JA Tile Works

This was the third time we've hired Juan. After the first two times, we decided to stop collecting estimates, and just call Juan first. Juan is a transparent an honest businessman.

The owner, Juan came and gave me a reasonable estimate and timeframe for the work to be started and completed. Although, Juan did not do the work, he had two of his employees - Guillermo and Jose come to work. They were friendly and did an excellent job. They worked each day and took a short lunch and always picked up after themselves. They were so friendly and polite and I trusted them that I could leave my house to go to the store. Even when I came back, they came to help me unload the vehicle. They were a few challenges with language as I do not speak spanish but we still managed to communicate fine. They were always on time and I am thoroughly pleased with the completed work. This was half of what other contractors wanted to charge me. They were at my house for a week and a half to complete it since there were only 2 of them, but the quality was worth it. I would highly recommend them!

Juan Alba (the owner) returned our call promptly and gave us a very competitive estimate. He was not the cheapest in town, but after meeting with him 3 times, we believed he was the most professional. He always showed up on time (or showed up early, and waited in his truck). He recommended a tile warehouse in Austin, but after looking at the tile at the tile warehouse and comparing it to a high-end tile at a big box home store, we decided to go with the big box home store tile. Juan advised me on how to purchase the tile (ensuring that all the tile came from the same "dye lot"). He even picked up the tile - FOR FREE - and delivered it to my house for free! His crew worked very hard each day, taking off only about 30 minutes for lunch. They always asked if they could use the bathroom and cleaned up the job site everyday. My wife appreciated the crew's courtesy and manners. I've laid some tile myself and I can do it well, but these guys were pro's. All the lines are perfectly straight and the tile is completely level. Juan and his workers well exceeded our expectations. The best thing I liked about Juan is that when he said he was going to call the next day, he called, when he said his guys would start work at 8am, they started at 8am. When he said the work would take 7 days, it took 7 days. And, we did all our business on a handshake. Juan is a good businessman and his guys are true craftsmen.
