This was a $99 big deal purchase. It was all good except they never did deliver a written report like they said they would in the deal. They came, looked and talked with me about it. I called him back and they just never have provided the written report. They came out pretty soon after I bought the deal. There was not any extra charges. He said it did not look like it needed anything and that there was no problem. They did not follow through. If they would provide any paperwork I would increase the overall grade to an A. On the big deal it was a very good price. It was good if they would have done the whole thing. Their responsiveness was poor. Their punctuality was good; he was on time.

Few months ago I asked for an inspection and Gary came out to do it. Very professional and I found out that what he provided in the inspection turned out absolutely correct. Great job and I would recommend them to anyone who needs to have their foundation inspected/repaired.

The project itself went well but the company has inexplicably moved out of San Antonio and only serves the Austin area now. Work can with a warranty that doesn't seem to be worth the paper it is written on since they left the area and have not been responding to my inquiries.

I was concerned because I had cracking in the fascia in the foundation. He explained to me the house is built with cinder blocks and then covered with the fascia. I was concerned it was an issue, but the technician advised me the structure was fine. The technician answered all of my questions and took care of my worry. It did take a while for him to mail the report back to me.

He did a good job and gave me the information/estimation I needed. I haven't gotten any work done yet but I appreciated the estimate.

My experience went very well. He was very professional and knowledgeable in his field. He did not try to pressure me into anything I did not need and was very honest. I would recommend this company to others.

George was very quick to respond to the estimate. I liked his professionalism a lot. HOWEVER, the and quot;crewand quot; he sent out spoke no English...at all. They did get right to work, worked hard and amp; appeared to know what they were doing. UNTIL they dug up the back patio and found our septic system. Before they notified us, they had taken the cover off, hid it in the back, cut the main sewer pipe and then showed us (we don't speak enough Spanish to communicate effectively). We kept telling them to get someone out to our house that could communicate effectively. I had told them in English to do nothing until George came out to our house. He never showed, never came to check on the crew or returned our calls. His and quot;crewand quot; CUT the main sewer pipe, leading to our septic. This pipe was for the main bathroom in our house. The rest of the house is hooked up to the city sewer system. The septic was grandfathered in. I tried to tell them this. They didn't listen/didn't understand/didn't care. After completing the job, they were supposed to repair the concrete. The patch they put on our sidewalk and patio was about 1/4and quot; - 1and quot; thick and could be broken up by using a rock, a screwdriver or a small hammer. The concrete crumbled easily. It was not floated well and amp; was ridged and was a tripping hazard. They completed leveling the house, and it appears to be much more level than it was. I don't really know...Mr. Coffing never came back to check on the job. He never came and did repeat measurements. If he would have answered our calls, we would have known he had no intention of doing so. The morning after they finished we had to make an emergency trip to Buffalo, NY to take care of my father in law. We were gone almost a month. When we got back in town and amp; we immediately noticed the main bathroom was non-functional. The toilet would not drain, the bathtub would not drain, and the sink wouldn't either. We rented a drain snake twice to try and clear it out. Both times we got thick mud. My husband then used a screwdriver to remove the concrete patch over the drain and septic. We found where they had cut the main sewer pipe, stuffed it with mud and dumped all the concrete from the patio in our septic system. I wandered to the back of our back yard and found the septic cover, hidden with some leaves. We called Mr. Coffing repeatedly. After 5 or 6 calls, he finally returned our phone call. He basically blew us off, saying it wasn't his problem and amp; I had to deal with it on my own. I told him the workers were instructed to leave the septic alone, that it was functional, but he said he didn't care. He claims his workers told us about it and told us to destroy it. That's a mistruth on his part. It wound up that we had to repair it on our own, to the cost of $8,000.00. If you value your money, do not use this guy. He cannot be trusted. His workers are liars. He refuses to listen to his customers is a very poor businessman. He does not check on his workers, or check their work. He does not come back to make sure the work is done right either.

The services from G A Coffing And Sons Foundation Repair went fine. I would use this provider in the future.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. I don't really know if I needed this service and don't know if I needed it done. I had to take their word about what my foundation looked like.

At first they fought me on it but finally they sent a guy to come out. They “fixed” the problem with small peat gravel that looks nothing like the rest of the slab. Eventually I will have to have another concrete person fix the job, as I really don’t like the way it looks. He did the job, but I had to really push him. He said I would get an inspection report and writeup right away, which I needed to sell my house. I waited several weeks to hear from him, but never heard about it. I was upset that he came so quickly to help start the work, but dragged his heels for so long in getting the paperwork to me. He finally got the report to me, after almost a month. His workers were good, and the workmanship was good except for the stone I mentioned.

He was very nice and did whatever he had to do. We still haven't received a report. He said that everything was fine. I haven't followed up with him since he was here. I told him it was OK, as long as everything is alright.

This is a one year follow-up on foundation work that was completed by G.A. Coffing & Sons in May 2012. As I indicated then, the work was completed in a timely manner, at the price specified along with the workers cleaning-up after themselves which left both the interior and exterior ready for continued work by other professionals (for interior/exterior painting). For most write-ups this would be sufficinet but then I added that either Mr. Coffing or his site supervisor were always there overseeing the work. This particular job was complicated, in that not only were there issues around the pheriphy of the slab which had subsided but there was an area inside the house (in the center) that was bowing downward. The repair approach recommended was thoroughly explained, options proposed/explained and some extra time was spent with my 90 year old mother about what was needed and why. -if you were to walk into the house today you would not see any hairline cracks around the windows or doors, -the floors remain straight and level as they were when the work was completed, -the few times since last year that foundation work has come-up in conversation, -I have without hesitation recommended Mr. Coffing and company. The owner, Gary was very professional and courteous. He understood the mistake and advised on how to cancel the deal.

They were prompt, on time for the appointment. No service was needed. Just out to give an estimate and look at foundation.

After I purchased the inspection Big Deal I sent Mr. Coffing an email. He immediately responded to me and we arranged a time to meet at the house for the inspection. After he inspected the foundation he explained to me in detail what he had found. He showed me in the house where the foundation had sloped and the cracks that had resulted. He absolutely never, never, never tried to pressure me to make the repairs. He explained the situation and his recommendation to correct the condition of the foundation. He later provided me a written description and estimate for the work. I decided to have the foundation repaired. Mr Coffing’s work crew arrived as scheduled and completed the work timely. The leader of the crew was extremely polite and was very careful not to get any dirt in the house. After they dug the holes he came to the door and invited me outside to show me where the house was unlevel and then again to show me the difference after they installed the piers. He also showed me how the cracks in the walls had closed up. When the crew took a break for lunch the crew leader again came to the door to tell me that they were breaking for lunch so I would know why they weren’t working. He was very professional. The crew left the yard very neat and level. After the work was completed a State registered Engineer met me at the house and showed me the readings and confirmed they were within allowable levels. Mr Coffing then sent me his lifetime warranty for the work.

Gary was nice and said he'd have someone call me. I finally got a call back from Keith and set up an appointment. My husband and I both took off work and rearranged our schedules to meet the contractor for our scheduled appointment at 9:00 am. When that time came and went, I still had not heard from Keith. I called him and from what he said on the phone, it was obvious he knew we had an appointment, he just hadn't bothered to contact me to let me know he'd be VERY late (he wasn't even on his way). Said somehow my number wasn't in his phone, yet he called me by name when he answered (before I even spoke). He asked if we could reschedule for 10:00 am. Against my better judgement, I agreed. Ten o'clock came and went... I tried calling at 10:20 ...no answer. 10:30 ... no answer. Finally at 10:45, Keith called to say he'd gotten caught up in something else. Didn't sound like he was on his way. I had other another appoinment to get to so couldn't wait on him. My husband (self-employed) actually lost wages to meet with this company. I understand that things come up and sometimes people are a few minutes late but I DON'T understand the complete lack of courtesy and respect. A simple phone call BEFORE the originally scheduled time would have saved my family time and money (lost wages $400) and saved this company from losing a customer. Instead, we share this bad experience with friends, family, coworkers and others, and will now give our business to another company. If you can't trust someone to show up or to be professional, how can you trust them with a job. Very disappointing. I expected more from someone that got good ratings on Angie's list and that is also listed with the BBB. So glad that I didn't hire this company. The response they provided to the BBB was a complete fabrication of the truth. I was blown away with the lack of honesty and integrity. I was fortunate to find another company from Angie's list that we will use for our needs.

The workmen did an excellent job my issue is with Mr Coffing responding to my calls and emails. I did loose one of my shrubs because of root damage but Mr Coffing explained that it could happen because of the proximity of the shrub to the house and the room needed to dig the holes. I only saw Mr Coffing one time and that was for the initial visit, after that he would email or call me. When the job was done I was told that I would get a receipt within a few days showing the the account was paid. it took more like a few weeks with repeated calls and emails from me to get this receipt. Also, the job was completed on Oct 7 but it took until November 19th to get the engineer to the house. Maybe this is a normal way of conducting this type of business but it is not normal for me and I was in business for 28 years working with people. I was particularly apprehensive about dealing with a contractor because of a very bad experience with another contractor so perhaps I was more sensitive to the 'lack' of response.

I bought an Angie's deal for an inspection. Gary came out and did the inspection but never emailed the report. When I contacted him again about it he informed me that some of his paperwork was thrown out by his cleaning service. He scheduled to come back out and do the inspection over. He explained to me that he felt my foundation was much worse than the last time he was out just a couple of months earlier. Previously he said it wasn't too bad but I should keep an eye on it because he suspected it would fail in a few years. He assured me he would get the report and estimate of the repairs quickly so I could provide them to our builder. I was shocked when I received an estimate of $50,000+ in repairs. Mind you I have some cracks on the corners of the house and some where the foundation meets the brick but all my windows and doors shut properly and I do not have any inside cracks. The builder sent out an independent engineer to do the same thing Gary did and he came up with very different findings. I mentioned to him that Gary told me to water the foundation and he informed me since our home is in the hill country built on limestone, watering would have no effect on the foundation and would be a waste of time and money to do. We do not have foundation issues but rather when the house was built they failed to use thermal expansion joints in the brick and when the temperature changes it does not have a way to expand or contract. I would advise anyone who uses this company to get more than one estimate because they make their money on repairs not $100 inspections.

Bought a pre-paid foundation inspection package. Initially there were some mis-communications as to meeting day/time but Gary (owner) personally reached out to me to make it right and ensure the services I had expected were performed. We agreed a day/time and he and his guy were prompt and performed the foundation inspection. They left me with some general foundation documentation and a verbal explanation of what they observed in my foundation. I have not received the formal written package yet but expect it to be delivered soon. My comments are based solely based on the special for foundation inspection as I do not have a quote for foundation repair, nor have I engaged them on actual foundation repair as yet.

The technician (I think he was also the owner) was prompt, thorough, and professional. He did a very careful job. It turned out that I don't need any foundation work, but I would use his firm in the future if I did.

He was very professional. He came and did his measurement. He gave me a really detailed report telling what he found and I would highly recommend them.

It was fine, they were prompt and on time. They were very professional. No complaints but the estimate seemed a bit high in my opinion I am not comparing it to anything at this point.
