I was trying to get my refund. They came in and misrepresented themselves. I called them and they said they had already provided the service which was not true. They will try sell you anything just to sell you stuff.

It was a Big Deal purchase. They were outstanding. It was a good service.

Electrician was prompt, knowledgeable, courteous and finished the job within the allotted time for the money I paid. I would use this provider again.

Checked my ductwork and rebalanced air flow throughout the house. Had AC unit replaced 3 years ago by another contractor and that contractor never properly balanced airflow with new plenum installed. Called these folks out and they identified the specific problem and rebalanced the airflow. Excellent and very capable. No complaints at all.

Service went extremely well and I was very pleased. David went the extra mile for me and I would definitely use them again and plan to.

With regard to the light switch, his diagnosis was a bad wall plate, which was replaced with a single switch. The single switch only gave off half off the light capacity, leaving me with a very dim light (which was previously very bright). But this was the real kicker: With regard to the hanging light fixture, he told me that the lamp itself "was bad" and "needed to be replaced". Because it had been so expensive, I didn't replace it. I ignored it for a couple of months, and one day had a thought - maybe it was the light bulb! And voila - all it needed was a new light bulb. Given the fact that the electrician had told me that the entire fixture was bad and it ended up just being a lightbulb translates into a VERY bad electrician, wouldn't you agree? Or am I being unfair? Now I'm hiring a different electrician to fix the wall fixture that the guy mangled. The company was very prompt in responding, and very nice on the phone. But the electrician didn't seem to know his craft. At all.

I could not be happier with the service performed by Efficient Air Conditioning & Electric. After a recent house purchase, my wife and I wanted to replace the aging air conditioning units. We live in an area of West Austin without gas service so system efficiency was a top priority. Initially contacted Efficient to determine if we could install a geothermal-based system for our home. Sales professional (Darwin) patiently discussed the reasons we were not candidates for geothermal. Looking back, my understanding of geothermal was a bit naive, but Darwin did not seem to mind. I appreciated the education. We then discussed efficient heat-pump options. I found Darwin's room by room analysis of our house refreshing. He took the time to describe the sizing process and the affects of recent attic insulation work we had performed...we had replaced 20-year old blown-in fiber glass insulation with spray foam which allowed us to lower our AC hardware needs. In contrast to Darwin's work analysis, the sales professionals from two other companies were only interested in replacing the old units, no analysis. They popped out their system books and wrote up a quote within 20 minutes of arriving. This lack of time investment was a real turn off...just not my style. Two points to note, 1) One of those companies was a top-rated Angie's List company and 2) The per-unit costs were approx. $2k higher. I will add, Darwin seemed to have a solid understanding of both Carrier and Austin Energy rebates in affect at the time. That was a huge plus, those rebates are not trivial! Folks from the other two companies were not up-to-speed and short of details. After the experience with Darwin, I just wanted these jokers to leave my house. With a signed contract, Darwin and I along with a top-level system engineer/installer (Dustin), walked through the house together to make sure we were all on the same page with the planned work. I really appreciated being part of the process. Being part of the process allowed me to understand the design decisions that were going to affect the performance of my new units. The installation took two days. My wife was working from home those two days. The installation crew worked to accommodate her AC needs with solid communication of events that were likely to affect her work. After the install, Dustin was available to address any questions I had and stopped by to make sure everything was working as expected. Bonus points on follow-up! I have already recommended Efficient to my neighbors and friends. I very highly recommend Efficient Air Conditioning & Electric. If you have aging AC units, consider replacing your units on your terms instead of in the middle of a crisis because you and your family are without needed cooling/heating. Also, we love the efficiency of units. We consider this money well spent and an investment in out home.

I had purchased a $99 for two hours "deal". The guy that came was very knowledgeable and professional. Because he was so proficient in what he was doing, we had him do much more work than the original 2 hours took which is why the cost went to $450. He ended up fixing some issues with wiring in the kitchen that another electrical contractor had messed up. Was happy with the work that was done.

They installed some replacement lights that were very hard to get to. There was a little bit of an issue with bringing the correct ladder that I had requested them to bring for the job. Once they got here and started working things went smoothly and they performed the work we requested. My only minor complaint is that they did not take away the trash boxes and clean up after their work. Wasn't a huge mess but enough to have to spend a little while cleaning up. All in all I would recommend them for work and would definitely use them for additional jobs in the future.

The technician was awesome - super friendly, and fast! He finished the cable drop in about 30 minutes and was looking for more to do. We will definitely use Efficient again in the future!

Scheduling an appointment was good. They did everything I had asked them to do. I did not think he was master electrician, though.

Mike and his team of electricians were great - my complaints are not with them. I purchased a "Big Deal" for 2 hours of electrical work, but was not contacted within the 3 day time period. A day late, (now Saturday) I got a message apologizing, saying they would contact me Monday to schedule an appointment. When I finally spoke to the scheduler on Monday, she assured me they would be able to not only duplicate both of the outlets, but also help me mount the TV, which is also stated right on the listing I purchased. When Mike and his team arrived onsite, I showed them what I needed done. First, I was told - they don't hang TVs because of the liability; apparently there was a recent situation. Second, because my house was two stories, there was no way to access either of the outlets I needed to duplicate. So, literally everything I needed them to do, which I was told could be done, would not be done. After talking to the crew about a possible solution for the first outlet, I suggested they tear out part of the dry wall to access the panel - to which Mike agreed would work. It was not an ideal solution but I had no choice. His team did their best to cut the drywall cleanly so that repairs would be minimal. But now I have additional repairs which I had not anticipated. As for the other outlet, no solution was reached because it was in the kitchen and we could not access the drywall because of the backsplash. That work was not done. Since I had already pre-paid for 2 hours of work, I felt like I had to get them to use the time somehow, so I had them install a ceiling fan for me, which I was about to do myself. Easy work, but they did a good job. They also answered some questions for me about putting a fan in the master bedroom. At the end of it, despite Mike and his crew being very friendly, professional and trying to find solutions, I am disappointed that 2 of the 3 projects I needed done didn't get done. I also paid for 2 hours of work and they were only there an hour and a half total. Be careful purchasing work beforehand unless you are certain it can be done.

Although Adam showed up a bit later than I was told by the dispatcher, he idetified the problem and fixed the unit quickly.

David was on time when they were scheduled. Not only did he do what I asked he offered me a better solution. I called them out to just extend the wires for my dishwasher since home depot just left them and would not provide the service. Dave came out, installed an outlet, added a cable to the dishwasher and hooked it up for less than the original estimate. He did the work fast and was very friendly and courteous. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work.

Excellent and timely performance of job for a great price. Only ding was that panel cover did not fit over breakers correctly. Took over a month to get them to fix this small issue.

They are pretty good. They were easy to work with and cleaned up after themselves. I have used them twice now. The electrician was professional and cordial. The scheduling was very easy.

David arrived on time, and installed a bathroom vanity light and three programmable wall controls. He was very courteous, and recommended some additional lighting features for my yard.

I solicited several bids to replace two air conditioners. Though the existing units were over 14 years old, they were in fairly good shape and trouble free. However, their efficiency was declining and the cost of propane was rising such that heating costs were getting to be very high. I already have a 4 year old dual fuel unit on the other side of the house and it has reduced my propane bills considerably, even after taking into account additional electricity costs during the winter. I contacted Darwin Tanksley at Efficient Air Conditioning who scheduled an appointment within a few days. Darwin arrived exactly as scheduled after calling beforehand to confirm my availability. Darwin and I walked through the house, went into the attic, and walked around the outside units to ensure that the task and effort was well understood. We then discussed the various manufactures and models recommended by Efficient. Our options were somewhat limited by my desire for integrated dual fuel products specifically engineered for that purpose by the manufacturer versus after market configurations. We settled on Trane XR16 integrated dual fuel units as the best compromise between cost and efficiency. The initial cost was $10,871 which was reduced to $10,071 after Austin Energy rebates. This was slightly greater that most other bids and less that one other, but the other bids did not include integrated dual fuel units. After scheduling installation for several weeks later, Efficient's technicians arrived on site exactly when promised. They sent two crews (versus one) so that they could start and end the job in one day. They immediately began by covering the carpeted and wood floors with moving blankets to prevent any dirtying or other damage. They also brought heavy duty cardboard which they taped to the wood stairs to avoid damage. Everything proceeded flawlessly. The crews worked efficiently in unison. I am a proficient do-it-your-selfer and have many years experience in building trades. All aspects of their work were professional and exceeded standards. They were meticulous in cleaning up and left the attic space cleaner than when they arrived. In order to complete the job on the same day, they worked until after 7 pm. A few weeks after the installation the units were working fine. However, I wanted to experiment with some of the somewhat complex setting options supported by Trane's sophisticated dual fuel units. So I called Efficient and asked for someone to provide me with the more detailed technical documentation available to distributors. As a result, the Efficient Service Manager voluntarily scheduled a visit. Together we went though the technical documents and reprogrammed some of the supported options. In summary, I am highly impressed by the entire Efficient Air Conditioning organization and I would not hesitate to use them again for any of my heating and cooling issues. Their work ethic is impressive and they go well beyond expectations to ensure that they leave the premises in the same or better shape as when they arrive.

Assembly and installation was good. Service man arrived on time, was thorough with work. Labor warranty was for 3 months. 10 days after fan installation, one indoor Hampton fan stopped working. I called Efficient Electric and they sent the same serviceman. He checked and found it was a manufacturing defect with motor. It needed to be returned to the store (Home De pot). I had to pay service call fee of $75 for second visit as labor warranty covers problems with installation and not manufacturing defects. No complaints though as this is expected per labor warranty terms. Will definitely use them again!

I called Efficient Electric on 10/2714 and set up an appointment for the afternoon of 10/29. The lady who took my call suggested that I could purchase the dimmer switch myself and save some money, which I did. I was told that the service call would be $75 for the first hour, with additional time prorated. David, the electrician, came the morning of the 29th (he had finished his morning job early) which was fine with me. He quickly removed the old inoperative dimmer in our breakfast room light and installed the new one (which I provided) and, after determining that the two switches had been previously wired incorrectly, re-connected them so they worked properly. I showed him the dimmer in our dining room, which worked but was also incorrectly hooked-up (if the other on-off switch on the other side of the room was in one position, the dimmer worked, but if the on-off switch was in the other position, the light would not come on). He re-connected the wires so the switches worked properly. While he was making the correct connections, he noted that there was another wire in the box that was portably installed during construction to allow for a ceiling fan. He brought in his ladder and used his voltage meter to verify that there is, indeed, and extra wire in the box (if we ever want to add a ceiling fan in that room). David finished in slightly less than one hour, answered all my annoying questions, and did a first-rate professional job. I couldn't be happier!

I can say that they were reasonably priced, arrived on time, and there haven't been any issues with the A/C since having it maintenance.
