#1 Rosie Casas entered into a contract as Project Manager to renovate a small kitchen. On the first day of kitchen demo work, I was reluctant to leave the house open because I had a Dr. appointment I could not change. Rosie volunteered to keep an eye on things for me while I was gone. At the other end of the house and well away from the kitchen, all the doors were closed when I left. Upon my return it appeared the master bedroom as well as the study had been entered and things rifled through. It appeared no attempt was made to prevent items from being taken. As demo and installation progressed, it became obvious that her subs needed more guidance as many tasks had to be redone not only once, but several times, before completion. Many mistakes had been made and needed to be corrected. Rosie never acknowledged that anything was her (or her subs) fault. The installers of the appliances had to be rescheduled four times because each time it turned out the kitchen had not reached the required final stage for installation. Rosie continually stated it was not her fault the kitchen was running over time and was not responsible for the appliance installation. (As project manager for the complete kitchen remodel, yes, it was her responsibility.) Receipts for cabinets and parts were presented by Rosie for reimbursement. Upon closer inspection of the receipts, it appeared there were quite a few items which were not part of the project and which she acknowledged to be her own. Those were not reimbursed. Very unprofessional for someone to do that. Finally, the whole project ran 50 days behind schedule and ran over budget thanks to the incompetence of Rosie and her subs. This delay created great turmoil for the whole family as everything on the calendar previously planned had to be cancelled during those days. I would not recommend Rosie for anything having to do with any remodeling. #2 This comment is in response to Helga A. I was one of the contractors hired by Rosie Casas to build and install the kitchen cabinets. Helga A. on multiple occasions made remarks with a racist undertone. She claims that someone had gone through her things while she was gone, but the only accessible area was a walkway from the front door to the kitchen. All the planning was also done around the client's schedule and what worked best for her. She was always at the house when anyone was there was any work being done. The rest of the house was sealed off. My first interaction with Helga A. was her responding to me "I don't speak Spanish" as I asked her a question in English and proceeded to ignore me and walk away. Her tone changed with me when she found out that my name is Billy. Rosie Casas sits down with her client and designs a project on what the client wants. Everything is laid out on here very detailed floor plan. There are times that a client may change their mind or see it differently as the project progresses, this is understandable. Helga A. on the other hand would ask us to change something from the floor plan than claim it was the project managers fault for not consulting her. I ended up shifting the hanging cabinets a total of 3 times and Helga A. proceeded to blame the project manager for poor planning and the delay in completion. Her response was always that no one told her, or she did not know about, this is not true since everything was clearly laid out on the floor plan. The appliances where purchased outside of the project managers plans. The store that the appliances were purchased from would void all warranty if their installers were not the ones to install them. This ultimately left the project manager unable to plan and deal directly with the company that the appliances were purchased from. The items that Helga A. claims to not be part of the project were the cost for all the changes made by her from the original floor plan. Several cabinets were resized after they were installed. For example, the pantry was extended over 20 inches, this means that there's more material used and needed. I believe Helga A. is a woman from a different time filled with prejudice and uncomfortable interacting with non-Anglos. #3 These remarks are a necessary correction response to Billy’s comment when facts don’t fit his narrative: His assertion that in the house there was " the only accessible area was a walkway the front door to the kitchen” is an incorrect statement. In order to avoid the expected dust, a plastic curtain had been installed from the front door to the kitchen with a zipper opening to the rest of the house. "The rest of the house was sealed off.” This cannot be considered a “sealed off” installation as Billy insinuated. It appeared to be non purloin proof "She was always at the house when anyone was there was any work being done.” Wrong! Due to an unchangeable medical appointment the Owner had to leave the house reluctantly - but Rosie declared she would keep an eye on things during Owner's absence.. Upon leaving all the doors in the rear of the house - away from the kitchen - were closed. Upon return it appeared that someone had entered the Master Bedroom as well as the Study. It appeared things had been rifled through, it appeared items were missing. 3). "Rosie Casas sits down with her client and designs a project on what the client wants. Everything is laid out on here very detailed floor plan.” The Owner never was given a so called “floor plan” as was mentioned by Billy…. . there never was one. 4 ). Billy had been hired by Rosie to install cabinets, same height and layout as the old ones which Billy saw before demo. Despite the fact he had seen the original layout - he had to change his installation several times because he could never get it right. He was polite and accommodating. "ask us to change something from the floor plan than claim it was the project managers fault for not consulting her.” There never was a floor plan. The appliances were supposed to be flush with the cabinets per our verbal agreement. As it appears they are sticking out because Billy and Rosie could not get their measurements correct. To this day the refrigerator door cannot be opened all the way because it appears the adjacent cabinet's door interferes. The counter top which was to be flush with the range is too low. The Pantry was to be full depth. None could be corrected. It appears there were serious problems between the “Manager” and Billy to work together successfully. 5) "The appliances where purchased outside of the project managers plans.” Yes, they were but that has nothing to do with the fact that all Rosie had to do is to have the kitchen finished and ready for the installers. This was her job & responsibility. She knew that. The final stage was to be the installation. Every time she gave us the green light for installation, the technicians arrived and rejected her “finished” kitchen as unfinished. She chose not attend their appearances. They had to come four times to finally install the appliances some of which do not fit properly between the cabinets as requested and agreed. 6) "The items that Helga A. claims to not be part of the project were the cost for all the changes made by her from the original floor plan.” Here again Billy speaks hearsay. The facts don’t fit his narrative. He never was present during any accounting/financial discussions between Owner and Rosie. Yes it appears there were items which were not part of the project but were charged to the Owner which Rosie Casas had admitted to be her own. I stand by my original statement that it appears that under Rosie’s watch no attempt was made to prevent items from being taken, it appears this place was looted. It appears with 50 days delay and budget overruns including all the above plus unauthorized charges, a one half star is too much & so is an "F". END.

We bought the house and had her remodel it. She is a contractor. It was supposed to be finished March 15 but it was not finished until last week. Everything was included in the price. She did not have enough crew work for her. They would do something and then come back several days later and do something else. The carpenter that was working for her did everything very slowly and did a poor job. When she saw our number she did not respond because she was afraid we would ask again.
Description of Work: I used Rosie Casas of Flower House Interiors to fully remodel the house.
