Hammond Fireplace & Chimney

It was pretty easy to schedule. There seems to be lots of demand for this guy. He was prompt, professional and courteous. The cost was reasonable and I would hire again.

They refused to install third-party gas logs. Claimed a liability problem.

It didn't. They would not even accept new clients and stated they were booked solid into April!!!

After an inspection, Mr. Hammond suggested a satisfactory solution to the rodent problem and carried it out successfully, with photos documenting all the repairs. I am fully satisfies with the work and recommend him.

Rob is fantastic. He is very professional and willing to help out where needed. He did a great job of explaining fireplace operations to myself who knows nothing about it. He even cleaned up some broken glass outside near our fireplace.

Called Mr. Hammond and he was able to come out the next day. On inspection all looked good and it definitely needed cleaning. He explained that the wind could have been a big factor in the smoke backing up into to the house. He was very professional and detailed. I would definitely recommend his company.

Rob responded immediately to the Angie's list request. We made an appointment and he showed up on time. He immediately went to work and explained what he was doing when I asked him. He was very careful to put on slippers to replace his boots. He also laid a tarp to keep the dust from dirtying the fireplace hearth. He quickly assessed the ignition problem and fixed it. ($150) He then moved to rapidly clean the dryer vent ($140). He was professional throughout. I will hire him again.

I needed an expert to check out my fireplace issue- soot, air flow, rusty gas pipes. After checking all out (chimney was fine, no sweep needed) he determined a new gas log system was needed- rusty pipes were too gone and the prior installation was backwards! I picked a new set and installed it a few weeks later. Mr Hammond provided expert service, was honestly professional, and super clean. He arrives in a van with the name on the side and uniform-very safe and legit. Conversation was easy as his personality. I have him on my list for other work and already made a referral to another homeowner. (Austin, Texas)

We had a great experience with Rob Hammond! He was professional and his prices were fair. We recently purchased a new home, and through our inspection were told we would need many repairs to our chimney. Rob came out and cleaned the chimney for us, and also assessed/inspected what repairs we truly needed (which thankfully were far fewer than what had been suggested by the inspector). I would recommend Hammond Fireplace & Chimney - and we'll be using them again when we move forward with our repairs!

Rob was punctual, responsive and really up front about all the issues and work needed with the chimney. He went out of his way to make us comfortable with the work being done and we feel sure that the quality of his work was high. Would absolutely use Hammond Fireplace again in the future.

Our inspection and cleaning went great! The service was promptly scheduled, completed well and our house was left spotless when the work was complete. We'll definitely be using Hammond for our annual cleaning.

Mr. Hammond was wonderful to work with! He was punctual and showed up at my door wearing a chimney sweep hat. He was also very nice, kind and courteous! I appreciated the way he responded to all of my questions. He explained in a clear and concise manner plus provided some cost saving tips to assist me going forward. I was very pleased with the job that he performed and have already passed on his information to some of my friends!

Outstanding person and did an outstanding job. You can not get a better person that takes care of the things you want done and LISTENS TO WHAT YOU WANT! Cost was not as much as others I called and his attitude for listening to what you want was outstanding. If you want someone that not only do the job but will do it the way that will make you happy here is the man that can do it, chimney and Franklin stove!

Liner install was completed in less than one day. New stainless liner needed to be ordered. Once it came in, Rob had it installed to code in one day.

The young man, Brian Wolfe was a very knowledgeable and professional resource. I finally have a working gas fireplace, know why it quits sometimes, and know what to do in the future. Great experience.

Unfortunately, the deal didn't work out because they said that they didn't service hood vents and that they believe that snow and ice on the roof were causing the blockage. The provider only services fire places, chimney's, and water heaters. They were on time and helpful. I would use them in the future.

The chimney didn't need to be cleaned after all, so they gave me a partial refund on the service I'd requested -- he still did a complete inspection, including a trip to the roof. Very pleasant provider, thoughtful, made a point of not soiling anything as the chimney was probed.

He did all the points of the inspection, but basically told us "sorry but we can't help you". We have a north side chimney that sticks out of our house. He said even if we would totally air tight seal the chimney the empty space around the curvature of the tube (?) would still be drafty. We asked about updating the doors and he said it probably wouldn't help. Overall, not too helpful! It was just a bummer because we had a guy from Hammond come out before this guy and he seemed like he could have figured it out.

Everything went great, first-rate. Very helpful and on topic. One of the good ones.
