, and so on. Once we made our choice, they clearly explained how the installation process would work, and they stuck to the schedule despite some challenges we had with leveling our slab to prepare for installing the wood. The installation crew was very professional and mindful of our needs – they carefully moved our furniture into the garage before the work began, took pride in the work they were doing, were mindful of our toddler’s exploration habits and schedule, and put everything back when the floors were complete. Three years later, our floors still look fantastic despite our two rough & tumble young boys, plus a large dog and a cat. I have even gone back to the Landers showroom several times since to start visualizing our next flooring project – and they always sincerely ask if we still love our floors and if they’re holding up as expected. And while they did provide a Lifetime Warranty on the Installation, I just don’t see how I could ever use it, but it’s reassuring to know it is there - and so are the Landers. Now I know first-hand why Landers is well known for high quality flooring and service, and why many of Austin’s best custom builders and designers choose to work with them. If you want selection and an experience that forgoes the dreaded lowest-bidder fiasco, with amazing flooring that will stand the test of time (kids, pets, and life!), plus a Lifetime Installation Warranty to give you that extra boost of confidence, Landers Premier Flooring is definitely the best choice when making such an important investment in your home and life.

We liked them quite a bit, but we haven't done the floor yet. We were pretty certain that if we bought, we were going to buy from them. It just wasn't right at that particular time. We went into the store and got a quote based on my own measurements; they did not actually come out. The gentleman we worked with was extremely experienced. He had been doing flooring for years and years. He really knew what he was talking about and taught us a lot. We were impressed with him.

They were excellent and Stephanie was great to work with. When you go in and visit their store, they have a huge selection and she will gently direct you into an area when you tell her what you want. She gives you good ideas and suggestions, she isn’t pushy at all, and is great to work with. She returns phone calls very promptly and I’ve gotten nothing but excellent customer service from them. The subcontractors that work for them are very good and I’ve had an all around good experience. We didn’t do any comparison shopping but I think their price is in the ballpark. We would definitely use them again!

Great service from start to finish from in-store to install. They even installed the molding I purchased and painted. Excellent work and efficient.

It went well. It actually took longer than we thought, but the end result was worth the wait.

My designer works with them a lot. I went there with my designer, and, yes, I thought this was going to be expensive! It was actually pretty reasonable. I pay my designer by the hour, but thanks to the large selection and our "general" plan it was easy. I was able to pick out what I want within 1 hour. Stephanie Landers, she is the co-owner in charge of sales, gave me samples to take home and show my husband. This was on a Thursday. John came the following Monday to measure and pick up the samples, so we had the whole weekend to play with them and to compare prices. By the end of the week he emailed 2 floorplans with quotes. One was more expensive because it had fewer seams. We don't like seams, so it was the more expensive plan for us. It was still within our budget and it included the highest quality padding and the installation. I had to wait about 3 weeks for the material to arrive. This was due to my choice for one of the stairs, a rich red with a pattern that had to be special ordered. I had to wait another week for it to be installed because of my availability and because John wanted to make sure the best guys would do the job. They came, stayed the whole day, worked non-stop until the job was done, which was around 8 pm. The red stairs have a pattern carpet, and I thought it didn't look right. I called John and Stephanie came and agreed with me. She ordered more of the same carpet and some steps (I had pointed out 4, the carpet layer did 5) were redone a couple of weeks later. I said that I had a lot of red carpet left from the first time and I thought we could use that for at least a couple of steps, but Stephanie said I should save that in case of future accidents and should that pattern no longer be available. She literally said; "Just let me take care of you". Anyway, she did and it didn't cost me an extra dime!
