We couldn't be happier with the service we received from ProTect Painters of Austin. We had a fairly complicated project and received several quotes. It was an easy decision - Bob's attention to detail far surpassed the other contractors. He asked lots of questions, took detailed notes, and took the time to make sure we had the best solution for each problem. He even coordinated the sub-contracting of some carpentry work that he wasn't comfortable having his crew work on. They helped us pick the perfect white for our walls (which isn't always easy). The work was done on time and exceeded our expectations. They came back once the job was completed to go over any touch-ups or spots they missed. A project that started out as a headache ended up being painless and easy thanks to ProTect.

EXCELLENT! After years of apartment dwelling, my husband and I just bought our first home and one of the first things I wanted to do was paint -- without needing a landlord's permission! YAY, FREEDOM! My darling hubby allowed me to select the colors, saying simply that he wanted something "bold and modern" and I just wanted lots of beautiful color. I contacted several companies in Austin for estimates and considered purchasing a Big Deal at one point. My situation was difficult because 1.) I've never had a pro do paint for me and was clueless about cost; 2.) I was living in Colorado at the time and the original sellers were leasing back our house, so it would be impossible for me to have an in-person estimate. A few companies flat out said that they couldn't give an estimate without being there in person. One never contacted me back. One sounded shady. And then I called ProTect. I got what sounded like a woman in a call center who took notes, asked questions, and said that it may be doable for their paint pro to give me an estimate over the phone, provided I had a floor plan with measurements -- which I did! I got a response from Dan Ouelette (or Dan-O) who was outstanding at every step of the way. I gave him my floor plan and he gave me an initial price and it was, sadly, WAY out of our budget. I told him thanks but no thanks, but he emailed back and suggested we try to modify the plan and do something that worked within our budget. So he took out the small areas that I didn't really need painted right away and we decided to save the trim work for later, since it would only be a refresher and not a color change. Voila! He came back with a price BELOW my max with a completion time within my specified timeline. I was sold. Randy Zeefe came to help me select colors. He's a great guy, very personable, and I felt like I knew him forever. Once the colors were selected, he left to get them ordered. Next thing I know, the ProTect crew arrives to prep the work area. I could tell from the get-go that these guys definitely know what they're doing. The patched a big 4"x4" hole the previous owners left on one of my big feature walls and I swear that I now cannot see where the hole once was. And they re-did a patch job that the previous owners had some shoddy handyman do that was bulging and awful -- again, ProTect masterfully finished it and the wall looked like new! i have beautiful dark, hand-scraped wood floors and they were very careful to put down plenty of protective plastic. I observed them with their equipment and ladders and they were equally just as careful not to leave a mark. Once the paint got here, it was amazing how quick they transformed my house from drab to a colorful, vibrant place. My photos don't do their work justice! They were efficient and precise. The painters -- Warren, Oscar, and Xavier -- are consummate professionals. They didn't even turn on music until I said they were welcome to do so. They were polite at all times and were just a pleasure to have in my home. I tipped them handsomely because I was so impressed! And when the job was complete, Dan Schaeffer, the owner of ProTect, came to the house to inspect along with Randy. Dan has an eye for detail and pointed out a couple of very minor paint corrections that the guys fixed immediately. Talk about going the extra mile! ProTect was a FIVE STAR, A++ experience from start to finish. I already have plans to hire them again for more fun work and they are one company that I will go out of my way to recommend to friends and family.

Dan-O was able to set an appointment for an estimate right away and was prompt on that committed time. After a thorough walk-through to understand the scope, he provided a quote later that same day. Working within our schedule and needs, Lupe and his crew arrived at the promised time and did an outstanding job. We decided to add an additional accent wall to the scope of the project which Dan-O accepted without question, provided us the additional cost on the spot, and the crew still finished the project on time. Having workers in your home can cause upheaval at times, but Lupe and his crew worked to minimize any disruption, were courteous and completely professional at all times. When we need another paint project done, we won't call anyone else!

Excellent all around. The attention to detail was superb. They had to paint areas that are over three stories high and did this with little fuss or problems. The crew was excellent to work with. Very helpful and anticipated issues and handled them with ease. Very professional. Donna was on site several time a day and stayed on top of the project. She kept me appraised of the project with text messages and face to face meetings. At the end of each day, she walked the property and inspected the work while "policing" the area for leftover items. All in all, after many experiences with painters over the years, these folks are the best I've ever employed. On time, on target!

They did a great job over the course of a full week. They worked the weekend so we could move in as planned. We are very happy with the way the job turned out.

They were fantastic. They were very fast, they did it in one day. Considering the price, they did a fantastic job. They were fast, efficient and moderately priced.

ProTect did an outstanding job! They pressured washed and caulked areas before painting. They covered the windows and outdoor lighting prior to painting and didn't drop a speck of paint during the entire job. Dan Schaeffer stayed in contact with me throughout the process to let me know about rescheduling time due to rain and followed up after the job to ensure there were no touch-ups needed. The painters were very professionals and went out of their way to help reattach a gutter down spout after they had finished. They never took a break and worked until 8:00 p.m. In order the job. ProTect is the best painting company! They may not be the cheapest, but they are the only painting company I'll ever use. You get want you pay for!

We couldn't be happier with the results of the work ProTect did. We are pretty picky about contractors and they met our expectations. We've used several painting companies in town and believe me there is a huge range of skills, quality and professionalist. It's not worth the headache to have problems during a renovation that's already stressful. They weren't the lowest bid but we were impressed with the creative solution they provided for a problem area. During the bid, it was clear to me that they were a professional company and don't take short cuts. The employees were very curtious and I felt comfortable having them in my home. I worked with owner Dan Schaeffer and was impressed start to finish. He was punctual, provided a detailed estimate on his fist visit, and was involved and in touch throughout the process. The crews were great and left my house as clean as it was when they arrived. This job took three days overall and was completed on time and on budget. It's worth noting that although there was an issue with the drywall texturing, Dan went above and to do whatever it took to immediately get the issue resolved. I'm very satisfied, but thought this was an important thing to mention because it speaks to the ethical side of this business and their willingness to do what it takes to make sure the customer is happy in the end. This is rare these days and Protect still does business the way it should be done.

They kept their appointment to review the work and make a proposal. They made good recommendations and demonstrated that they knew their business. They did the work as promised with daily supervision of the workers by owner Donna Twomey.

Whoever said, "Good help is hard to find" has not worked with these guys! I had gotten estimates from 2 other companies before a friend recommended Protect painters. I was feeling overwhelmed after the first company wanted me to move all of my furniture out before having the work done and the 2nd company gave me the runaround just with trying to schedule a start date. Dan S did the estimate and I was so impressed with his honesty and professionalism. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell services that I really didn't want or need. He was so thorough and answered all of my questions. He had an estimate to me before he even left my condo. Scheduling was easy and they were ready to start the next Monday (the estimate was given the Wednesday before). These guys are on the ball and always respond quickly. Anytime I had a question or any concern all I had to do was send an e-mail and I had a response from either Dan S or Dan O within minutes! Dan O would even respond late into the evening! I was worried that I might have to take time off for the work to be done, but I'd seen such good reviews both on Angie's List and from a friend that I felt comfortable leaving my key with them while they took care of everything. I'm really glad to have found these guys. They turned a potentially stressful time into a piece of cake and I would definitely hire them again.

What a great experience I had with Donna and Bob Twomey and their crew at ProTect Painters! Professionalism, thoroughness and attention to detail, friendliness, listening to my needs and concerns, and the list goes on. And the beautiful painting job they performed on my home met my highest expectations. My first meeting was with Bob, who impressed me with his breadth of knowledge and suggestions of items I hadn't even considered. He provided me with a very detailed proposal and did not push me to sign a contract on the spot. Once the job commenced, Donna and her crew arrived promptly each day at a time that Donna made sure was convenient for me. She communicated with me in detail the entire time, and ensured all was to my satisfaction as the job was underway. Her crew thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day, always with a smile. This was my first venture into a home improvement project like this; Donna and Bob were so helpful and reassuring, explaining the process and answering my many questions. I highly recommend the the Twomeys and ProTect Paint, and plan to let family and friends know of my very positive experience.

Good experience with owner and crew. They stuck with the job until I was satisfied with how the exterior looked, which took some extra time.

Stucco on the foundation was repaired by an independent contractor. that I failed to check out on Angie's List. I had to call him back to fix places that he missed. He was not associated with Protect Painters. A carpenter repaired rotted siding and trim. He was effecient and did a good job. Bob and Donna were very responsive and professional all the was through. The crew was punctual and always showed up when they said they would. They were neat and cleaned up when they were done for the day. Donna came and inspected the work daily. They listened to me and did all they could to insure I was happy with the work.They used very high quality paint and didn't cut corners on any part of the job. Donna went over the work with me and picked up on many places that needed a touchup. Everything was corrected promptly. I spent more than I initially intended, but I changed all my colors and added more. Bob broke the cost down for every option. I'm very pleased with the result. The new colors are great and well worth spending a little more. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone that wants a great paint job.

Dan and the staff at Protect Painters were recommended to me by my real estate agent. upon arriving to Austin without having any contacts. Luckily, Protect Painters were a great recommendation and were very professional, start to finish. I called for a bid and was able to it scheduled for the next day. Dan arrival early (unusual for services of this type but a pleasant surprise). As we walked the house to bid the interior paint job, I asked for modifications of a couple of bids because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. This was no problem and I had several printed bids in my hand by the end of the appointment. On the day of the job, the crew started and finished on time. They, carefully, moved our furniture to and put it back again. By the end of the day, we had fresh paint on the walls and were very satisfied with the whole experience!

When we first started our various home projects we received multiple quotes from a variety of places. Dan and Dan (the owners of ProTect) came to our home and gave us a reasonable quote almost immediately. This was right before Christmas and we had lots of family coming into town for the holiday. We were hopeful to have certain aspects of the project done before everyone arrived, so they had their crew come out the very next day and begin work immediately. They worked from 8am to 8pm every day until it was all done. It was done right and it was done on time! We have since then hired ProTect on 3 or 4 other jobs, all of which have been done with professionalism and quality. We would absolutely hire them again.

I contacted Dan Ouellette via email and told him what I needed done. Within half an hour he responded and gave me a quote. We agreed on a time and date, and he arrived right on time. He even called ahead of time as I requested so I could meet him (I tend to expect services like this to be late, so its better I'm productive at work rather than sitting at home waiting around). The work time he quoted me was spot on, and his follow-up the next day to ensure my satisfaction was much appreciated. The quote he gave me was spot on, as well, and remained the same as the initial quote he gave me. This is the work ethic and customer service I like to give my customers, and I love it when I receive the same. Dan-O delivered!

Dan Schaeffer and some of his crew had done interior painting for me several years ago, and I had been very pleased with their work. Last year I contacted him to make a couple of minor corrections, and he was willing to stand by his work and return to do these things, even though time had passed. I actually deferred it again, and recently asked for him to come back to follow up. In addition to these minor touch ups, Dan's crew came in this time and texturized and painted a half bath, my chimney, some spots on the eves where the squirrels had chewed, and my front door. They also repaired some wallpaper in my bathroom and the frame around the back door where a screen door had been removed, and caulked and painted the post between the garage doors which had been bumped by my daughter with her car. Finally, they went through the house with me to caulk and touch up knicks and scrapes on the trim and walls around the house so it would look good to sell. They did a great job, and the crew worked very hard!

Dan and his team were on time and the team worked hard to complete project within 2 days. The team moved furniture before and after the project was completed. Awesome job.

We were extremely satisfied with the quality and professionalism of Bob & Donna of Protect Painters. They were reliable, honest , courteous and on time. Bob and Donna checked in daily to monitor the progress of the painting crew. The paint crews worked diligently and were polite considerate and professional. They did an outstanding job of protecting our floors and furniture. After trying many different painters in the area over the last 20 years we were thrilled with the results and would highly recommend Protect Painters to anyone.
