DUHON ELECTRIC

After cleaning out the garage and installing storage cabinets, it was time to get the cars inside. But, manual garage doors are the pits. So, I had just had garage door openers installed, but garage door company did not mess with the electric connection. Instead, they used a series of extension cords hanging about the garage to connect to the closest outlet. It looked pretty bad. Duhon Electric came on time, analyzed the situation in the garage...could not go beyond ceiling because of upstairs room, so instead, the electrician installed a new outlet high up on one wall and neatly attached extension cord wires across ceiling to openers. The process took less than two hours and the end result was satisfactory. The electrician used the existing extension cords which were bright orange and longer than needed...but looped the excess wire neatly (as they do on traffic signals). I would have preferred to have a less colorful wire connection, but I did not specify this at the beginning of the job. It has been nearly 3 years since the work and the openers work perfectly well and I have a neat garage for our 2 cars.

It turns out that another service company had accidently cut an electric line when they were putting in the HVAC system in our attic. Duhon Electric came out and laid it out plain and simple what they believe happened. They did not add any unneeded materials to the work, so I basically paid for their time to put everything back together. It did not take them more than 30 minutes, so the $95 came out to be a little on the high side in my opinion, but it was overall worth it for my piece of mind. He arrived on time and was very professional.

Visit was on-time, work was done efficiently, and the electrician was friendly and asked good questions about what we wanted to have done.

He never showed up or called.

It was a simple job to change out a light switch in the garage to an automatic motion detection light switch. Response time with the company was slow, but can understand if the company had large projects to complete, this small job to perform would not be on the top of their list. The electricians were nice, quickly assessed the job, went to purchase a new light switch and installed it quickly. The cost was fair. Unfortunately the light switch purchased was not what was requested, but was one that required a manual turn on then it automatically shut off after 5 minutes. We called the company several times to leave a message we were not satisfied with this switch and after approximately two weeks, there was still no response from the company. I researched online about motion light switches and then went to Lowes to purchase the one I wanted and planned to install it myself. However the company representative finally called and arranged to come to install the new switch and reimbursed us the cost of the new light switch. It was a bit frustrating for the time it took to complete the small job, but the company made it right and because of that integrity I would consider using them again.

The pricing was okay but he made a mistake on a display cabinet and a few other things. However, he came back out promptly to fix the problem. He was honorable, respectful, and professional in his work. He is honest and stands by his work.

Excellent. I originally got a quote from William back in October, but for schedule reasons I had to put off the work. I got back in contact with him in December, e-mailed him the work request. Sometimes he takes a little while to respond to e-mails, but he has always responded and always shown up for appointments. He put me on the schedule. He was running late but he let me know. Once he was here, he got to work and finished everything in about four to five hours. When he wrote up the bill, he noticed that the original quote included work that I ended up changing my mind on, so he took that off.

Excellent, no problems. Setup install in about 1 week, took only a few hours to do, price comparable to better than other quotes and done more elegantly and hassle-free for me than other electricians quoted -- thought about the install rather than just reflexively 'trenching it'. On time, no follow-up calls needed. Also helped setup permit and city inspection afterwards, even after hours.

From the initial consultation to the estimate to the completion of service and following up, William Duhon and his team were fantastic. He has a great attention to detail and he helped us with specific paperwork issues involved with filing our Electrical Vehicle plug rebate. I felt that he was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond the "basic service" at every opportunity. He was prompt at every appointment, he stayed in contact with me by phone and email, and he made sure all of the work was completed and done right.

Damien and William (and another guy) installed 9 recessed cans in my kitchen and dining area. They were very conscientious, cleaning as they went, and worked very quickly. When they were done, it looked great and worked perfectly with dimmers. They had some challenges getting around some pipes in the ceiling, but they did it! I would definitely use them again in the future.

Prompt, professional service. Very experienced. He knew exactly what was wrong from my description and fixed it right away. Then he changed a number of loose outlets - he had everything on hand and immediately did the work. Myself and a friend were painting and taking down lights - he helped us reinstall the vanity lights better off than they were before - more secure and safe. Extremely good experience!

Exceptional service. He did what he said, when he said and how he said. Checked with us on every important detail. Showed up on time and ready to work and finished in record time. He had gone to register with the city before I even told him he had to. I would highly recommend this firm and Mr. Duhon. I will certainly use him again. His prices are reasonable when compared to others and I did get three bids from Angie's list members and his was the best.

It went well and exceeded my expectations. They came out on a Friday night and did not charge an unreasonable price for their service. I would recommend them to others wanting electrical work done in a correct, professional manner.

I had 2 outlets (stove & overhead microwave) go out, and didn't find any breakers tripped. Called Duhon Electric, and they were able to send an electrician out the next day. Fearing the worst, I had my checkbook ready. The electrician came in, and opened up one of the outlets to find that there was just a connection that had come loose. He was at my house for less than 3 minutes, but I was still prepared to pay for the service call. He shook my hand and told me not to worry about it. In this day and age, I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I would use them again in a heartbeat! Thanks, Duhon Electric!

I called and got an answering machine. I left my phone number. I never heard back from them.

Patient, professional and totally amazing. William was helpful all the way through. He made one visit for free to advise me on how I might move a troublesome electrical box closer to the center of the kitchen and also gave me free advice on how to deal with some other small electrical problems. He was completely on-time and professional in scheduling an appointment to move the box when I finally figured out where I wanted it. Best of all, William is totally patient -- a real calming presence in the sea of confusion that can sometimes accompany construction. He's a real pleasure to work with.

I asked when we could get its scheduled and the nice woman on the phone said they would have to call me back to get me on the schedule. Unfortunately I had to call back a few times to get on the schedule. Once everything was set the technician came out and installed the recessed lighting professionally and quickly. I am very happy with the work.

Contractor made an initial visit to assess the work. Then items 2 and 3 were done on a second visit shortly after the initial assessment while we awaited the specially ordered carriage lights to arrive. Items 1 and 4 were done during a third visit shortly after the lights arrived. Overall, the work was done in a professional and timely manner, with no unexpected problems. No charges were assessed until all the work was complete.

They were great. Their price was good. They were on time and they were honest with their work. They were reliable and trustworthy.

Damien and Jeff were only slightly late for the appointment which was no big deal since we took time off to do this project. They were very helpful and even quoted me on another future job. They also wired our fireplace unit for us saving us having to do it ourselves, which was our original intent. We didn't know what the best distance from our fireplace mantel should be for placing the canned lights. We asked Damien and based on his opinion we felt he was right. After he left we were looking at the lights and said left to our own we would have placed them in much closer to the fireplace and it would have been a HUGE mistake. Damien's suggestion on where to place them was perfect. They honestly look like they've always been there. We just love how they look. We had originally asked him to also install a new CO Monitor and a new smoke detector. The CO monitor hadn't come in yet but Damien said to call him when it came in and he would come back out and put it in for us with no further charge. They had to get into our flowering shrubs in order to pull the wire and honestly they did minimal damage. I was very surprised as I expected to have most of the shrubs crushed as it was pretty much unavoidable. They worked quickly and efficiently. Were cordial and helpful and I will only use them for any future electrical needs.

Overall, everything was fixed as I wanted and was easier than I expected. He arrived on-time, calling in advance to let me know he was on the way. He began work right away and made immediate progress getting the situation assessed and troubleshooting the problem. After everything was operational, he gave a good description of what the problem was, provided needed advice, and quickly wrapped up paperwork.

We were very pleased with the quality of service and the overall price. We will definitley call Duhon Electric for any other needs in this area.

Overall experience was very good. Work was done quickly and correctly. William was very nice and extremely helpful and informative.

He was okay. He showed up late so I had to call and ask him if he was still coming because he didn’t call to tell me he was running behind. I think the work is okay except that one ceiling fan stopped working so I had to call him back out and I had to pay for him to come out again. He said that something in the wiring came loose but I’m assuming that was because of him. He quoted me some prices for under cabinet lighting that were several hundred dollars more than what I was able to find; however, his hourly rate was competitive. I would use him again because I have set up my expectations with him and I don't know that other electricians are any better.
