Description of Work: We asked Karl Hanson to tear down an L-shaped wall dividing our kitchen from our living room, provide extra structural support in the attic as needed, fix the drywall, change and re-wire several lighting fixtures in both rooms, and repaint the kitchen and living areas, ceilings and adjacent hallways and trim and the living room fireplace. | |Karl was both prompt and very communicative from my very first contact with him through the bidding process, all the way to completion of the project. Karl uses his own team of specialists (not subcontractors), and they work so well together--all aspects of the job were done both quickly and professionally, with meticulous attention to detail. | |There were a few surprises along the way, as is often the case with remodeling projects. Karl was great about communicating these to me, and was open to different solutions and very up-front about costs. He made sure to ask when there was any judgment call to be made. We were not charged for the cost of correcting any errors on the part of H & H, which were minimal. | |The whole job took two weeks from start to finish, and the guys were thoughtful about clean-up and leaving the worksite in a livable condition for us and our children. | |I was very impressed with H & H Design and Build and I do recommend them to my friends and family. (Note: There is another H & H in town--H & H Construction. They have great reviews on Angie's List as of now, and I had a bid from them, too. I have nothing unfavorable to say about them.)

Description of Work: I did not end up choosing John. He has a great passion for his work and would have been great to work with. His price was dramatically higher than 2 other bids that I received for the remodel.

Description of Work: I used H & H Design & Build Inc to remodel my bathroom.

Description of Work: Replacement of two sliding glass doors and windows with "swing" doors. Total landscape of backyard, including limestone and crushed granite hardscaping. Paint exterior of house and re-screen a patio. Trim trees, build fence. Install roofing over a front-door foyer (Closed the architectural hole over the front entrace).

Description of Work: A guest bathroom was completely gutted and redone. Tile was installed on the floor. What had been a tub/shower area was converted to a walk-in shower with bench and niches for soap and shampoo supplies. Cabinets and countertop were installed along with all the faucets and showerhead. New commode was also installed. Ceiling had the popcorn removed and was painted. Walls were also painted and baseboards installed and painted. Mirrors hung, towel bars and tissue holder installed. New light fixtures were hung. I purchased all the tile, fixtures, cabinets, countertops, etc myself so that is not included in the amount paid to Karl. That part of the tab was about $4500.

Description of Work: Karl and crew replaced a hail-damaged roof at a better price, with good quality. He was very quick to repsond to my initial contact and provided an estimate within 2-3 days. He gave me advance notice that the materials were to be delivered and kept me updated as to his crew's progress and scheduling. His refuse trailed had to be placed in my lawn due to the configuration of the roof, and he sent someone by to repair the ruts that were left. This damage was beyond his control and he took care of it anyway. I highly recommed H&H for roofing and any of the other work they do..

Description of Work: They demolished our outdated bathroom, hauled away the rubble, installed a new bathtub, and tiled the bathtub walls and floor. They also installed the new plumbing at the vanity.

Description of Work: We had Karl Hanson's team come in to perform demo of our small guest bathroom. This included removing baseboards, tile from the floor, tub surround, and patching a 1'x1' hole in a wall. They also put down new hardiboard on the floor and in the tub surround, set in flush, totally prepared for new tile. Additionally, they removed the faux marble countertop and created a plywood countertop with hardiboard on top, ready for a tile countertop and drop in sink installation. We are having another vendor (a friend) do the actual tiling. Karl sent over two men and the work was done in 1.5 days.

Description of Work: We used this company for all the remodeling in our kitchen and bathroom. They replaced all fixtures, walls, floors and cabinets, painting and construction.
