Efficient AC, Electric & Plumbing

Had a good experience with Efficient AC & Electric when I needed a new shutoff switch (one that would actually work this time) put in place to prevent a recurrence of floor damage resulting from a clogged drain.

Great! Would highly recommend Ian, he arrived when he said he would, was able to diccuss all my options, made suggestions, finished the job in one visit!

It went awesome. I purchased the coupon on Angie's list for 2 hours of electrician time. He called prior and gave me suggestion on the materials I needed to purchase. He arrived on time and went above and beyond to do a good job.

Highly highly recommend! The company was extremely professional and Ian, the electrician was friendly and knowledgable, not to mention extremely conscientious, trustworthy and punctual. I got his card and we wil definitely use Efficient again in the future.

Contractor was qualified and professional, however he was not a great craftsman in that he dinged my Masonite siding when linking to an interior plug. He did seal it up nicely with silicon and was very apologetic about it. Additionally I could not get the type of cover on the outlet that I wanted, because the electrician said that the supplier he did business with did not have that type of cover. Since I am handicapped and disabled, bending down to open and close a double outdoor outlet cover is difficult for me and I would like to be able to open and close one outlet at a time to protect unused outlets from weather and exposure. As it is now, I have double covered outlets that expose two outlets at a time. Additionally the outlet covers open from the bottom instead of from the side making me have to bend over further to reach the opening point, which for a handicapped/disabled person can be difficult.

He was very professional and did a good job. Pointed out Federal Pacific was a potential fire hazard and we will have them back to replace it this week.

The installer was very prompt, he installed my light fixture in less than 30 minutes.

They were on time. Nice. Polite. Had to go in the attic and had to remove trim around the attic door to be able to replace the unit. They put everything back and you can't tell they removed the trim -- good job putting it all back together. And, when they left they cleaned any mess they made in the garage -- couldn't tell they had been here working. We have had a lot of trouble with this unit (put in by our builder --- RUUD unit ---- never buy one of these) and this is the second time the part in the attic has been replaced. First time it was under warranty but this time we had to pay for it. We had never used this company before but did based on Angie's List feedback. We were happy with their quick response to our issue --- as usual --- we had a sudden 90 degree day in Central Texas and the AC wouldn't work. Called these folks and they were able to come out in a couple of days. As far as we know, we are pleased with what they did. Its been less than a month -- but the AC is working and all seems well. Would call them again.

I am very happy with them. I have a yearly contract with them. They come out twice a year. I have always been happy with the people they send. They do what is needed and not what isn't needed.

It has gone very well. The same electrician came out both times and he was very good, efficient, pleasant and we were very impressed. We will probably use them in the future for air conditioning. We saw the Angie?s List special on our computer that is why we used them. We moved in a new house and the builder?s electrician had already came out and gave us a lucrative bid on what we wanted so this company worked out very well. They were unable to finish one of the jobs and came back and did it within a day. The electrician who came was Ian and he was terrific.

They did pretty good. We had a 5 year warranty on the product and they took it to their shop and followed up, something that not many companies can do. The staff who came seemed to be on top and knew exactly what she was doing. She was very professional and stood forward like no nonsense. They were very knowledgeable and I will use them in the future.

It did not turn out poorly. They were good. It was positive. He was efficient and he showed up when he said he would. He did a good job. I was happy with it. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves and making it look good. Everything's worked well.

The technician was very courteous and competent. He got seven switches installed in the two hours I paid for with the Angie's List special. He found what is most likely a defective switch on a 3 way circuit involving one of the switches he installed and offered to come back to replace it at no charge. (Haven't taken him up on the offer yet.) The installed switches work great so far. My only complaint was with the scheduling staff at their central office. When the scheduler called in response to my buying the special, she said they were scheduling appointments from May 4 - 8, so I agreed to the afternoon of the 8th after 1. She said that most likely two technicians would come for an hour (still two person-hours). I get a call a week early from the technician saying he's on his way and asking what the job is. I explain the misunderstanding and he says he can come on the day I originally agreed to after he finishes a 1:00 appointment. He called me a couple of times to let me know his status, but didn't make it to my house until 6 p.m., alone. I don't think the company sufficiently handled the influx of demand after offering the special on Angie's List.

They were very good. They had a good price because I had a coupon. The quality was excellent.

It went very well. One of the reasons why I contacted them was that we have a special heating and air conditioning. It's called Geothermal System. It takes a special technician. The fellow who I use for that has done the work before. He did the work efficiently. That's why I called them in the first place but they didn't send him out. They sent another fellow and I thought he did an excellent job. He was very friendly. He did a good job as far as I was concerned. He came here and got it done on time. The prices were reasonable. I thought they did a great job.

Obviously this is a company committed to customer satisfaction and they cherish their high rating but as in all cases your experience with any service company is as good as the technician performing the work. With that said, I'd say my experience with Efficient wasn't ideal but since they value satisfied customers, they made things right.

Both fluorescent bulbs stopped working in a single fixture. When I called Efficient,the service technician said it would be cheaper if I bought the parts myself. He suggested I buy a "ballast" would fix the issue. I didn't know what a ballast was -- I thought it was weight added to a ship to keep it from tipping sideways -- but I thought Home Depot will know. Stupid mistake. I went to the fluorescent shelves and searched in vain for something called a ballast. I found nothing. But I did find new fixtures that had the word ballast on the box. When I finally tracked a clerk down, I asked him if the box I had was the ballast, which was all I was looking for. He said yes. So I spent a pretty penny. The electrician was surprised that I bought the whole fixture. He then pointed out that the ballast was a small device within the fixture that regulated the fluorescence. Meaning I overspent. However, the electrician and his assistant did an excellent job of replacing the fixtures and the bulbs. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life and everyone but me knows what a ballast is. But I think the electrician should have explained it to me on the phone. And I shouldn't have been in such a hurry that I didn't seek further details before hanging up. Alas, live and learn.
