We did not hire Home Depot, after paying our $99 fee for someone to come out and measure, take pictures, and do a bid; this was necessary before the Design Consultant will work with you. The $99 fee is fair, and you get that back on the project, if you use them. However, since the company they wanted to use for remodelling is a Flooring Company (Floor Pro Network, or FPN), we decided not to use Home Depot for our cabinets, flooring, tear out, etc. We did not recei ve the bid for our hall bath project (tear out, flooring, painting, cabinets from Waypoint, retexturing, etc). Regardless, due to not receiving a bid on our "due date", that gave me second thoughts, and so we decided to go back to a remodeler we have used before. Also, I found the same Cabinets , and they were less than Home Depot pricing. (same brand, very similar cabinet style ) Other Reasons: I was very upset that the countertop (silestone could not be ordered until 4 WEEKS after the cabinets are delivered. I felt this was not necessary. We knew what countertop we wanted, and ready to pay and order it. I was afraid we'd have the bathroom finished (or almost); and no sink for 4-5 weeks! That means plumbing isn't finished, and possibly some finishing work. I read unfavorable reviews about FPN on another review site. If they cannot get a floor in, I did not want to hire them to remodel a bath. I could not find reviews on how "good" they were in remodeling (at all), a major concern. We expect this to be a $6500 project.

I bought Laminate floating floor for my livingroom and hallway. I went to Home Depot so they could guide me in what type of flooring would work in my house. They suggested a floating floor and they came out to install the floor. When spring came around and we turned off the heater, we opened our windows and put our attic house fan on to draw in air. We do not turn on our A/C until the weather here gets hot and in the 90\'s. That was in April. About a week later I noticed that many of the wall and doorway floor trims were coming loose. Then by May the floors started to buckle. When I called the store they sent out a gentleman to inspect the work. He told me that Home Depot would send out an installation team to pull trim off and make sure that it was installed correctly. He said that Home Depot stands behind their products and their work; and not to worry that they would make this right A week later I called the store to find out when they were coming out to inspect the installation. I was told that it was our fault for not turning on our A/C and keeping the floor in a \'controlled environment\'. They refused to send anyone out to check the installation . At NO TIME was I told that you could NOT open windows, OR that it needed to have a controlled environment. It was NOT in any of the paperwork. If I had known that I would have installed a floor that I COULD open windows. I have complained to a Corporate Rep who took his time in getting back with me. Again I was told it was our fault and it was COMMON SENSE to keep the floor in a controlled environment. I complained further going past the last gentleman and going to his supervisor. I told him that I would like the balance of the charges on my card ($1500.00) waived so that I could afford to purchase a different floor that WOULD be compatible with our environment After ANOTHER week and 1/2 they called today and said that they would give us 10% off a new floor. I could get a better deal if I waited for it to go on sale! I am at the end of my rope. My Husband is disabled and I am going to retire in 3 years. We waited 30 years to replace our old linoleum floor. I cannot vacuum the floor it is so bad. Planking is coming dislodged and we are going to have to rip it up before someone trips over it and falls. They are not going to resolve this issue. We are stuck with a floor that is falling apart.

Took a long time to get the new window installation scheduled. The installer didn't get it inspected to close out the permit, and left it up to me. Home Depot got into a p****** match with the property manager about scheduling a city inspector to close out the permit, and I ended up having to pay the CIty of Austin for showing up when no one was there. Home Depot told the property manager she would have to stay there all day because the City would not give a time. That was incorrect. When I spoke to the CIty, they told me to call the inspector in the morning and he'll give a time. Another odd thing. After the window was installed, we couldn't get back into the house. The blind dead bolts were locked from the inside. Had to bust the door and buy a new door. I don't know if this was the Home Depot guy, but I'll never use them again.

They nickle and dimed me the whole way. They left all the hardwood outside and wanted to charge me $2 a box to bring it inside. They charged me extra for things that I think shouldn't have been charged. They were rude and unaccomodating. They really messed up on everything! Way over priced. They even used the wrong wood.

After having done extensive research on appliances, I have determined that Home Depot charges too much money. Appliances can easily be purchased on-line these days and many online merchants offer free delivery and their product costs can be significantly less than Home Depot. It's great to go to Home Depot to check out the appliance and see it first hand, but I wouldn't purchase the appliance there.
Description of Work: I am having to completely refurnish a new kitchen with appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, trash compactor) and considered Home Depot as the merchant.

We spent about $2,000 for wall to wall carpeting. They sub-contracted the installation and whoever came in, did the job and were very professional. I also had portion of the upstairs re-stretched a year ago. As long as they were not in a time constraint or a rush, I had no problem with the job. We have a 2 storey house and also had the steps carpeted and there was a bubbling on the steps, so they did pull it out and re-did it. In fact they saw that it wasn’t done right and they reinstalled it. I did very well at the time and bought a very high grade carpet that has significantly gone up in price. The carpet costs $3,000 or $4,000 more than what I paid at that time. I was very satisfied with the service that I got from them on that particular job. The installers themselves did a good job, but Home Depot themselves I had to go back and forth with. They came when they said they would.
Description of Work: We used Home Depot 2 or 3 years ago for carpet installation and had it done in 2 stages for the upstairs and downstairs area.

I've gone to Home Depot for many items. The employees there weren't as friendly other places I've been to, but they were polite enough. I needed help finding an appliance, and it took them a while to ask me if I needed help. But once they helped me, it went very well. I'm sure I'll go back to them in the future.

It was cheap, but it took a really long time from the beginning to end of this process (about 2.5 months)! Home Depot wasn't very clear on the steps of the process. After I told them what carpet I wanted, they wrote down my order, but I didn't hear from them. About 2 weeks went by, and I called to follow-up. Turns out you have to pay at Home Depot before they order the carpet (makes sense, but they didn't ask for payment when I initially ordered). Then it took a few weeks for the warehouse to get the carpet. When the installation service received the carpet, they were so booked, that I had to wait another 2 weeks before they could install. I'm very pleased with the overall look of the carpet.
Description of Work: I bought carpet at Home Depot for 3 rooms in my house. Home Depot sub-contracts to a third party for installation services. That company came by and measured the rooms first and then I picked out the carpet for the rooms at Home Depot. You order and pay through Home Depot and then a 3rd party installs it.

I really enjoy my new bisque colored side-by-side refrigerator. The delivery people were very friendly. I appreciated that they were willing to hook up the water line to the ice-maker for me. Some places don't offer that service. The price included the fridge and delivery charge, which I will be receiving a rebate for the delivery charge.

They did an okay job on the opener. They did what they were supposing and the door opener had worked fine. My only complaint was they just tacked the wiring to the ceiling and I felt they should have run it through the ceiling so I redid it myself.

The subs they sent out were polite and very good at this type of work. They knew the easiest way to get the door in. When they got done, the new door turned out perfect. It slid perfectly on the track, and we loved the new look. The workered very hard at it until they got done, and did nothing to disturb or disrupt us.
