Good Guys Tree Service

I would absolutely hire Good Guys Tree Service again. It was a great experience from first contact to the end. Great customer service. We were very happy with the estimate and they took the time to explain our trees and what to expect in the future with them. The turn around time on the job was quick and they did a great job.

Did a good job trimming and removing a tree. Did exaggerate oak wilt fear to treat our trees.

My biggest concern was a tree on the corner of my property. It grew pretty straight up and was pretty tall. To make matters worse there was a city electrical transformer box within a foot of it (underground wires, though.) I couldn't dream of taking it down myself. They dropped it right where they should have. Then topped off trees that were needing it and too tall for me to handle. Hauled it all off and had a chipper. I was amazed at how fast they were.

They did great. Rather than hiring random tree-trimming crew, I really wanted a certified and licensed arborist for this job. We have a lot of American Elm trees along our back fence line that were overshadowing our pecan and fig trees. There was also an large near-end-of-line Bradford Pear hanging over the fence from the neighbor. I needed the pear trimmed without being responsible for killing it, and the elm's trimmed to let light into the yard but still screen the road behind the fence. I also wanted our front Live Oak trees trimmed away from the house roof. Casey is one of their certified arborists. He came out not only for the initial quote, but also the day of service to give the trimming crew very specific instructions. His initial quote was a lot higher than I expected, but then he matched the quote of a competitor that turned out to not be a certified arborist (even though they advertise they are certified). There was a scheduling mixup, but they admitted fault and rescheduled the very next day when they arrived on time. It took a crew of about 8 men about 90 minutes to complete the job.

Exceeded my expectations. Good Guys (a whole crew) showed up on time and did exactly what I needed: carefully pruned a large, beautiful oak away from the roof, removed the "beard" from a very tall palm tree (had to climb the tree!) , removed a tree and pruned a live oak branch by branch just as I requested. And they cleaned up nicely, Price was very reasonable, too.

It went very well, rapid response, completed in short time with thorough cleanup. I have used them before and my son-in-law has used them also. I will call on them again when I need tree work

Failed--came out to quote, accepted quote. Never scheduled the service. Attempted texts and emails to Sales rep--no reply or acknowledgement. Called their office to see what was going on, no real apology, gave me a e how Sales was "busy". Scheduled me for an appointment to come out but never showed. Stray away, these guys are flakes.

They were very responsive. They gave me an estimate agreed on scope of work. They came when they said they would come and did what they said they would do. Reasonably priced.

I needed 3 overhanging trees to be cut.

After we agreed on a price and date of service, their price was very competitive, I received a call the day before the work was to be done with the time of arrival and their contact name Alejandro. The crew was on time and consisted of a team of four. I reviewed the job with Alejandro, three team members spoke very good English. They began trimming and raising the umbrellas on the trees. Alejandro spoke with me multiple times to update me on what was going on and to answer any questions I may have had. These were large trees and I watched them work from the ground and up in the trees. Alejandro and his team worked all morning cutting and cleaning up. They did an excellent job. My neighbor commented that they did a beautiful job. I would recommend them to anyone needing small or large tree service. My neighbor commented that they did a beautiful job.

We were so impressed with their level of expertise and efficiency. They were able to create the look we wanted, better than we had even hoped for. Great crew!!!!

The actual tree work well fairly well. The team was fast, maybe too fast, as there were limbs that were cut that weren't sealed. They cut as requested and cleaned up very well. That was the good part! Their administrative / back office needs serious work. The estimator came out and gave me an estimate. I was comfortable with his assessment for the work. I was told I would get a call in several days to schedule the work and address payment. Two days later I got a call to schedule the crew to come the next morning. They arrived the next morning and did the tree work. They didn't seem to have good documentation on what to do so we had to go over everything. Afterwards I asked the crew leader to confirm how much I owed. He didn't know. He said I could pay via credit card or check. So I gave him a check. The team left. The next day I called the office to confirm I had paid correctly and I was told, almost in a chastising manner, that I wasn't supposed to give the crew the check. I was told the finance person would call me or send me a receipt. To date, I have received neither. I also asked when the quality assurance person was coming by as there were some places that needed sealing (>1"). I wasn't given any time or date. But, some days later, while I was not at home, the QA guy called and said he was in the neighborhood and would drop by in 15 minutes. I did not have my phone active at that time, so I missed the call. I did find a card in the door but that was it. Then few days later I had a voice message that I owed more money. I called the office and was told it was a mistake. So, if you decide to use these guys be prepared!

Great Service! The staff was able to schedule us quickly and the crew arrived promptly; their crew went straight to it and got the job done in a hurry removing a full Bradford Pear and a 2nd already-topped Bradford trunk. Great price, was by far the best bid on the project. Very satisfied with this provider, would certainly recommend and use again!

So far, they have been on-time for the estimate. I liked that they called to remind me about the estimate appointment.

I was seriously impressed by how quickly these guys came in and got my trees cleaned up. Getting the estimate to completion of service only took about a week. We hired them to remove a few trees that were either too close to the house, dead, or trash as well as clean-up and shape our good trees. The end result is that our trees look 100% better and aren't encroaching upon our roof or the neighbor's driveway/house. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. There were no stray branches left after the job. I would absolutely hire them again.

The job went extremely well from start to finish. First, their quote was much better than two other quotes that I obtained. The office set a reasonable date with me which I had to change--no problem. The four-man crew arrived at the agreed time and I was amazed at how organized, rapid and efficient they were. They trimmed a large cedar elm, removing a large overhang of limbs that were blocking the sun reaching my grass, and thinning out medium to small limbs throughout the tree canopy, opening up to the sun quite a bit. I communicated throughout with the foreman, Jose, with whom it was extremely easy to communicate. He was very cooperative and followed several requests I made as to additional limbs, etc. I had contracted for an additional minor trim on a medium-sized live oak over my driveway which they did beyond my expectation. They had their own chipper which greatly aided their efficiency. Their trimming equipment overall impressed me, even spraying protective coating over large cuts high up in the tree with a spray can on a long pole operated with a cord down to the operator. They cleaned up the leaf and twig droppings afterward, leaving the premises neat and clean. They were here and gone in about an hour and a half. No complaints and I highly recommend them.

Fast, efficient, exact and reasonably priced! Best tree service I've used. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about all your tree/plant/shrub needs. Jose and crew are like a NASCAR pit crew, I've never seen that extent of work completed so quickly. They arrived on time, took out 3 large trees, 3 smaller ones, trimmed the rest of the back yard and were in and out in 1 hour. Left the place spotless. These are the guys you want.

I have a swimming pool and live behind gates that have to be locked at all times per city regulation. the company did not bother to contact me to unlock the gate or when they would be trimming the trees as they had a waiting list. the trimmers simply showed up and broke my gate leaving it on the ground with my backyard open to all comers. my neighbor called me at work to ask why my gate was laying on the ground. i have had to prop up the gate until being able to get it fixed. the company also took my swimming pool wrench used to open the pump return. i guess the tree limbs that were cut fell on top of the wrench which was taken. i have already spent $30 to replace the wrench. i am looking for someone to fix the gate and fence that is now "suspect". a garden statue was also moved to avoid being destroyed by falling limbs but was not put back from whence it came. because this company cannot bother to call in advance was unacceptable. i would never hire these people. i not only had to pay the going rate but am now out of pocket needlessly. i have filed a complaint with the BBB against this company. they subjected me to possible liability issues. this company was told to call me a day in advance due to the swimming pool issue. as far as the work goes they were fine. their carelessness could have cost me law suits if some child had come into my back yard and drown in my swimming pool. unacceptable. also other fence pickets were snapped in two due to the limbs either hitting the fence or where they dragged branches over the fence. again, unacceptable.

The service went very well. Casey came out and provided a quote as well as took into account some awkward access to the branches that needed to be removed. His team arrived within the specified window and completed the work as requested quickly.

Pros: 1. The actual tree cutting was done on the scheduled day 2. Knowledgeable about city rules of tree removal Cons 1. Not proactive: Did not finish the job on the day they promised and failed to reach out to communicate that (I had to reach out to them) 2. Not reliable: Said the stump removal would be done the next day (they forgot). Got home that night and it had not been done (and again no communication to inform me). They also sent me a bill without completing the job 3. Delayed completion with minimal communication: The stumps were finally removed the following Monday after I sent an email and talked to Bob on the phone over the weekend I hired them based on the reviews. Quite frankly, I don't know how they got so many good reviews and feel led astray. I have no comments on the price - maybe it is fair or not - you judge.

They were responsive and professional. They gave me a fair price and completed the work quickly.

These young men were like a Disney cartoon and their work outstanding. They came as outlined with a call beforehand and when they arrived they descended upon my property like hungry locusts and whiz bang zip my trees were pruned, the debris were removed and all with a smile on their faces. I cannot recommend this company any higher than five star. And they were referred to me by a trusted neighbor. Excellent. Bravi.
