The doors were defective and it took them months to correct the problem. Because of the doors, our carpet could not be installed incorrectly, not stretched properly and is wrinkling up. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. They do not follow up on their jobs. The price was pretty average. The installers were professional, but the store's customer service is absolutely terrible.

Description of Work: I special ordered flooring from the Home Depot. The employees in the store were very helpful and efficient in processing my order. The problem isn't with the particular store but the Home Depot chain in general. After purchasing my order I received a receipt via email with a note attached to my purchase talking about limited stock. When I searched for the product online, it was 40% cheaper than at the special order desk. I immediately called the flooring specialist and she was wonderful about checking to make sure the product I was was the same that I had ordered. Since my order hadn't been processed yet, she refunded my money and I was able to buy the product with free delivery through their online website. I gave them a C since there is a serious disconnect between the stores and the website. The example is the delivery and pricing. Ordering online got me free delivery and a price 40% cheaper. Ordering in store got me a delivery fee, a carry in fee, and a second person fee plus the product was more expensive. It is all Home Depot. This should not happen. The other issue I had was delivery of my remaining items. I had molding and vapor barrier. The store told me the day of delivery but no time frame. By the time I got the call that my product was being delivered it was too late. I could not physically get to the house in time. I ended up going to the store and picking up the delivery myself. I could have just bought all of those items in the store and saved myself the hassle. | |The employees were great about refunding the money and helping me find a solution but I think there should be more training to give customers all the options. | |I haven't had the product installed yet and will review that separately after the installation is complete.

Home Deport unilaterally changed delivery date to be later than expected. Dryer did not function upon arrival. Delivery team suggested the outlet/branch circuit in the home was faulty. We paid an electrician to assess the situation. It turns out the dryer would not carry a voltage, ie, the dryer was faulty. You would think that if Home Deport delivered a faulty product late, they would proactively demonstrate interest in resolving the situation... But wait.... there's more! First call to Home Depot: Home Depot suggested we call the manufacturer, Maytag, because it was a warranty issue. We spent 90 minutes reaching Maytag; they indicated they would repair it but not replace it. We did not want a refurbished product. Second call to Home Depot: A man named Mike working in appliances indicated that he was unable to get "the system" to schedule a pickup to return the product, but that he would resolve it next morning. Mike further indicated that if we did not hear back from him, that we should assume the return and pick up is scheduled. Third call to Home Depot: We called in the afternoon to ensure Mike was able to schedule the return and pickup. Mike was not available. We were transferred to an "expediter" named Joanne, who indicated that the return had not been scheduled by Mike, despite his previous assurances that it would be resolved in the morning. Joanne indicated she would resolve the issue and call back with a scheduled pickup date. Fourth call to Home Depot: Mike is unavailable but we are told he will call us back momentarily. After 90 minutes of waiting for Mike to call us back, I take time off of work to physically go to the store. I find out that Mike is on break and unavailable. It takes an additional 45 minutes to actually schedule the refund and pickup, which will take 2 weeks. Neither Mike nor Joanne were involved. In summary, the dryer was delivered late, it did not work, we had to pay to have the product tested, we took 5 hours of our personal/work time to schedule a return, it took 4 staff from Home Depot to complete the return, one of which was deceitful, and the pickup and refund will take 2 weeks. I wish I was making this up.

They had very good collection and had what I needed. They did a good job. They had options for paying for moving furniture. I paid them only for one room and they helped me with small furniture in other rooms as well. They moved it without charging me. They were very helpful. They first gave me an estimate when I asked. They then rearranged how to place the carpet and got the price lowered. It was still a little bit higher than what I wanted, but it was still reasonable.
Description of Work: I used Home Depot in June to buy carpets. They installed carpet upstairs and stairs.

They didn't gather the correct information, so when they called back to give me the price they wanted to glue the wood down, but they tried to tell me I had a cement floor and then they said they couldn't do it for me. I watched my house be built, so I know that's there. We decided that they couldn't help, so they didn't do the work. They also took inaccurate measurements. I had already ordered the wood, so eventually Home Depot did take all the wood back.
Description of Work: They sent someone (Measure Comp) out to measure to install hardwood floors.

It was easy; the Home Depot team was able to provide us with a really quick estimate and it turned out they were having a sale, which made us happy to save $150 more than we would have. The purchase was painless and they explained the process for installation (manufacturing and delivering the door took a few weeks). They subcontracted the door installation to another company but the guys were great and did a really good job. Home Depot also called us several times (once before, once after) to check on how satisfied we were with the door and the installation. Overall, a great experience. As a side note, this store location is our favorite Home Depot; we go there even though another one is a bit closer to our house.
Description of Work: We had an old (broken) garage door taken down and away and a new, insulated door installed that was eligible for a Federal Tax Credit.

Selection of 4x4 pressure treated post made without difficulty, Reasonable selection of straight, relatively defect free material. Asked lumber section sales folks to cut them in half and they happily complied. Felt duty bound to make a safety related suggestion on how they operated their cross-cut saw that might help him prevent a future personal injury. Availability of 2x4 pressure treated rails was poorer, had to inspect 50 boards before I found 10 that were straight, uncupped, and didn't large through-and-through knots. Other materials were easily found and checkout was uneventful. Strongly recommend you finalize your building plan and materials list before you go shopping otherwise you'll be staring at stuff a long time and will likely require multiple trips. While in the store I was approached 2 or 3 times and asked if I needed assistance; had I needed help I could have gotten it.
