Matt came and measured one day. They made the base/foundation (whatever you call it) for the counter top at their shop. They brought that and installed it a few days later (been long enough that I don't remember). That day they installed that and put a few coats on. I'm not really sure what those coats are, but I think they are the first few coats of concrete. They let it dry over night. They came back the next day and did a few more coats. They finished the following day. I was surprised at how many man hours went into the process. It turned out great.
Description of Work: We remodeled our kitchen. We were going to use the traditional granite. Then we stumbled across Granicrete. It is some kind of concrete compound. Not sure I understand it completely. But, it has been really great. The primary reason we decided to use it was because it was basically the same price as low end granite but we could get the look of a more expensive granite for the same price. Not sure what we would have paid for a granite that looks like this but I'm guessing close to double. We also like that we don't have to worry about maintenance like we would with granite. It's held up really well and still looks like new. There was one little scratch where it got used as a cutting board but it was really more like a smudge as I just rubbed it out. I can't even see where it was now. We also had them do our back splash.
