I paid them $12,860.10 (50% deposit) December 3, 2012 by wire. They required this deposit, before coming to the site to template or discuss the project. They had drawings and photos to help them come up with the contract. Then came onsite on December We, in my opinion, hit a wall as to what was promised and what he was ultimately intending to do and I've requested they simply return the deposit (less some fee for cad drawings he did) and I will move on. He ignores and then refuses. His contract refers to a cancellation policy on their website that you can read. It gives you 3 days to get back 50% of contract price (the deposit amount was 50% of the contract price). But, he wasn't here onsite to template and discuss until more than 3 days after deposit was made, making it impossible to recover deposit if you were unhappy with planned tops after site visit. So, about one month after his visit, he told me he couldn't make top as planned. It would have to have a seam, be shorter than length of top or I'd have to move a tall cabinet with ovens in it out of the way for him. Or, I could pay even more money, and he would weld onsite to see no seam. None of those things were acceptable to me and I told him to return the deposit, he has refused as I said. We had our attorney contact him and he still refused.
