Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Texas

This was a great experience. I had a complicated situation as my dryer vents under my house (I have a sort of cellar), and he was able to get all of the lint cleared out. My dryer works so well now!

They came out and did an outstanding job & I think saved me from burning my house down. They had to do an extensive amount of cleaning. They put an apparatus up on the roof for us and what they showed us was just astounding. We got there just in the nick of time. On the professionalism, I can't remember that guy's name, but he explained what all of the various prices involved were and what was added on here or there, what was needed or what was not needed & said we could do minimum this or maximum that. He didn't oversell it. He just told us what was going on & let us make up our own mind. That was a good feeling. There was no pressure whatsoever.

I give Bob a lot of credit for crawling under our deck to reach the vent outlet! Several times!! (Maybe not with the same excitement of our grandson doing it when he was 7 or 8, but the grandson didn't have to go quite as far into the depths.) The vent opening was clogged with lint, could not close. Air flow and temperature were not what they should have been. They are now!

Only thing I would change, it would be nice to see the lint that actually came out so that you truly knew that it was a needed service.

I never thought I'd meet a dryer vent "geek" but this guy certainly qualifies! He is more into drier vents that I never knew you could be! Did a fantastic job of cleaning out our dryer vents and "hardening" our connectors to ensure a smooth air flow now and in the future.

Bob was very courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. He performed an inspection, outlined/explained his recommended services, and gave us the opportunity to choose the services we felt needed to be done on this visit. We had the dryer vent cleaned, vent cover replaced (bird nest remnants) and replaced the transom venting (the flex tube that connects the dryer to the wall). Bob completed the work as described and the result was over 50% improvement in airflow mph, so clothes will dry faster now and we can save on dryer use/expense. We provided the Angie's List coupon which was honored. For the work we elected not complete, Bob provided ways to fix on our own down the road. Completely satisfied with this service, will use Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Texas again and recommend to friends.

It went great! Owner was VERY professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and did a very thorough job. He was very nice and answered all my questions. You could tell he cared about his business and was conscientious about the service he provides.

Service was fantastic! Bob arrived early and explained in detail how he would check the dryer and vent for any potential problems. Before leaving he showed me the before and after dryer airflow and temperature which had improved. Bob was incredibly honest and thorough - I would not hesitate to recommend him again.

Great - replaced my dryer "exhaust pipe" and cleaned out vent - great service - on time, professional, and cleaned the area after he finished. Would definately use him again.

Bob was thorough, knowledgeable, and had an obvious commitment to get the job done the right way the first time. He did not hurry through the job, and seemed to almost relish in getting things **exactly** right, from the paperwork, to the payment details, to the actual venting installation.

The safety inspection revealed that the vent hose was substandard. The vent cap, which was replaced during roof replacement didn't meet building code and blocked the exit of lint from the vent. He replaced it with a new cap, rerouting the vent to the new cap location. He cleaned the vent afterwards and replaced the vent hose. He work was very thorough and professional. Would recommend him for any dryer vent work.

Bob arrived right on schedule. Bob was professional and explained all the work he was going to do. He performed the safety check and then reviewed the scope of work and estimate. Competed the work in a hour and the dryer is working great.

Bottom line - Bob was great! I'd definitely use him again and recommend him highly. After replacing the dryer's heating element, I began working on the dryer vent. Although we have a one-story house, the dryer is vented out through the attic (20+ feet with lots of turns). Got a 12 foot cleaning brush from Home Depot and got a lot of lint out. A few months later the dryer was still taking forever to get things dried. I got another cleaning brush kit to get 24 feet coverage and got a lot more lint out. Still had issues. When I checked the connection to the roof, it looked like the builders mis-judged the connection to the roof and had a flexible vent pipe to connect to the roof (more turns). I decided it was time to use a professional and didn't want someone who only had the same brush I had. Bob told me the roof connection was not within code and, while the roof vent was a good one, it should not have a screen on it. He fixed the roof connection, removed the screen, cleaned out more lint from the vent and cleaned the dryer vent cavity. He had a meter to check the air flow and temperature coming out of the roof vent. Before he did any work the airflow was 6.4 mph and the heat was 67 df. After he completed his work the airflow was 21.0 mph and the heat was 124 df. Our dryer now works great!

Bob called and showed up right on time. He came in and did an inspection of the entire dryer vent system and diagnosed what needed to be done. We've been in the house for 14 years and have never had the system completely cleaned so I knew we needed to get this done. Bob went right to work and cleaned the area from the dryer to the roof vent, explained what he was doing and how he was going to accomplish it. He then replaced the connection from the dryer to the vent with a proper dryer hose and explained why the old one was not a good hose to be using. He then cleaned out the lint from the interior of the dryer and took pictures to show me how dirty it was and then showed pictures of the interior after cleaning. If you've never opened up the interior of your dryer in 10+ years be ready for a shocker. The interior was covered in lint!! If you have your vent cleaned but don't get the interior of your dryer cleaned of lint you are only doing half the job. After all that Bob cleaned up the area, put everything back in place and inspected the system once again for airflow and temperatures. First time the dryer was used after cleaning it was obvious that the cleaning helped, clothes were dry in half the time it took before. It's not often that you find someone that is exceptional at their job but Bob is just that. No doubt that I will call him again when it's time to get this done.

House is 13 years old and and this is the first time cleaned. We recently purchased a new dryer and the dryer's error code came on indicating a venting problem. Bob cleaned about 40 feet of vent of lint (some of it wet) and replace the duct from the dryer's vent to the wall outlet. I now get about 4 times the exhaust to the outside which greatly reduced the drying cycle.

It all went very, very, well.

On time. Completed difficult task as had to work under house in narrow space.

On a previous dryer vent cleaning by another provider it was discovered that the dryer vent pipe was connected to the incorrect roof vent. That provider did not have the ability to correct the problem. Searching on Angie's List, I read the information for Dryer Vent Wizard and called them to see if they could repair the incorrect connection. The answer was "Yes", so I scheduled an appointment. Due to work commitments I had a restricted time frame and Bob called to confirm when I would be available. Bob arrived on time and immediately went to work inspecting the system. Upon completion of his inspection, he presented his findings and confirmed the incorrect connection as well as some other issues that were not brought to my attention by the other provider. He even provided photos of each problem he had discovered during the inspection so I could see what he had found. Bob, explained in detail what needed to be done to correct the problems and how much it would cost. I asked if he needed to come back another day to complete the repairs, as it was getting into the evening hours. He said he would prefer to get the work done if it was ok with me. I approved the work and costs and he got busy fixing all the issues discovered during the inspection. Upon completion of the work, he re-tested the system to ensure it was performing correctly. He again provided photos to show what corrections he made and provided recommendation on when the dryer vent should be cleaned again it the future. I would highly recommend Bob to anyone in the Central Texas area he serves to have their dryer vent cleaned or make necessary repairs.

Had only desired clean-up, however, on inspection, external vent was found to be completely plugged and of an older design that was prone to plug. Cost included both the service and parts including the new vent. I was surprised at the cost, but he gave me the accurate total before we agreed to the larger job scope.

Mr. Byrfogle arrived on time and was prompt, efficient, and professional. After he preformed the diagnostic inspection he explained his recommendations. The inspection included looking at the dryer, the vent in the attic and climbing up to the roof vent cover. I have had the house for 24 years and was pretty sure that we needed the vent cleaned and I also knew in advance that I wanted the vinyl tube replaced with something fire resistant. Basically, I wanted to prevent a dryer fire. My dryer vent was at least 17 feet in length and had a 45 degree turn which I had not known. The vent exits through a steep roof. The results were that air flow before the cleaning was 10.8 mph and after it was cleaned it was 17 mph. I had not noticed that the dryer was slowing down in drying time but it obviously will dry faster now. I also purchased a Lint Lizard from Mr. Byrfogle. The Lint Lizard is a tool to attach to my vacuum cleaner hose to keep the dryer lint tray cavity clean. I don't know why manufactures make cleaning the lint tray cavity so hard.

He arrived within the specified appointment window, calling to keep me posted on his ETA when he was finishing up his first appointment. He was courteous, professional, and thorough. He went over all of his findings and explained everything he found in understandable terms. I chose to address the issues that he found, as I felt they were necessary and reasonable, but had I opted not to, I would have felt comfortable to decline his recommendations. For the amount of time he was at my home and the amount of work he did, the charges seemed fair and appropriate. It is very satisfying to know that the dryer is safe and functioning properly.
