This company was given the work order to fix our water heater through our home warranty company, OneGuard. The plumbing office sent a text at 9:30 pm saying they would be there the next day. They did not show for the first scheduled appointment. They did call to tell me they could not come, but they called 4 hours after they were supposed to have been at our house. Plumber came the following day and spent about 2 hours diagnosing the problem, which he said was a bad regulator. Said he could not get the part from the supplier and it would have to be mailed from Houston, and he could not come until the following Monday. Received a text that night saying they could come fix the water heater at 7 on Monday morning. I asked how they could fix it then if the part was being shipped and the plumber told me it would not be in until Monday. All of this via text, no one ever answered the phone when I called. Same plumber returns late Monday morning. He spent over 2 hours trying to change out the regulator. Then came and told me the new regulator was faulty and he would have to get another new regulator. After he left, I called our home warranty company and requested they reassign my work order to another plumber because of all these difficulties. Further internet search revealed the company had an F rating with the BBB and a 1 star rating on yelp. All the stories sounded like mine. Took too long to diagnose and repair problem, never able to fix the problem, and had to have a new plumber come in and fix everything. Happy ending in that the new plumber, Boone Plumbing, diagnosed problem over the phone (said it was a common problem in my brand of water heater), came out the next day, and despite having to go get several new parts (J&B had taken several parts with them to exchange for new parts and also left the line unsealed), had the water heater fixed in less than 2 hours (1 1/2 hours of which was him going to get the new parts). Last note, J&B changed the dials on our second identical water heater (not sure why), turning the temp dial up to high, causing scalding hot water to come out when I drew the bath for my children that night.
Description of Work: Attempted to repair our water heater - the pilot light would not stay lit.

Just one example: 2 days before Christmas, my toilets backed up because the ejector pump stopped working. Neither I nor the warranty company could get in touch with J and B. I had guests coming and had to cancel the event at my home. They were not able to service me for 5 days after that. Another time, they weren't able to get to me and they told me to contact another plumber on my own, but that's what I pay the warranty company for!
Description of Work: I've used them over the past year as they were part of my home warranty company.

The only reason I used this company is because my home warranty (American Home Sheild) said I had to. Run far far away. Made appointments and did not show up (twice this happened). Would not return phone calls. It took 3 separate visits to find the problem and "fix it". Finally he decided I needed a entire new hot water heater. This was not installed properly and was leaking the next day. Another tech came out and properly sealed the connections and I had no problems after that. I only had to pay the service charge otherwise I would not have let them anywear near.
Description of Work: Leaking hot water heater. New hot water heater installed.
