The technician was excellent. Job went smoothly. Here is my problem with this company. There is a fee they charge to come out to your house. If you hire them, that fee is suppose to count towards the total bill, or be waived. This company added the fee to my bill in addition to what it cost to replace the blower. No one else that I know of does this. I was also going to give them another big job, installing floor vents in my house. The tech stated he would get a bid from the owner. The tech came out the next day and when I asked about the bid, all he could say was he told the owner, but never got a bid from him. Guess he didn't want to make more money on another job. I find it very unprofessional of the owner of a company to ignore my request for a bid. I will never use them again based on what I just said...

We contacted Green Air Conditioning based on reviews from Angie’s List mainly to use them to compare against some other estimates we were receiving to replace our 2 AC/heat pump units that were beginning to leak and reaching the end of their predicted life. Frankly, when we chose to call, they weren’t necessarily a front runner, but we wanted another small, independent firm to weigh against the larger companies that we were also talking to. Seamus came out to look at the situation the day after I called to set up the appointment, he gave me a call to let me know he was on his way, and arrived promptly when he said he would. I found him friendly, knowledgeable, conservative in approach to designing climate control systems that would nicely marry cost, efficiency, and performance. Unlike other sales people who came in, noted our square footage and quickly and rigidly consulted their books to select which units to recommend, Seamus used his knowledge of how heat pumps work, looked at the real world situation of our home, and came up with a different plan than any of the other installers, and yet still came in a more than competitive price. Over the next couple of days as questions came up I also had the opportunity to talk with Tom in the office, who was pro as well, more than willing to answer every question, and in our case, proactively keeping an eye out for manufacturer rebates that came available between the time that we contracted the work and the actual install, saving us further money than we’d originally planned on. Our initial expectation was for a 2 day install, with a single crew installing one system per day, but it worked out that they were able to send two crews out to work both systems in one day. Seamus and his team arrived promptly at the scheduled time, introductions were made, the crew was briefed, and Seamus made sure his people knew what the job required, and that our questions were answered, and then he left his foreman in charge. As I watched, I found the entire crew to be extremely friendly, personable, knowledgeable, extremely conscious of protecting my walls, floors, and furnishing, always aware that even though for them it was just another day at work, they were ultimately guests in my home and this was a major undertaking for us. After they removed the old downstairs unit from its closet, they took the initiative to rebuild the decking upon which the new unit would be placed, chuckling to themselves at the shortcuts the original installers had taken, and remarking to themselves (without prompting or even being aware that I was in earshot) that they “do better work than that…” They left the areas they were working in cleaner than they found them. So far, Seamus’s predictions of the performance of the systems and the energy bill savings have been correct. I could not have had a more pleasant experience with Green, and unequivocally recommend them.

Although Green Air did not do the initial installation (I moved into a new townhouse), he found and corrected some bad faults and workman ship issues. Sheamus, the owner, did much of the work himself. One very long hot Texas summer day; did great work, and called me two weeks later to see if everything was ok. Great attitude. Even honored some warranty on parts he did not instal or deal with.

We had old, suboptimally designed and leaky HVAC ducts and insufficient attic insulation. Air flow was unbalanced, leading to fairly large temperature variations between rooms. Very punctual to all appointments, took the time to explain everything in detail and give options, very professional owner and crew. The office called before every appointment to confirm and when they were on their way and was always available to answer any questions. The installation crew was punctual, courteous and clearly know what they are doing. Made every attempt to stay out of the way, keep the mess to a minimum and always cleaned up at the end of every day. The initial estimate was that it would be a 4-5 day job, it ended up taking 6 days plus one of the crew members coming back on a Saturday to finish the last pieces. At no point were we left without both systems functioning overnight. The crew made sure everything was done properly and they effectively adapted to circumstances that dictated what was possible and not possible given the design of the attic and was able to accommodate our preferences in terms of where things were installed/located. They took care of existing bathroom fans that were not properly vented/sealed and created a new access door to the attic to facilitate the work - items not explicitly included in the quote, but they just did it at no extra charge. Green A/C and Heating sets the standard by which all other contractors should be measured. No shortcuts, no BS, no surprises, no additional charges because they run into something unexpected - they just get the job done and to a high standard. All while being competitively priced. I know exactly who I am calling when I need to replace my A/C units in a couple of years' time. Highly recommended.

He was very good, nice and thorough. I also asked him to give me an estimate for future replacement of those units because they are getting close to their life expectancy. He gave me a price discount to check both furnaces.

That went very well. They did a good job and were very diligent. They came when they said they would. They made the process straight forward and without complications.

It was a great experience beginning to end. He showed up within a few hours of the initial call, had all the information on an iPad when the time came to discuss new units and his guys put the unit in no time with a house full of guests and Christmas chaos.

Got a bid from Shamus at Green A/C plus two bids from other contractors. While not the least expensive, the ratings of Green A/C on other sites and the quality and reputation of the units they were offering (American Standard) sealed our decision to go with Green. We were extremely pleased with the work that was done (replacement of 2 A/C and heating units, sealing all the ducts, re-ducting to two rooms and adding significant insulation to our attic). They came exactly when they said they would, went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent install process and left us as very satisfied customers. This was done in February, 2012. This last summer, our cooling expenses were about half of what they had been the previous year. And, Shamus (the owner) took care of all the paperwork to get our rebates from city and arranged for all necessary inspections to complete the process. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They are competent, on time and extremely professional. They have all of my heating and air business from now on.

I recently moved to Austin and this home, and Green Air Conditioning was recommended to me by an acquaintance. I was extremely happy with the service that I received. This was the most thorough preventive maintenance and repair service that I have ever received anywhere. Leaks were found in the duct system as well as loose seals. These were repaired and much time was spent in cleaning the very dirty outside air conditioner. For the time spent and thoroughness of service the price was very reasonable. The owner of this business has very high standards.

Seamus was punctual and communicated our various options clearly. His quote was reasonable but became more compelling when factoring the Austin Energy rebates for replacing our old units which more efficient ones and performing and quot;best practicesand quot;. His initial estimate for the amount of rebates available was high by ~$150 because of one of my units didn't quite fit the guidelinse, but Seamus made up the difference by giving us a discount. His crew arrived on-time, was polite, did good work and cleaned up well. Seamus even personally hauled away a stove top for us that we had replaced during renovations. We really enjoyed working with Green A/C and like their work!

I moved into this house at the end of June, 2011. My inspection turned up one thing -- the primary drain appeared to be clogged. This is a 12 year old heat pump. I scheduled with Seamus to come out and do a full inspection of the heat pump and flush out the clogged line. But the day I scheduled the appointment I came home to a hot house and the AC not working. At about 5pm I called Seamus who was just finishing a job, and he came out to my house at 7:30 that night. He detected and replaced the faulty capacitor, flushed the line, and did a full inspection. I was SO grateful! I do have a home warranty on this house, and when this AC needs to be replaced, I will likely be forced to go through them, but for diagnostics and anything less than full replacement, Green Air will get my business!

Our a/c stopped turning on on Friday night. Early Saturday morning I called first: Dash - got their answering service and left a message. Second: Christian Brothers. They said it would be a $69 service call charge and someone could be out to our house in the afternoon. We had places to be and things to do and didn't want to stew in our house in the meantime, enter Green A/C. I called them and they said someone could come out around noon but that the service charge was usually $65 but would be double since it was a Saturday call. It was worth the double charge for us to have someone come out early so I ordered service - lo and behold, their tech was out thirty minutes later (10am). He checked several things and reported back that it was just a clogged drain line and he would have us up and running in no time. Sure enough, ten minutes later our a/c kicked on. Hoorah! Cost $80 for the cleaning plus the service charge. This was so easy! They were out fast, fixed it fast, not horribly expensive, no run around, very straightforward. He also told us that our air filter needed changing and gave us the exact size to buy from home depot. Aaaaand they use nifty iphones and ipads to email your receipt to you - no paper! In short, I was very happy with their service and would most definitely use them again.
