Description of Work: Mr. Motl is great, very knowledgeable. However, he is trying to retire from the business of sewing machine repair, so I'm not sure if he will be available for me to use his services again.

Description of Work: The cam on my 35-year old Singer sewing machine broke. Mr. Motl replaced it and serviced the machine, where others were telling me I neede to buy a new machine. Mr. Motl recommended repairing it as this model has metal parts and still has life in it. am very happy to have my Singer working again. Thanks, Mr. Motl!

+ -1 moreMy wife purchased a used portable sewing machine about 2 years ago and promptly put it in the attic and there it sat in the Texas heat for 2 years. Recently she decided to make some curtains so out comes the sewing machine. When you tried to start it, it would jam. Based on the reviews on Angie's List, I took the machine to Joey. The jamming was fixed with a minor adjustment and he cleaned and oiled the machine. I took the machine one day and it was ready the next. The price was very reasonable. Joey was very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend him. He works out of his house so I suggest you call before going. I almost missed him.

+ -1 moreMy 27 yr old son was with me, and even he was impressed. (hard to do) The man is a gem! This was probably the best experience doing business I've ever had. I wish all businesses were like him. I knew, right off the bat, that he was going to take care of me, and I was right.
Description of Work: A friend gave me a very old sewing machine he found in an old building he was working on. I've never heard of the brand before. The needle would turn by hand, but the motor couldn't turn it. Joey fixed that for the cost of the estimate, and bought a small inexpensive part. I don't think he charged a mark-up for it, either. I have never seen such an improvement! He cleaned it up to mint condition, and it's the quietest sewing machine I have ever heard. It's like butter!

+ -1 moreHe was just very cordial and very helpful. I called a few others places and they were more expensive and they tried to get me to buy a new one. He took it and looked at it and said it was in good condition. The other companies turned me off. He was very easy going. He picked it up and said let me clean it for you. He told me it worked very well. He offered to show me some of the features on it free of charge.
