Description of Work: I wasn't all that impressed with the performance of the technicians sent by Hutchins. Door rollers and tunes was completed. However, the technicians had a hard time trying to figure out how to reset the access code to my Genie door opener. Actually, they never did figure it out. Instead, they sold me a universal remote keybpad and reset the code with the new keypad. The cost of either was the same, $45. I, personally, think $45 just reset an access code is expensive. I think was bother me the most is that, without my permission, they stuck an adhesive backed sticker on one of my garage walls. I would preferred that stick placed on the garage door instead. As I removed the sticker from my wall, it removed some of the paint with it. Wasn't too pleased about that. Hutchins needs to start placing the reminder sticker on the door itself or ask the homeowner where he/she wants it.

Dear Customer. Sorry about the new keypad. I do not know if the old one was broken or we could not figure it out. Either way we want to reimburse you for the cost. I will say that Ross and Trinidad were new technicians for us and are no longer working with us. The sticker is sort of habit, we should ask first. On the positive side, placing it near the wall button lets you know who was there and what we did. Most customers are comfortable, but we should ask. I am Sorry. PS. I show we did this job in August of Last year. We will send the check to this address unless you call us and tell us different. Again Sorry, Don Grenier

Description of Work: I called Hutchins Garage Doors on the morning of Thursday, 2/7/2013 for the installation of an electric garage door opener. An appointment was set for Monday, 2/11/13 at 10:00 AM. I was advised that I would be called prior to the tech's arrival at approximately 9:00 AM. I made arrangements to be home for the installation. I was not contacted nor did anyone ever arrive to install the garage door opener. I finally received a telephone call from a Hutchin's tech at 2:20 pm. The caller advised that he had no idea an appointment with a specific time was set and apologized. I canceled the appointment and called Home Depot who quoted the same job for a lower price.

Description of Work: We had originally applied for the special, knowing that we would need more work, since our garage door wouldn't open. Cedar Park Overhead Doors came to do the work. They were great! They were very professional, replaced the rollers, and determined what was wrong with our garage door system. Even though our system was very old, they had the part on their truck, and they were able to get the garage door working again. We would definitely use them again.

I did not have a problem but thought it would be a good time to see that there is no trouble about to happen! I've lived in my house 8 years with no service needed. I called Hutchins on Wed saying my garage door was off the track and that I wasn't sure whether I needed a repair or a replacement. They gave me an appoinment for Friday between 12pm -2pm. The technician, Karl Swenson, arrived at 1:15pm and got right to work. After repairing the door, he checked the operation and adjusted the autoreverse mechanism. He even fixed the garage door button that had been loose for sometime. I asked several general questions about the door and prices for new doors and Mr. Swenson readily answered them.
Description of Work: One of the hinges on the garage door had popped off causing the door to come off the track on one side and bend both the door and track slightly. The technician replaced and reinforced the hinge, put the door and cable back on the track and straightened everything so they worked properly. He also remounted the garage door button that had some loose from the sheetrock by the back door.

When I called them for the estimate, it took a while for them to respond. They finally came and did the estimate and he was very nice and professional. Then I never heard anything else from them and I called them twice to see about the quote. He tells me he lost all of my information and I had to read him everything again on the phone. I feel like every time I called them it was the same conversation each time. Their communication is very poor. I called them again though, because the price they offered was lower than anyone else I called.

Pro's from start to finish. They came when promised, provided excellent assessment of problem and options available to me to repair the door. I ordered a full replacement. The tech made sure the color matched and the door was compatible with my homeowners association requirements. The installation process was quick and the workmanship excellent. These guys understand CUSTOMER Service! (another company could learn something from these guys!)

Our garage doors weren't closing properly in cold weather, and apparently, there was a problem with the manufacturer, so Hutchins helped us get them replaced so that we only needed to pay for the service call. We've had no problems since.
