****BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES AND NO WARRANTY WARRANTY **** I have been a customer of fixyourboard.com since Oct.2012. I have been very happy with their service until recently. I own a in-home appliance repair service in Fort Worth, Texas and have used their service about 20+ time in the last decade. I am not sure what has happened in the last two years, but the last two boards that I sent in have had problems. In April of 2022 I sent in a refrigerator control board for one of my customers p/n 8201527 with a will not defrost problem. The board was “repaired” and after installing it into my customers refrigerator, the refrigerator would still not defrost. I replaced the defrost heater, bimetal, fresh food damper and Thermistor. The refrigerator would still not defrost. I pulled the board and sent it in for warranty service in July 2022. The board was returned with a note that no problem was found and after re-installing the board the refrigerator would still not defrost. Also in July 2022 I was able to locate a used refrigerator with a similar model that had a bad compressor and purchased it. In August I pulled the board and installed it into my customer’s refrigerator. My customer’s refrigerator has not had a problem since. I got busy and only recently replaced the compressor in the used refrigerator and the “repaired” board. It would not defrost. I sent the board in again in July 2023 still with the same issue. The board was returned with a note that there was no problem found and I was charged a “bench fee” of $54.00. I installed the board back into the refrigerator and now the unit will cool down to temperature and shut off. It will not turn back on again until I open the door or bang on the side of the box. I can leave the door open slightly and when it does not turn back on I can tap on the control board cover and it will turn back on. I do not believe that they are able or willing to repair the control properly and will not pursue this with them anymore. I have asked for a refund of the bench fee. Also in June 2023 I sent in a board p/n 12200028 for an oven that was a no power problem for another one of my customers. When I received it back and installed it in my customer’s oven it would power on, but would not let me set the clock and seemed to be stuck in self clean. I pulled it again and sent it back for repair. The second time I got it back I received a note that “no problems were found”. Again I was charged a “bench fee” of $54.00 and I have asked for a refund for it as well. The customer that had the oven board was there when I installed it both times and watched me while I did it. She saw the problem with the board on the first install and thankfully the board worked properly on the second install. She is willing to “back up” my story of the problem on the first install of the oven board. I do not like it when I have to return to a customer’s house several times to complete a job and as such I will use a different company to repair my board in the future. I just think it is very sad that a company who I thought was a reputable company would use such shady tactics to cover their mistakes or increase their bottom line.

The short version of this review is simply to say, DO NOT use this company for your circuit board/touchpad repair! Their 2 yr. guarantee is only good if you choose to spend more money for shipping costs and potential charges for additional "bench" analysis....When FixYourBoard fails to do their job correctly, you will be faced with investing more money to have them fix what they should have done correctly in the first place. Do not use this company and don't be fooled by their guarantee....read the fine print and you will not be impressed. The rest of this review is about my KitchenAid double oven. Prior to sending my control panel and touchpad to FixYourBoard, both ovens worked fine, however the clock display and oven timer did not function. $380 later, I re-installed the "repaired and tested" 'control panel and touchpad, which is a simple process, and absolutely nothing worked....no oven, no clock, no timer...nothing. Of course, FixYourBoard suggested that the issue may be on my end and not the result of the work that they did. I shared the following facts....the oven worked before I sent the control board/touchpad to FixYourBoard, they supposedly "fixed" the control board/touchpad, and then the oven didn't work at all...the issue seems pretty straight forward to me, so rather than invest in additional shipping costs and potential bench fees, I requested a credit of $175.00 for ruining my oven. FixYourBoard stood (hid) behind their guarantee and refused to offer any credit for ruining my oven. Now, after a month with dealing with FixYourBoard and no oven functionality, I am forced to purchase a new oven. So, like others with similar reviews, I too have been scammed by FixYourBoard....i should have listened to them and made a better choice.

We could no longer set the temperature on our Whirlpool oven after doing a self-clean cycle. A service technician said the touch panel and control board were damaged. Because Whirlpool is no longer making these parts, he said we would have to buy a new oven. The cost of replacing the oven would be around $1,000.00. By doing a search online, I discovered the parts were available from Fixyourboard.com. The service technician would not use these parts because they were not authorized by Whirlpool. I don't claim to be an expert on this subject, but I imagine Whirlpool would require a licensing agreement, their logo on the touch panel, and fees for testing the parts at Whirlpool. As I mentioned to the technician, the important thing was to find parts that work properly, authorized or not. The representative at Fixyourboard.com said I probably did not need a new control board because our oven was still heating properly at 350--we just couldn't change the temperature. That was an immediate savings of about $200.00. The representative recommended a new touch panel for about $175.00 and sent us a video link for instructions on how to install it. The components on the touch panel were tested and came with a two-year warranty. I was able to install the new touch panel myself with a few common household tools and a little manual dexterity. We like the feel and placement of the buttons on this panel better than the original Whirlpool panel. The panel looks and works great. For once in our lives, we feel like we won a battle with the major appliance companies. We were not forced into buying a new and expensive appliance because of their failure to provide parts for earlier models. We are especially happy because many of the newer appliances today do not appear to be built as well as older models, as noted by both service technicians and reviewers online. If you decide to replace a touch panel or control board yourself, I have a few suggestions. Turn off the power to the oven at the circuit panel. Put a towel over the top of the oven door to protect the tiny wires on the control board when it flops down. When inserting the plastic circuit tape into the control board, you may need another pair of hands to keep the circuit tape attached to the plastic terminal as you snap everything in place--otherwise the circuit tape tens to pop out before you can snap everything together. Alternately, if working alone, you may want to use a piece of easy-release 3/4 inch painter's tape to attach the circuit tape to the plastic terminal. Carefully remove the painter's tape when the circuit tape is secure in the terminal on the board. Finally, dust off the digital screen display on your old control board--it will be brighter without the dust.

Very positive. I mailed the unit to them in Austin, TX and after receipt it took them 3 days to respond that it was fixed and on its way back to me. 2 day delivery, was installed, now oven works like new. Great company. D. Brockway, Meridian, Idaho

They were very helpful. I had issue with my wall oven and suspected it was a control board issue. I called them and described my problem. They asked me to send the control board and panel for testing. It was identified as a board issue and they fixed it, changed some parts as preventative measure too. It worked well when I installed it. Before finding them, I was trying other repair sites and none of them sounded confident that they could fix the issue. I was very happy that Fixyourboard could fix it for me.

Our Kitchenaid built-in refrigerator started making a soft pinging noise and the evaporator fan was cycling on/off every 15-30 seconds. I talked with a tech from JustAnswers.com and he confirmed the control board was bad. The problem was the board is no longer generally available as a replacement. I found a board on eBay for almost $800 but the JustAnswers tech suggested I look for a repair facility. Thanks to Google I came across FixYourBoard and noticed they are in South Austin. I took the defective board to their shop and ordered expedite service for an additional $50 over the repair price of $220. I received a call later in the afternoon that the board was repaired. One impressive thing was, in addition to quickly fixing my problem, they also replaced several other components known to go bad and they gave an excellent warranty on their work. Thanks to JustAnswers.com and FixYourBoard I was able to have my refrigerator operational again within 24 hours of diagnosing the problem. Thanks to the guys at FixYourBoard. I will use them again for sure.

Fixyourboard.com's service and work are as good as it gets. The control board of my double convection ovens had been failing for some time. A replacement unit is no longer available. One option, $5000 double convection oven replacement. Better option: have the board repaired if possible. I removed the controller and sent it in with my check for $190. It seems that this is their all inclusive price for the service. Fixyourboard.com repaired what was wrong (primarily relays), and even replaced a few of the commonly problematic parts that hadn't already failed but likely would. The work was done within 3 days of their receipt of the controller and the now restored, working unit was returned FEDEX, all for $190. No muss, no fuss. Impressive. You won't find a better bargain anywhere.
Description of Work: This company repairs/rebuilds electronic boards from all types of home appliances such as ovens, refrigerators, ovens, etc. This is true even if the unit has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Either you, or your repair person can remove and send in your malfunctioning board. They will test, repair, test again, and then return the working board. Repaired my wall oven computer controller board.

I searched the Internet and found several sites. They appeared to be pretty good. A local repair store couldn't fix it but identified the main component that failed, which happened to be the entire electronics system board. I shipped it to them, they rcvd it, and contacted me 3 days later for the repair fee. I paid it, and rcvd it back 3 days later. My old double oven now works again !! They even replaced some components that are known to go bad. Also, they repaired some fractured soldering areas.

I initially had reservations about using this business because of their affiliation with Oak Hill Appliance, which doesn't have the greatest reviews. However, this service was comprehensive and responsive.

Our bake element failed the week before Thanksgiving. An appliance repair company informed us that the problem was the control board and that even though the range was only seven years old, the part was discontinued and no longer available. Our only apparent option was to replace the range at a cost of over $2000. I found FixYourBoard.com online and because they were members of the BBB decided to give them a chance. They provided email assistance to me to remove the control board. I shipped it to them and within hours of receiving the board had it repaired. They were cooperative with shipping the board back 2nd day air AM delivery (at my expense) so that my wife would be able to bake my son's birthday cake. It arrived back as promised and has been working like new in the few days since that time. They did exactly what they claimed they would do (including a 2 year warranty) and did it in an extremely timely and professional manner. At this time I could not be more pleased.
Description of Work: Repaired discontinued Thermador Range control board. Also updated board with components that were most likely to fail in the future.
