Description of Work: We had a rodent problem. Sean has taken care of our problem in a courteous and professional manner. The people we've worked with over the phone are responsive and knowledgable. They have not only taken care of the rodent problem but are retained on a quarterly basis to keep us pest free. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I found much rotted material at the bottom of and behind the baseboards when I pulled up the carpet in a closet on installing linoleum there. I panicked thinking I had had an infestation of termites or other insects. J & J's Mike Ball came out two days later, at a mutually convenient time, drilled away part of the sheet rock over the rotted baseboards, inspected the interior of the wall, which abuts my bath tub on the other side. The area he inspected showed no evidence of termites, or that the area had ever been treated for such. Another termite inspector had told me two years ago that this area had been treated for termites previously, inaccurate info which cost me $150 when I bought the condo. After drilling a 3' hole in my sheetrock and inspecting the interior space with a gadget like a dentist's mirror, Mike installed a grill to cover it so that in any later time, the same space could be inspected for possible termite invasion. He said I had no evidence of termite infestations, charged me nothing and gave me acres of peace of mind. Today, I asked Monica Malone, Mike's wife, to check my place for bedbugs. Our condo units have had several infestations in several apartments lately and I had a number of rash-producing bites on my stomach and neck. She came, inspected the beds, the curtains, walls, etc. She showed me photos of bad infestations to assure me what infestations look like. She answered each of my many questions so thoroughly and compassionately. She and he didn't act like I was a dumb bunny. Single women, and anyone else, I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

I have used them in the past for termite inspection and flea treatment for a pier and beam house, and more recently for a slab house termite inspection, flea treatment, and general pest control. Whomever answers the phone, you can expect honesty and professionalism when making an appointment or asking questions. I recommend Star for services because she is very informative and helpful, with an amazing ability to make pest control service interesting and fun with her engaging personality. I learn something new about my home, treatments and chemicals with every service. I have referred her to friends and they have also been happy and grateful to know a trustworthy technician. The best thing about J and J is that they will not charge you for services that you don't need and will give an honest assessment. I will not call anyone else for pest control.

+ -1 moreI called J and J Pest Control, to come and see if I had bed bugs. It seemed like I was getting bite everynight. They came and looked and told me that I indeed had them. They told me what to do and they came back sprayed, drilled holes in the walls and put some powder in there, brought me some bedbug covers put them on my beds. Jand J Pest Control is the only ones that really seems to know how to get rid of them. They check back often to see if I have had anymore problems. I can't say enough of how grateful I am to get rid of those pesky bugs and I will check use them for all my other pest problems.

+ -1 moreWHAT INTEGRITY! I had 5 businesses come out to give estimates - all of them rated highly on Angie's List. Only this business had the honesty to tell me that the termite damage I was concerned about actually had no signs of active termites. In fact, I later found out that the spot I was concerned about was in fact treated 1.5 years ago before I moved in. You were also one of the lowest bids and seemed just as knowledgeable about treating termites. I liked how your business was efficient in scheduling in estimate - asking me to wait until you were in the area. Lowers cost to me, benefits the environment because of less travel, and little inconvenience to me because the termites can wait a few days. Thank you so much for saving me the time and money, and the environment the unnecessary pesticide! I will definitely be using your company for any future pest control needs I have.

+ -1 moreWe had observed some mud- like substance stuck to the foundation and touching the wood siding. We also cleaned up a type of sawdust emerging from two electric sockets on one occasion on that side of the house. In additon, we had seen what looked like silverfish in the closets. Worried about termites, I called several companies from this list for evaluation and/or treatment estimates. One company showed up with poison in hand ready to exterminate without ever inspecting to determine if ,indeed, termites were present. Another company only wanted to sign us up on a costly plan to spray the house every 2 months for the silverfish. Jand J sent a very professional woman to inspect and recommend treatment, if needed. She concluded that no termites were present and possibly acrobat ants had been active in early summer but since had gone. She said to watch it carefully next spring and then call again for an inspection and possible treatment then. As far as the silverfish, she advised bait stations ($11.25) for a month to 6 weeks. If no results, then a complete dusting of the attic. She did not see the need for spraying since we had no roaches. This company is honest, professional and saved me hundreds of dollars with their integrity. I fully recommend the company and the inspector.

Several companies started spouting that we need to throw away mattresses and have all of our clothes boiled and some other scary stuff and the cost was between $1000-1500. When Becky came out, she was polite and understanding and comforting. Make no mistake, we had to do a ton of work in the house to prepare, but Becky came and did her thing (under budget) - note she moved and turned over everything in order to ensure complete treatment. The only criticism I have is that Beckey was late for the second treatment and wasn't able to call me and let me know when she would be arriving.

+ -1 moreThey assign someone to us and the same person continually comes to our home, and that's what I like about them. The rep knows my home and my problem. She is aware of what is going on and what needs to be done. We pay them per visit. They tackle other problems if necessary when they are there on their quarterly visit and don't charge us extra for the additional services. The office is good. They call and remind us about the appointment. We have used them for quite a few years.

They send me a notice as a reminder, and if I require their service, I give them a call, and they set up an appointment. They usually call me before they could come. They do a really good job. The same person comes out every time, so he is very trustworthy. My overall experience with them has been good.

+ -1 moreThey are very customer oriented. They send out reminder postcards. They are very easy to make an appointment with. They always arrive when they say they are going to, sometimes early. Mike, a technician, is very good at spotting problems and he clears them up. We had some varmints in the attic and they put something down to get those too. The products they use do not harm my animals so they are eco-friendly. I have been using the services for ten years and I will continue to use them in the future.

I only had them out once a year for preventative maintenance, but if we saw bugs, they would come right out and take care of the problem. The workers were respectful and polite and have been doing a good job of keeping the bugs away for us.
