Guardian Roofing And Exteriors

I entered a contract with Guardian Roofing And Exteriors (based out of Austin, but also serving San Antonio) on 05/25/16 to have my roof replaced due to hail damage. The contract stated that Guardian would accept the payment the insurance company had already quoted. From the beginning there was nothing but problems (ordering mistakes and lack of communication). I was informed in writing that I would be given 24-72 hours notice before any work started. On 6/29/16 a supplier showed up with no prior notice to deliver materials. Nobody was home because I was not notified, and since the property is gated the delivery was not made. Guardian tried to blame me for the problem despite their local salesman telling me that he had forgotten to notify me. Then I was told it would be October before they could do the job. I tried several times to get a date or at least a window with no success. In the mean time, I was told by two different local employees that Guardian was not happy with the amount that the insurance had quoted. I informed them several times that they could submit their own quote to the insurance company, but they never did. They actually never even inspected the roof. BTW, that was another problem because there was an issue of them not even knowing what type of vents to order because they never looked to see what I had. They could not even explain how that missed delivery could have even had all of the materials when at that point they didn't even know what to order yet (other than the shingles). The insurance quote just listed "vents" but did not indicate the type or size. Then on 08/23/16 out of the blue, Guardian sent my wife a text stating that they would not do the job. when I inquired as to why they were breeching the contract, they tried to say I had breeched the contract when I denied the delivery of materials nearly two months earlier. That makes no sense because they had already admitted that they forgot to notify me. and even if that somehow was a breech, why did they continue to promise to do the work in October and string me along for another two months? To me, it seems that the real reason is they just felt they were not going to get enough money even though they had signed a contract stating they would accept the quoted payment. So now I have wasted three months of my time with a damaged roof and have to start all over. I chose Guardian because they touted themselves as being an honest and reputable company. But in reality it looks like profit was more important than fulfilling a contract. It should be noted that I have complete documentation of all of this including all of the e-mail correspondence. So this is not just a case of an unfounded complaint.
