We need to get a pre-purchase inspection of the HVAC systems in a house we are considering buying, and called Fox based on good Angie's List reviews. The woman who answered the phone said that it costs "$180 per unit" for an inspection. My husband asked if that was "unit" as in per dwelling, or "unit" as in $180 for each the 2 furnaces, $180 for the AC, etc. She said, "The serviceman will tell that you when he comes." I find it unacceptable that they were unable to tell us up front whether it would cost $180 or $540 or more just to come evaluate a house's systems, and that she also did not understand why we were concerned by the vagueness of the pricing structure.

I used them for a while. Their price is high but their quality is also high.

I would recommend FOX they have always been timely if not early. Booties at the door and a statement of we are here to do XYZ today. Have always been courteous. Wish I could remember the fellows name that was here sometime ago but he went way out of way to assist and explain to us regular maintenance item... Saved us lots of time and energy ever since. I guess a lot of these services can always be pricey. They have never been the most $$$ but never the least expensive either.

They replaced my whole furnace with a top of the line, Bryant. I have been with them a long time. They are kind of expensive. Its good to go with someone you have done business with because you have a little more leverage if something goes south. They are more willing to work with you because they go off word of mouth and they don't need the bad press. It's usually the same people who come out; they have been here before and they know the layout.

They are punctual and they definitely know what they are doing.

They were excellent. They evaluated our old system and reduced the tonage of being out put by the air conditioner. They made more comfortable in our home.

I like them very much. I had another company look at my heater and try to tell me I needed a new unit when it was just a 25 cent piece that needed replaced. They are very professional.

They are reliable, prompt, and efficient.

Fox returned my service call within a few hours. The indicated when they would send someone, and their electrician, Tim, showed up on time. I demonstrated the problem to Tim and asked him to provide a rough verbal estimate before getting started. He explained to me how their services were priced (essentially time and materials) and gave me a rough idea as to how long it would take. From start to finish (diagnostics to repair to clean up), it took under 2 hours. The whole project was finished within about 30 hours of my original call (which was on a Sunday). Great, efficiency, and clear.

Fox was great; they gave us good prices, explained all the differences between systems, set up the rebates, spent a lot of extra time to work with our house's funky duct system structure and overall were extremely pleasant and professional. They have since come back twice a year to service the system and they are always punctual, clean and professional. Unlike their competition (a large competitor with lots of ads out there), who tried to sell us things we didn't need or want and told us they could not install the filtration system we wanted, the Fox representatives who worked with us spent lots of time showing us exactly how things could work, where changes would be needed or could be skipped and what our options were. This made us comfortable that we were really getting what we needed - particularly with such a large expense, that is a good feeling. Would never call anyone but Fox for our AC/heating needs now.

I spent under $10,000 on the system. The price was average. I found them through word of mouth from one of my neighbors. They were professional. I will use them again in the future.

They’ve done a great job for us. They seemed very honest. They were very helpful in trying to reduce cost but they put in quality products as well. We will use their services again in the future.

They did a good job. My only complaint was that they didn't give me an itemized bill; it was just a lump sum so I had no way to compare it to anybody else. Everybody in town had frozen pipes and I was lucky to get them to come out so I decided to go ahead and contract with them although I thought it was a little high. Once they finally came out they were punctual. It took them a couple of days to come out so I was without water for about four days. I would probably use them again.

I have had a long-term service with them. I would not use them again under any circumstances. I have been using them close to 25 years. We had the agreement with them for a long period of time. When we moved to our current address, we continued our relationship with them. Unfortunately, the founder of Fox service passed away. It appeared that the customer service and the attitude of the company changed dramatically. We inherited some significant air conditioning problem. When we moved to the current address, we had multiple visits from them. We had $4000 worth of ductwork, some air conditioning and re-plumbing work done under the assurance from one of the technical representatives that we would be able to gain another 4-6 years of service from our present air conditioning system, but none of them worked. The air conditioning that we had it in our house was not properly installed, when the home was built. When we moved in 5 years ago, the air conditioning system was dying. I asked them when they came out for the first periodic twice a year maintenance check, if it was worth fixing the unit, which included re-plumbing the refrigerant line. They assured me that with the recommendations of replacing the refrigerant lines, additional ductwork, and adding baffles, they can prolong the life of my air conditioner. They recommended me to replace the entire unit, so I was very unhappy. It went on for two years. I would not use them again. The service that they provided was overpriced. When they did submit the bid for the new air conditioner system, it was not even competitive.

The experience was good. They always took care of the problems.

They showed up 30 minutes late but I will use them again in the future. The good thing about this company is that if something they work on does not work right they will come back for one year to fix it.

I use them a lot and I highly recommend them. They got there to do the job and it’s the quickest service that I’ve ever had, and they fixed it right away. I don’t remember how much I spent on the service but it was a lot because it was a Sunday. I’ve used them for fifteen years and they come out seven days a week. You have to pay for it but they’ve always been dependable. I will use their services again in the future.

I price compared to smaller companies and to my surprise, Fox had the best bid by about $1000. Most amazing, however was the service. They went not only an extra mile, but an extra five miles. Our old house is so solidly built, it took extra time to cut into walls to install ducts. They came on a weekend to finish up at no extra charge. They installed some extra duct work not originally planed when it became evident this would improve circulation. This extra work came at no extra charge. The workmen were unfailingly courteous, patient, thorough in their work, and cleaned up after themselves. We are completely pleased with the unit and the value we got for the $$. They were great. He was good and the price was reasonable. There was a little misunderstanding about the fact that he had to leave something open for the city and he had to come back and it was not clear that they were going to charge for a second service call. We worked that out with them and I don't think we paid it and they didn't charge us for it. He was a very nice person. He gave us a card for the part of their company that does servicing on air conditioning and heating systems and we would consider using them again.

Very good experience - would definitely use this company again! During one of the many stretches consecutive 100+ degree temperature days, our air conditioner stopped working as discovered upon returning home very late at night. Called Fox early the following morning, left message on their service, and received return call promptly at start of their business hours. They informed me that they were juggling numerous emergency calls of same nature but would check with technicians to confirm if a service call could be fit in that day. I received a return call within the hour with confirmation that a technician could be there between 3-6pm. Technician called approximately 3:30 to report he was on the way and arrived approx. 4pm. Problem was successfully repaired quickly and technician left within the hour.

I was very unsatisfied. The problem was the man they sent out. When I complained, the company said they would get back with me and they never did. He charged me for a service call and spent most of the time in his air conditioned truck while I stood out in the heat. The man was an hour and a half late for our appointment.

I've used them a couple of times. They were fine and the service was good. They found what was causing the problem. I had somebody else that couldn't find the problem so that was good. I didn't compare prices. I would use them again.
