I wish Angie's List had been around when I chose this company to replace my hail-damaged roof. I should have just kept the old roof (which did not leak) instead of having Kettler put a new one on, which did leak. When I reported the problem to them, I was told they were busy and I'd have to wait for someone to check it out. This was during a period of heavy rainfall in Austin. So, while I waited for them to come out, my kitchen ceiling got water damaged. When they finally came out to fix whatever they had done wrong, they had the gall to send me a bill for for them fixing their mistake. AND when I complained about that, the owner said I was a "borderline psychotic." I reported my experience to the Better Business Bureau, where I noticed quite a large number of other unsatisfied customers. So that was my experience with Kettler Roofing. Hire at your own risk!

My experience with Kettler Roofing was horrible. Of little consolation is a lower tax bill. The tax appraisal office saw a video and pictures of the damage they caused, such as deep drywall cracks throughout the house, sharp points of hundreds of oversized nails poking thought the second floor ceiling, water damaged walls, and reduced the house's value by $25,153. Sadly, that tax cut cannot help with the loss of irreplaceable family pictures and personal property. Mr. Kettler narrates an advertising DVD and talks about his honesty, integrity, experience since 1972, and there is footage of multiple attractive roofs and workmen behaving in a highly professional manner. In my opinion, it would be a more realistic if the contents of Mr. Kettler's Everything You Wanted to Know About Roofing (and then some) DVD included a non-English speaking crew showing up without notice at crack o' dawn, removing the roof with storm clouds gathering in the background, home owners dodging falling shingles and runaway pitchforks as they scramble to get outdoor furniture and their vehicle out of harm's way, and finding cracked plaster and broken family pictures and mementos throughout their home at the end of the day. The new roof leaked like a sieve. Mr. Kettler added a third layer of roofing to existing layers, creating a situation whereby water collected under the multiple layers and literally ran down the walls inside. This practice violates roofing construction code but you might find it hard to believe if you heard Mr. Kettler's spin on it. I spent an entire day with Mr. Kettler in court and I can honestly say that I have never met someone who lies as easily. I found out the hard way that when thousands of dollars are at stake, some people will say whatever to keep money in his own pocket. I would never in a million years recommend this company. If you want additional information, please check some footage I posted to YouTube and then decide if this is the kind of roof you want. Just go to the YouTube website and search using this word: bjeanvw The videos titled Kettler Roofing Leaks are probably the most helpful, and only a few minutes in length.
Description of Work: The provider's crew installed a roof that leaked and in the process caused considerable and cosly damage to my home and possessions. Their attempts to repair their mistakes only made matters worse. After a small claims case, I brought in another construction company to repair and redo the roof and damage.

I was kind of mixed on the results. It was an insurance claim because of hail damage. The roof was fine. They had to come back because I had a leak. They did fix it and it seems to have held. I did have another area this year on the side of the house. It was something they should have spotted and fixed originally, but they did not. I called it to their attention this year. The owner came out and looked at it and offered some patch thing. I ended up paying an extra $100 and I wasn't too pleased with that. I think it should have been covered under the warranty. He kind of dropped in my estimation. His price was relatively high in comparison to other people. I was impressed because he had a video and he had been in business for quite a while. I don't know if I could have done better with someone else on the price. He was responsive. I probably would look for someone else in the future.
