KTA Construction

I hired Paco to frame an Home Owners Association pavilion for my company. Coordinated this project with him November 5th. We scheduled out to start two weeks later. He delayed the project 3 times long into December (10th). Each time I had to communicate our delay with my client. The new date to start was set for December 16th. On December 10th he decided he didn't like our pay structure or the fact we would hold retainage out until the project punch list was complete. Tonight he called and said he didn't feel comfortable with our pay structure. This company doesn't carry General Liability, Workman's Comp Insurance and doesn't have the funds available to fix any warranty issues. I would stay clear not only of this guy/company, but other companies with similar stories.

KTA subcontracted some of the work, but they were here to monitor the progress all the time. Each subcontractor was outstanding and I would not hesitate to have any of them back again. The project was done on time and on cost. One of the best things was that we were able to make changes as the project progressed. For example, when the stone masons were here, we worked with them to modify how it would look. They had some ideas based on their experience that were very helpful. Overall, the additional was better than I imagined. KTA is a family business and by the time the project was completed I met four generations of the family that owns KTA construction.
